Spoiler Alert: The following reveals major plot points from NBC’s Chicago Fire’s Season 12 finale “Never Say Goodbye”
Tears were shed in tonight’s Season 12 finale of NBC’s Chicago Fire as actor Eamonn Walker makes his final appearance as Wallace Boden in a series regular capacity. Just get this out of the way, the tears were for many happy reasons and some sad because of course, change is difficult. But, there’s no other way to celebrate Boden than by honoring the character and his achievements which have earned him legions of fans both on and off screen.
Producer Dick Wolf sent Deadline an exclusive statement about Walker’s change in status, below.
“Eamonn was the first actor cast on Chicago Fire, and we knew once he said yes, that we were off and running. His character Chief Wallace Boden was the undisputed leader of Firehouse 51 and, off-screen,...

A big change is coming to Firehouse 51. Longtime Chicago Fire cast member Eamonn Walker will make his last appearance as a series regular in the show’s May 22 season 12 finale. Unsurprisingly, Deputy Chief Boden’s exit will be an emotional one, based on a teaser for the upcoming episode.
Eamonn Walker says goodbye in ‘Chicago Fire’ Season 12 finale
Chicago Fire’s strike-shortened season 12 has already seen a few major cast shakeups. Kara Killmer (Sylvie Brett) and Alberto Rosende (Blake Gallo) left early in the season, and Jocelyn Hudon joined the show midway through the season as paramedic Lyla Novak.
Now, one of the NBC drama’s longest-serving cast members is on his way out. Walker has decided to leave the show after 12 seasons. Though he’s expected to be back in a recurring capacity in the future, his last episode as a series regular will be “Never Say Goodbye.” (NBC...

At an international boarding school, an unassuming, yet rigorous Miss Novak (Mia Wasikowska) joins the teaching staff to instruct a new class on “conscious eating.” Her impressionable teenage students each have their own reasons for joining the class: to improve fitness, reduce their carbon footprint, or get extra credit. Although early lectures focus on mindful consumption, Miss Novak’s discussions soon become increasingly disordered and extreme. A suspicious headmistress (Sidse Babett Knudsen), concerned parents and the failing health of her students lead everyone to question the inscrutable Miss Novak’s motivations for teaching the class. As a few devoted pupils fall deeper under her cult-like tutelage, they’re given a new, even more sinister goal to aspire to: joining the ominous Club Zero.

Gear up, Chicago Fire fans, because it's time to say goodbye.
At least for the season, we'll hang up our helmets and turnouts and leave Chicago's bravest to a much-needed break.
Sadly, we'll be saying a real goodbye to one of the show's longest-tenured cast members.
Eamonn Walker announced his exit recently, and we're told to expect some details about that during next week's finale.
If you've been following our reviews this season, you'll know that we haven't been overly impressed with Chicago Fire since it returned.
But let's be real, not much could keep me from watching.
Once you've invested over a decade of your life into characters, you're basically obligated to see them through to the end.
So, while it has been a disappointing season, that doesn't diminish the fact that the show is still great, and I'll be back in the fall like the loyal lapdog I am.

I hate to say it, but I'm so glad this was the penultimate episode of season 12.
This season has had a couple of decent storylines, but frankly, the majority of it has been pretty dull. For a show predicated on action and drama, there's been a definite shortage of those things over the last dozen episodes.
This installment lacked the exciting follow-ups we hoped to see after Chicago Fire Season 12 Episode 11 and answered none of our questions. What do we have to do to get some background around here?
The episode wasn't all bad. To be entirely fair, the growing bond between Violet and Novak has been lovely to see.
Novak opened up a lot more, giving Violet and the viewers some insight into who she is. For someone who has made it clear she prefers to move on frequently and stay free from attachments, it's starting to become clear...

