If I had a dollar for every time I predicted the twists and turns in the new movie The Collective, I wouldn’t be even close to being a millionaire, for there are not that many twists here in the first place. Directed by Tom DeNucci, The Collective is like a stepping stone for the performers to showcase their skills, and the film unfolds like it’s well aware of that fact. The film has a decent star cast with actors like Don Johnson, Paul Ben-Victor, and Tyrese Gibson added to the mix who do a good job, but it is Lucas Till who gets to play the title role. I should add that he falters badly as he is unable to add to the stakes of this action thriller. See, that’s what Tom Cruise does well in the “Mission Impossible” franchise. He sells you the movie by acting like it really matters.

The MacGyver reboot that starred Lucas Till came to an end in 2021 after a five season, 94 episode run – and now Till is moving on from his MacGyver with the action thriller The Collective, which will be receiving a theatrical, digital, and VOD release (courtesy of Quiver Distribution) on August 4th. "Found 'em! I'll send some guys..." Quiver Distribution has unveiled an official trailer for The Collective, a new action thriller from filmmaker Tom DeNucci. This is yet another of these junk action films, with a similar plot to so many others - involving hitmen and traffickers and taking out the "bad guys". A young recruit to a mysterious agency finds himself going rogue on his first assignment, tracking down a dangerous group of "untouchable" human traffickers. The Collective charts the story of a group of righteous assassins who take aim at a human trafficking ring that's backed by a network of billionaires. Lucas Till stars as Sam Alexander, a "rookie assassin", joined by Ruby Rose, Mercedes Varnado, Paul Ben-Victor, Tyrese Gibson, John Fiore, Levon Panek, plus Don Johnson as their leader. This looks as uninteresting and derivative as anything can, even the action. Will anyone even watch? // Continue Reading ›...

The Dance of the Dead episode of Best Horror Movie You Never Saw was Written by Cody Hamman, Narrated by Jason Hewlett, Edited by Juan Jimenez, Produced by John Fallon and Tyler Nichols, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
Did you ever wonder what it would be like if the zombie apocalypse coincided with prom night? The dead rising from their graves, calling out for brains. Disrupting the school event that’s supposed to be a great, memorable moment in a teen’s life. That’s what happens in the 2008 film Dance of the Dead (watch it Here). Which would have been a great sequel to The Return of the Living Dead if it were part of that franchise. And if you haven’t seen it, it’s definitely The Best Horror Movie You Never Saw.
Although Dance of the Dead was released in 2008, the first draft of the screenplay was written eleven years earlier.

The backbreaking work that stunt performers have put into some of our favorite action scenes is finally getting more attention and appreciation, largely due to shows like "Daredevil" and franchises like "John Wick" that have raised the bar to an entirely new level. The ingenuity of Australian stunt work and the graceful choreography of Hong Kong cinema have found their way into American action films, and audiences are loving it. There are countless stunt performers who are contributing to the new school action we're witnessing, but if the Oscars ever do eventually give out a Best Stunt award, stunt performer Chris Brewster should definitely be on the short list.
Brewster was the fight coordinator for "Black Adam" and has worked in a variety of roles in massive action properties like "Captain America: Civil War," "Loki," "Black Panther," "Guardians of the Galaxy," and "Django Unchained," just to name a few. He...

Taylor Swift’s pop cultural territory expands with every move she makes, whether it’s re-recording her old albums to have complete ownership over them, appearing in films, directing shorts or occasionally writing songs for stories on a whim, like she did most recently with “Carolina” for “Where the Crawdads Sing” (now playing in theaters).

This post contains spoilers for Picard season 2.
When Picard season two found the title character and his crew going back to 2024 after being sent to an alternate universe by Q, fans expected to see some surprising faces. Thus far, the most notable has been a younger Guinan, with Ito Aghayere filling in for Whoopi Goldberg. But some TV fans may have recognized another familiar face in Guinan’s Los Angeles bar, one usually found behind the chaos and not in the center of the action.
Brian Quinn, aka Q of the Impractical Jokers, appears as “Uncle Dale,” a dog walker who arrives to bring home Guinan’s pet Luna. As some observers have noted, this isn’t the first time Quinn has cameoed in a genre show, having shown up in the Syfy series 12 Monkeys and the CBS adventure show MacGyver. Even more interesting is that Quinn’s character...

MacGyver famously can fix anything with two pieces of tape, a paper clip and some balsa wood, but CBS can’t save itself from having to go to trial in two months over profits from the revived series.
Even though the network’s rebirthing of the Lucas Till-led MacGyver wrapped last April, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge has rejected CBS’ move to blow up the 2018 commissions lawsuit over the show. Read details of the case below.
“CBS has not shown that there are no triable issues of material fact,” Judge Maureen Duffy-Lewis said after a summary judgment hearing Tuesday. She added that lawyers for plaintiffs Hanzer Holdings and Arlita Inc. have put forth “sufficient evidence to show that there are triable issues of material facts as to whether there was a contract and whether there was a meeting of the minds.”
Duffy-Lewis set an April 18 trial date.

FX, Lee Daniels and 20th Television are taking another stab at adapting Sam Greenlee’s spy novel The Spook Who Sat By The Door as a TV series after a pilot, written by Leigh Dana Jackson and directed by Gerard McMurray did not go forward at the network.
“We are working on a redeveloping of it,” FX Entertainment President Eric Schrier told Deadline Thursday during an interview tied to the network’s TCA presentation. “Lee Daniels is still involved, and they are working on it. We are reworking on the development side of it, we are not going forward with the current pilot, which Leigh Dana Jackson tweeted about awhile ago.”
The Spook Who Sat By The Door has been a passion project for Daniels who optioned Greenlee’s book in 2018 through his Inclusion Fund. A year later, the project was set up at FX with Jackson as writer and showrunner.

Lucas Till (MacGyver), Nafessa Williams (Black Lightning), Nathan Darrow (Preacher) and Tom Irwin (The Morning Show) have joined the cast of Lee Daniels’ FX pilot The Spook Who Sat by the Door.
They join previously announced cast members Y’lan Noel and Christina Jackson in the TV adaptation of Sam Greenlee’s spy novel. Production is underway.
The potential series will tell the fictional story of Dan Freeman (Noel), a patriot and Vietnam vet, who is recruited as the only Black operative in the CIA as part of an affirmative-action program in the late 1960s. After a very competitive selection process he trains in high-level combat and espionage. MacGyver’s been a household name for quite a few years now thanks to the ingenuity of the titular character and the show, so it’s a little saddening to some that the show is calling it quits after season 5. But it does feel as though some folks never really managed to get on board with the current incarnation of the show, perhaps preferring the original to Lucas Till’s version. In all fairness, it was with some trepidation that some decided to take a chance on the show when it returned in 2016, but it’s also worth stating that Till stepped

Are you ready, MacGyver fans?
The series needs you!
CBS announced last week that it had canceled the popular Friday drama after five well-rated seasons.
MacGyver Season 5 has been a solid option for the network in the 8/7c slot this season, regularly coming in first place for the night in all key demos.
For that reason alone, the cancellation came as a surprise to the fans and everyone closely associated with the show.
As expected, given the success of the series, fans are campaigning to urge CBS to rethink its cancellation announcement.
A Change.org petition has been set up, and it has already eclipsed 11,000 signatures and climbing.
The group has also trended on Twitter in multiple countries with the #SaveMacGyver hashtag, which generated approximately 50,000 tweets in our first 48 hours.
