Tonight marked the first time Jon Stewart returned to The Daily Show since Donald Trump was found guilty on 34 felony counts, and the host went after the media, Trump and President Joe Biden.
Stewart roasted Fox News’ Laura Ingraham for calling the justice system a “banana republic.”
The comedian went on to call out South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott for claiming on CNN that the justice system “hunts Republicans while protecting Democrats” on the very same day Hunter Biden faced jury selection for federal gun charges.
He joked that the hosts of Fox & Friends were “using pillows to cover their boners” at that news.
After that show’s correspondents didn’t correct Trump for claiming he never said “lock her up” about former presidential opponent Hillary Clinton, Stewart put them on blast, referencing Fox News’ recent $747 million settlement over repeated false election claims.

In a local TV interview, former President Donald Trump revealed a list of four people he is considering as vice presidential candidates.
In an interview with News 12 News Jersey, following his campaign rally in The Bronx, New York, political reporter, Tara Rosenblum asked if Trump was considering former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, who declared last week that she would vote for him in the 2024 presidential election.
“A big night last night, Nikki Haley making her first public remarks since dropping out of the race,” the reporter asked. “She said that Joe Biden has been a catastrophe, and she’s voting for you. I’m sure those were welcome remarks for you, but they also left a lot of people wondering if there is room for her on your team or, better yet, your ticket.”

“The gatekeepers are gone,” Colin Jost told a roomful of journalists at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on April 27, before pivoting to the punchline: “Did you know that 90 percent of people now get their news exclusively from social media? And that must be true because I saw it in a random guy’s TikTok.”
For those (ever fewer) media gatekeepers who have major reach, trust is currency. And there’s still a halo effect for those TV stars with broadest viewership — i.e., network TV hosts — particularly evening and morning show anchors for NBC and ABC, a new THR/Morning Consult poll shows. The survey, conducted May 4-5 among a sample of 2,239 U.S. adults, asked opinions about 40-plus major TV news stars, as well as surveyed trends about America’s fractured media diet during a presidential campaign year.

During his Monday return to the anchor chair, The Daily Show host Jon Stewart brought up the topic of the so-called cancel culture that is allegedly plaguing the political right. He concluded that while mostly these pundits claim the woke left are coming to get them, the true cancel culture of today only occurs when a Republican speaks ill of former president Donald Trump.
Following some light jabs and gags around Trump’s current criminal trial in New York — one which had Stewart comparing the former president to the cartoon character Mr. Magoo (‘He’s just stumbling around, quid pro quo and metal beams falling all around, gets out completely unscathed”), the host brought up the hot topic of Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker. When You Visit Bob Ritchie at his home in the jagged hills outside Nashville, the guy who will likely greet you at the door is a tall, well-dressed, exceedingly polite gentleman who goes by “Uncle Tom.” Because of course he does. Ritchie makes his living as Kid Rock, but a big part of being Kid Rock these days involves doing things that are simultaneously provocative, offensive, and, at least to him, funny. It tracks, then, that a middle-aged white guy who began his career more than three decades ago in...

The show has been available since 2022, and the streamer said it made the decision out of ‘an abundance of caution.’
If you haven’t caught “The Trial of Hunter Biden” on Fox Nation since its 2022 release, it appears you’re out of luck. TVNewser has confirmed that the mock trial miniseries focused on the alleged crimes of the president’s son is no longer available on the streamer, having been pulled after threats of a lawsuit from Biden’s legal team.
Key Details: Biden’s team is reportedly planning a lawsuit against Fox over alleged defamation. The series includes sexually explicit images of Biden that his lawyers have characterized as “revenge porn.” Fox has called the series “constitutionally protected coverage,” but removed it as it prepares for a potential legal battle. 60-Day Free Trial $5.99+ / month fox nation via directv stream
“The Trial of Hunter Biden” was a “what-if” series hosted by Judge Joe Brown.

Jimmy Failla isn’t taking over Fox News Chanel, but he has, at least for one short period in the late afternoon, seized control of a portion of its New York ground-floor facilities.
The space is typically devoted to a space for guests to hang out and a section for hair and makeup, but Failla uses it to get himself revved up to tape “Fox News Saturday Night,” a program the network says is devoted less to red-versus-blue rants and more to making people laugh. The hallway leading to his studio was flooded with the sounds of rockabilly and Queen.
“True comedy doesn’t have a political party. Comedy is a party,’ says the 47-year-old comedian, who hails from a family of cops and, prior to his tenure at Fox News was supplementing his stand-up income by driving a New York taxi. “And at a party, you don’t ask...

Fox News is expected to announce that it recently closed a deal with Gutfeld to extend his contract, a move that spotlights the host’s importance to the network’s operations even if he isn’t in the mold of a Sean Hannity or Laura Ingraham. Under the pact, Gutfeld will continue his co-hosting duties at the roundtable show “The Five” as well as his 10 p.m. program, “Gutfeld!,” a looser take on the issues of the day that marks a bid by Fox News to woo the younger TV viewers who might watch late-night programs such as “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on CBS or “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central. The third anniversary of the 10 p.m. program arrives Friday.

