Samuel Lee from Prince Armory has designed and built another spectacular suit of armor. As you can see, this one was inspired by the look of everyone's favorite bounty hunter, Boba Fett. This shows us what the character would look like as a medieval knight, and it's badass! This isn't the first time we've featured geek-inspired medieval armor by Prince Armory, to check out some of the others, click on the following links: Terrifying Medieval Darth Vader Armor; Incredible “First Age” Sauron Custom Leather Lotr-Inspired Armor; Suit Up With This Man Of Steel-Inspired Medieval Armor; Asgardian Style Iron Man Armor Is Super Stunning; and Radical Medieval Leather Armor Suit for The Joker.

Damn! You’ve gotta check out this insanely awesome custom-made “First Age” Sauron leather armor inspired by The Lord of the Rings. It was created by Samuel Lee from Prince Armory and the craftsmanship is incredible. When talking about his design, the creator said:
Instead of the typical medieval fantasy spinoff (its already that anyway), this design is more focused on a scenario of what might Sauron’s armor looked like in the first age (Far before the well known 3rd age featured in the Lord of the Rings films). I won’t get into the volume of lore left behind by Tolkien but one thing worth noting is that Sauron himself was a capable artisan and armor smith. Perhaps he would feel at home in this armor.
Hell yeah! I think Lee completely nailed the look and it’s a suit of armor I think even Weta would be excited about.

Well Go USA Entertainment has announced that Fruit Chan’s genre-bending The Midnight After will be available on DVD and digitally on 21 June 2016.
The film premiered at the 2014 Berlin International Film Festival and was the recipient of numerous prestigious nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Cinematography at the Hong Kong Film Awards, where it also won in the Best Original Score category.
Based on a cult internet novel by Hong Kong writer “Mr. Pizza“, The Midnight After follows a group of 16 bus passengers who find that, in the time between entering and emerging from a traffic tunnel, the city was struck by an apocalyptic event.
The innovative Chan sculpts a blend of horror, comedy, mystery and sci-fi, flinging his unique cast of characters into increasingly bizarre scenarios.
The film received critical praise for its tone, most notably the blasé manner in which characters respond to the otherworldly circumstances they find themselves in.

With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice finally coming out next month, it's probably about time to revisit Zack Snyder's 2013 film Man of Steel. I remember really liking the movie at the time, though the whole "Superman unintentionally destroying Metropolis, not going out of his way to save civilian lives, and making out with Lois on a pile of rubble" final act didn't sit very well with me. That's since become the big debate about the Superman reboot, and as much as the filmmakers strangely keep saying that the new movie won't address people's issues with that movie, the trailers indicate that addressing those issues is actually going to be a major part of the plot.
In any case, FashionablyGeek has pointed us to this cool Man of Steel-inspired armor, which was designed by Samuel Lee of Prince Armory. The Kryptonian symbol on the front is seamlessly worked...

Somewhere deep inside of us there's a spot that still hasn't forgiven director Fruit Chan for what he did to our psyche with his disturbing flick Dumplings (we can still hear that crunching). Will his next flick have the same effect?
Screen Daily reports that Hong Kong’s Golden Scene is producing Chan’s (pictured) first Hong Kong-set feature in almost a decade, sci-fi thriller The Midnight After, based on bestselling novel Lost on a Minibus by Mongkok To Tai Po.
Chan plans to start shooting in June with an ensemble cast including regulars from his previous films like Wong You Nam (Hollywood Hong Kong), Chui Tien You (Little Cheung) and Sam Lee (Made In Hong Kong). The cast also includes Hong Kong stars Simon Yam, Lam Suet, Janice Man, Kara Hui and Vincci Cheuk.

Back when I was still reading comic books, D.C. used to have an alternate universe type of book line called “Elseworlds”, basically their version of Marvel’s “What if…”, only, well, more well thought-out and better looking. (Let’s face it, some of those “What if…” comics were pretty shoddy.) The best Elseworlds stories I’ve found were always the ones centered around Batman and his alter ego Bruce Wayne, and what would happen if Batman was born in Victorian Era England (“Gotham by Gaslight”), Batman was also Superman (“Superman: Speeding Bullets”), Batman was Dracula (“Holy Terror”), etc. Which is probably why these non-fan art Batman as a Medieval Knight photos are so appealing to me. These beauties are the creations of one Samuel Lee and the inspired folks at Prince Armory, which we’re told “offers the pinacle of custom hand crafted armor, costumes, and leather products”. Basically,...

