From an ancient story, a new horror begins. The gallows beckon, and it’s more than just rivalry and Puritan injustice driving Old Demdike and her family there.
Twisted Fate Publishing, a small, independent UK publisher, is delighted to announce the publication of the next new title from Huddersfield author Nick Stead: The View from Gallows Hill.

Gallows Hill, Lancashire, in that fateful month of August, 1612. Stead begins his version of the story

the Puritans but considered cunning folk by themselves and those not yet blinded by the new
religion.
Life is becoming ever harder for the cunning folk with so many being forced into the new Protestant

Sean Fahey, founder of Black Jack Press and mastermind behind the outstanding weird west anthology series, Tall Tales from the Badlands, has begun a Kickstarter campaign to launch a new anthology, Sagas of the Northmen, featuring one of medieval Europe’s most feared cultures: the Vikings. On the Kickstarter page, Fahey states, “In the tradition of the medieval Icelandic Sagas, our book features tales about (seemingly) ordinary men and women finding themselves in extraordinary circumstances. The subject matter explored in this inaugural volume is expansive and includes stand-alone tales about the infamous raid on Lindisfarne, Leif Erikson, the Icelandic justice system, the Viking funeral ritual, the Varangian Guard, the Viking warrior ethos and Freydis Eiriksdottir’s expedition to North America.” These are some truly epic tales from Viking history. Danny Trejo is 69 years old and still kicking ass – much more ass than he should be. It’d be one thing if his only leading role this year was Machete Kills, but Trejo has a whole list of titles he’ll be appearing in this year alone, with his most recent action adventure being Dead In Tombstone. Directed by Roel Reiné (Death Race 2/Death Race: Inferno), Trejo brings hell to Earth in this undead Western thriller, making a deal with the Devil, played by none other than Mickey Rourke. If Guerrero (Trejo) can deliver the souls of the six men who double-crossed him, he’ll save his own hell-cursed afterlife – assuming he can trust the Devil.
