Shirley is a biographical movie about the life of Shirley Chisholm movie written and directed by John Ridley starring Regina King.
A schoolteacher, elected to Congress. It was the early 70s, and Shirley Chisholm was also the first African American woman to run for the Presidency of the United States. A woman who ran without any backing, representing the members of the working class, the minorities.
A movie filled with hope, faith, and feminism.
Indeed, more than a racial candidacy, Shirley Chisholm based her campaign on gender politics and minorities, paving the way for a hopeful future.
A film about faith, but above all about clear-cut American politics.
About the movie
Faith, hope, and a lot of political film of good ideas, faith, hope, and political consciousness. A movie with its good ideas well defined (we don’t deny them at any moment) and does everything possible to assert its thesis.

This article contains spoilers for all seasons of Fringe.
Many saw it as the second coming of The X-Files – a fresh retake on a group of agents, scientists, and conspiracy theorists that investigated pseudoscientific cases that normal reasoning could not explain. Fringe was a timely update to the format Fox had perfected in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, and creators J. J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman, and Roberto Orci, mad-scientists in their own right, arguably brought the original Gen X viewers of X-Files and a new millennial audience together. Not by simply rehashing the same old “monster of the week” episodes, but connecting the outlandish science-fiction elements with realistic human experience.
Fringe followed the casework of the Fringe Division, a Federal Task Force supported within the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which includes Agent Olivia Dunham, (Anna Torv) Dr. Walter Bishop (John Noble), and Walter’s estranged son, Peter (Joshua Jackson...

On March 17, actor Lance Reddick died at age 60, Variety confirmed. At the time, reps for Reddick did not respond to Popsugar's request for comment. His exact cause of death had remained unclear until April 6, when People reported, per a death certificate first obtained by TMZ, that the actor died of ischemic heart disease and atherosclerotic coronary artery disease.
Shortly after Reddick's apparent cause of death emerged, the actor's family disputed the coroner's findings. In a statement to People, an attorney representing the family denied that heart disease was the cause of Reddick's death. Reddick was "the most physically fit person I've ever known," Attorney James Hornstein told the outlet, noting that workout facilities were a "contractual requirement" for the late star. "The information appearing on the death certificate is wholly inconsistent with his lifestyle," the attorney's statement continued. "On behalf of [Lance's wife] Stephanie Reddick, the death certificate information is not corroborated...

This post contains spoilers for "John Wick: Chapter 4."
Lance Reddick was one of the best actors working in Hollywood, which made his sudden death on March 17 all the more devastating. His role as Charon in the "John Wick" franchise was just one of the many characters he brought to the screen with depth and precision. Whether Reddick was playing Phillip Broyles on "Fringe," Cedric Daniels on "The Wire," Irvin Irving on "Bosch," or any other of his many, many roles, you knew whatever you were watching would be better because of his presence.
If you've seen "John Wick: Chapter 4", you know that something upsetting happens with Reddick's most loyal concierge, Charon. Reddick played the character in five films — the four "John Wick" movies as well as the upcoming spinoff, "Ballerina" — and he had no idea where the role would take him when he first signed on for the part.

Lance Reddick was an actor with authority.
I don’t just mean that he played lots of authority figures. Lord knows he did. No actor on television in this century may have played more law-enforcement commanding officers than Reddick, who was Baltimore Police task force chief (and later, briefly, commissioner) Cedric Daniels on The Wire, FBI supervising agent Phillip Broyles on Fringe, and LAPD commissioner Irvin Irving on Bosch, among others. Sometimes you read a headline that feels so impossibly off-balance with the world, you can't help but wonder if you're living in a simulation or the world's worst season of "The Truman Show." Today was one of those days, as we tragically lost Lance Reddick, one of the most remarkable figures in film and television. Reddick was best known for playing Cedric Daniels on the hit HBO series "The Wire," which led to a fruitful career playing other authority figures because no one on the planet can pull off a uniform quite like he could.