3:10 To Yuma director James Mangold has been hired to direct a new western revenge thriller called The Gunslinger.
Warners initially bought the spec script from John Hlavin (Underworld 4), back in May of 2009. The story is described as a contemporary Western, which centers on an ex-Texas Ranger who sets out to punish the men who killed his brother.
The script ended up on 2009's screenplay Black List, and here's the description from that which goes into more detail on the story and what it's compared to:
When a Texas Ranger is horrifically tortured and killed, his sharp-shooter older brother, Sam Lee Hensley, plots revenge against the mysterious, sadistic leader of a notorious drug cartel. Sam Lee’s quest for vengeance will cost him seven years in prison, his right hand and one eye. It will imperil his young nephew and wreak havoc on the lives of those who love him.

Each year, Hollywood executives name the best screenplays of the year that have yet to be made. In previous years, their list has catapulted dozens of scripts into production and screenwriters out of oblivion. Some of this year’s crop have moved into production; others are stuck in development hell. See what you think.
It’s called the Black List — film executives' favorite scripts written in, or somehow uniquely associated with, this year but not be released in theaters during this calendar year.

Since 2004, Franklin Leonard — now an exec at Universal — has compiled a list of the “most liked” scripts in Hollywood. What started as a means to find good reading material for the Christmas holiday has become an annual tradition in December. Players from various Hollywood businesses (this year the number of people grew to 311) select their top 10 favorite scripts and the votes shake out into “The Black List.”
These elite scripts typically get noticed by agencies and studios around town and wind up on the screen or the Academy category for “Best Original/Adapted Screenplay.” In an industry where unoriginality means financial blockbuster, “The Black List” is a reminder that talented screenwriters still exist.
The number one script (out of 97) with 47 mentions is newcomer Christopher Weekes’ The Muppet Man, a biopic about late puppeteer Jim Henson. The Jim Henson Company has purchased the rights and is producing.

Last December, we introduced you to Franklin Leonard and The Black List, the list of the best unproduced screenplays in Hollywood. Since then, Leonard has been named by The Hollywood Reporter as one of the top 35 executives under 35 working in Hollywood and his list has gained even more prominence. This year's list consists of 97 scripts with 311 people contributing to the ranking -- up from 260 in 2008. The top 10 (actually, 11, thanks to a tie in 10th place) is filled with mostly up-and-comers, with the exception of Aaron Sorkin and David Scarpa. All of the scripts are in some stage of development around Hollywood,...

Not that I would ever dare to compare Seneca with Park Chan-Wook, but one of the themes which transpired from his latest, sublime 박쥐 (Thirst) is that knowing your sins is the first step on the path which leads to salvation, no matter in whichever shades of gray or shadows that moment will come. They might have found acceptance beyond their own borders thanks to nearly unrivaled cinematic flair, but the morality plays which have been brewing at the core of Park's last five films, all the more pungent with every new stroke, are just as important in defining his body of work as his gusto for sumptuous art direction and visual mastery. It's regrettable, then, to see them often overlooked at the altar of adrenaline-filled tour de force sequences which drench such cinematic magic. It would be like getting served the finest pork ribs in the world, and going straight for the bones,...

The Longest Night in Shanghai could have been a disaster. It's a formula rom-com at heart, yet another riff on Pygmalion where a glossy pan-Asian cast is headed up by two lonely beautiful people who only need one fleeting meet-cute to establish they're meant for each other. It's helmed by an arthouse director, Zhang Yibai, coming off a shaky second picture (Curiosity Kills the Cat) in which the more predictable genre elements he tried to introduce killed a great deal of the atmosphere stone dead almost before it even got started.
But it's not a disaster. It's far from a perfect film; it's too long, and its multiple plot threads vary wildly in quality, but the sumptuous production values, stellar cast and gorgeous soundtrack paper over the (very) rough spots to leave the viewer with one of the quietest,...

The film is based on the true story of the Hong Kong homeless football team, following them and their Christian social worker as they try to beat the odds and make it to the Homeless World Cup Finals in Germany. Featuring an amiable cast of familiar Hong Kong and Mainland faces, including Eric Suen and Tvb actress Gigi Lai in her last cinema role, the film attempts to inspire and to put forward a universal message of courage in the face of adversity – and generally succeeds, if perhaps not quite in the way that Kwan may have intended. The film revolves around Lantern Street in Hong Kong,...