Hardcore Pawn star and Detroit pawnbroker Les Gold told Fox News that customers seem to be getting increasingly desperate.
Gold starred in the TruTV series between 2010 and 2015 along with his adult children and fellow pawnbrokers Ashley and Seth at American Jewelry and Loan. He said pawnbrokers are “street-level economists” who are indicators of which way the economy is going.
“I see it each and every day,” he said in a Fox News Ingraham Angle interview.
“Right now, the pawn line is probably twice as long as the redemption line for people picking up merchandise,” he said.
Gold said the trend has been noticed in the past six months and have reflect a marked increase in customers coming into his 8 Mile store who are desperately in need of cash to fund basic necessities.

At a town hall event held in Greenville, South Carolina, Donald Trump revealed his list of potential running mates and reaffirmed his influence within the Republican Party. In a conversation with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, Trump discussed the speculated candidates on his vice presidential shortlist.

Trump also confirmed the inclusion of Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Florida), Gov. Kristi Noem (R-South Dakota) and former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii).

Former President Donald Trump called his wife, Melania Trump, “Mercedes” during an important speech at Cpac on Saturday.
The gaffe comes after numerous instances of the former president confusing people’s names in public speeches.
Earlier this month, he confused his GOP primary opponent, Nikki Haley, with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
The incident led Haley to accuse the former president of suffering from “cognitive decline.”
Former Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis frequently said that Trump has “lost his fastball.”

Donald Trump doubled down on his comparison to Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who died on Friday in an arctic penal colony and is widely believed to have been murdered by the government of Vladimir Putin.
When speaking at a Fox News town hall on Tuesday evening, Trump grotesquely likened a civil fraud judgment against him to Navalny’s death. Donald Trump hasn’t stepped on stage once this election season to debate his Republican rivals, but the ex-president today challenged Joe Biden to show up for multiple face-to-face match-ups.
“I’ll do it right now on your show, I’ll challenge him right now,” Trump gleefully told Laura Ingraham tonight after the Fox News host pressed him in a piece of staged political theater to debate his 2020 foe in 2024. “We can do you, you can do anybody you want, Trump told Ingraham in the pre-recorded town hall as she offered to moderate at least one of the hypothetical debates. “I’ll take anybody from CNN, which is doing very poorly in the ratings by the ways as you probably know. I’ll take anybody because I think you have an obligation to debate.”
Knowing perfectly well that the much-cloistered Biden will have to respond, Trump took his version of a statesman approach.

The big bipartisan border reform deal is all but dead, thanks to Maga Republicans obeying Donald Trump’s wishes to kill it. The legislation delivered many of the immigration measures conservatives have long wanted, but the former president and his allies in Congress worry progress on the issue would make Joe Biden look good ahead of the presidential election. Therefore, addressing what Republicans say is the most pressing crisis facing America today is going to have to wait until a later date when the party feels it’s more politically expedient.

For months now, Republicans in the House of Representatives have been holding major legislation hostage and threatening a full-blown government shutdown over their demands for hardline, extreme immigration reforms. Now, as congressional leadership works to finalize a Biden-endorsed immigration reform package, Trump is trashing the deal publicly, and privately referring to anyone in his party who supports it as “stupid.”

A major transition at the top of a big company typically spells significant change. Just ask anyone who has worked for CNN while parent company WarnerMedia passed along to AT&T and then the new Warner Bros. Discovery.

Bret Baier isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
The Fox News anchor, who hosts the afternoon program Special Report and serves as Fnc’s chief political anchor, has signed a contract extension with the cable news channel.
“I am honored to continue anchoring Special Report and alongside my dedicated team and co-anchoring our election coverage for many years to come,” Baier said in a statement.
Baier last signed a contract extension in 2021, in a deal that was set to run into 2026. It was not immediately clear how long Baier’s new contract runs, though Fox says it is a “multi-year” extension.
A long-time correspondent at Fox News before taking over Special Report in 2009, Baier has been the face of the cable channel’s politics coverage, co-hosting election nights and also moderating debates (including the first GOP primary debate last month). Baier will also continue to co-host his podcast for Fox News Audio.

Republican presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy has some dubious choices for who he wants to advise him should he win the 2024 election: Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur, has repeatedly said that Trump is the “best president” of the 21st century, earning praise from the former president, and during a Sunday appearance on Meet the Press, the candidate went even further.
“I wanna build on the foundation Trump laid,” Ramaswamy told host Chuck Todd. “Frankly, I will invite him as an advisor and mentor. I don’t want to re-learn the same lessons.

The former president is accused of perpetrating an illegal scheme to circumvent the democratic process and stay in power despite losing the 2020 presidential election to Joe Biden, leading to, as Special Counsel Jack Smith described it, “an unprecedented assault on the seat of American democracy.”
Trump’s lawyers, allies in Congress, and propagandists across right-wing media, however, want you to believe he was indicted merely for voicing concerns about the integrity of the electoral process.

Republican presidential candidate Ron DeSantis is talking up the prospect of Democrat and Joe Biden rival Robert Kennedy, Jr., serving in his administration.
In a new interview with right-wing commentator Clay Travis, DeSantis was asked whether he’d consider the anti-vax conspiracy theorist Kennedy as a running mate. DeSantis, who has campaigned vigorously (and fecklessly) to appeal to vaccine skeptics, downplayed that idea, arguing that the Democrat was “averse to our base” on 70 percent of the issues.
But the Florida governor was warm to Kennedy serving in the Cabinet, because...