After a handful of lukewarm episodes so far this season, Chicago Fire has finally delivered the heat we've been missing.
It's been a while since we've been this invested in an hour of TV, but Chicago Fire Season 12 Episode 11 was intense and kept us on the edge of our seats.
We also finally got a taste of the Stellaride vibes we've been missing for so long!
We got a much-needed look into our favorite characters who haven't been given much emotional content to work with this season.
Stella's reaction to Severide's situation reminded us that these two actually do share more than a locker room. The rest of the crew showed how much they cared about Kelly, too.
One of the resounding themes from "The Wrong Guy" was the mystery surrounding two of Chicago Fire's newest characters: Jack Damon and Lyla Novak.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Chicago Fire Season 12 Episode 11 “Inside Man.”] For its 250th episode, Chicago Fire took a page out of Die Hard‘s book: Men break into Firehouse 51 and steal Truck 81—but unbeknownst to them, Severide (Taylor Kinney) hopped on it! The firefighters, of course, call in the Cpd, and during the investigation, Ritter (Daniel Kyri) shares his suspicions about the newest recruit, Damon (Michael Bradway), who has been very vocal about his love for the firehouse (but lied about taking one of Severide’s classes at the academy) and has a reason he’s not sharing for being there. In other words, 51 is not having an easy time replacing Gallo (Alberto Rosende) or Brett (Kara Killmer); Violet (Hanako Greensmith) has brought Novak (Jocelyn Hudon) in full-time but she’s still very much a question mark. “New characters also bring out new sides of all of 51’s residents, so it’s been a...

Coming around the corner on next week's Chicago Fire Season 12 Episode 11 is a joy ride courtesy of someone with a whole lot of nerve.
The promo promises an action-packed episode. Truck 81 is stolen, but the thieves don't seem to know they've got a passenger.
That's right — Severide is along for what may just be his most exciting day on that truck yet.
In the last episode, the writers teased some mysteries surrounding a couple of new characters, so we'll be holding our breath to see if anything new is revealed there.
The quick 30-second promo that aired after Chicago Fire Season 12 Episode 10 ended revealed that Truck 81 was stolen. We don't know who took it, but we do know that Severide was on the truck when it took off.

Former UFC champion and WWE star Ronda Rousey is going from the mats to the writers’ room for an adaptation of her memoirs on Netflix. According to Deadline, Rousey is grappling with screenwriting to create a biopic based on her books, My Fight/Your Fight and Our Fight, which she co-wrote with her sister, Maria Burns Ortiz. Chernin Entertainment could produce, but details about their pact with Netflix remain in limbo.
Initially, Paramount was going to enter the Octagon with Rousey after snagging the rights to her first book, but after the studio played musical chairs with high-ranking positions, the rights lapsed, and Netflix pinned them down. Rousey’s books delve deeper into her personal and professional journey, detailing her struggle with suicidal ideation after her first loss to Holly Holm and raising awareness about the concussions she’d suffered before her Mma career. The text also investigates her complicated relationship with coach Edmond Tarverdyan.

Exclusive: Having found success on so many fronts throughout her career, former UFC champion and WWE star Ronda Rousey has now found a new challenge to tackle and that is the role of screenwriter. Sources tell Deadline that Rousey has closed a deal to adapt the script for her own biopic at Netflix. It would be based on both her memoirs, My Fight/Your Fight and Our Fight, which she co-wrote with her sister, Maria Burns Ortiz. While their deal isn’t closed, sources say Chernin Entertainment is expected to produce.
Netflix declined to comment.
The project was originally set up at Paramount in 2015 when the studio acquired the rights to her first memoir My Fight/Your Fight. Following a handful of regime changes at the studio, the rights would eventually lapse with Netflix ultimately jumping on them after Netflix exec — and long Rousey fan — Michelle Evans championed the project.

The Chicago Fire hiatus ended Wednesday night with a new episode called The Wrong Guy.
Paramedic Lyla Novak (Jocelyn Hudon) was introduced in the previous episode as the new partner for Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith).
Novak stepped in after Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) sent Jared Lennox (Wesam Keesh) packing. Lennox didn’t fit at Firehouse 51, as the team sought a replacement for Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer).
Violet wasn’t sure about Novak at first, but she was won over by Novak’s skills in the field and outgoing personality.
Rome Flynn has also departed from the Chicago Fire cast. He played firefighter Jake Gibson, the character replacing Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende).
More casting changes are in store this season, so be ready One Chicago fans.

Chicago Fire is back from another hiatus, but maybe the writers needed a longer break.
I'm not trying to shade anyone, but let's face it — like many others this season, this episode lacked a certain something. Substance? Interest? Whatever it was, it was missing.
When you have a show with this many characters, and you're constantly introducing new ones, it has to be hard to keep track of the storylines you're putting together. That's no reason to jump the shark, though, and it's starting to feel like that's what's happening.
On Chicago Fire Season 12 Episode 10, we at least had a bit of a theme going on. Most of the stories focused on family.
Hermann learned how to track his kids' locations on their phones, Cruz dealt with a potential threat regarding Javi's adoption, and Severide came close to having to watch Stella fall to her death.
Just another day in Chicagoland,...

Few sacred cows emerge unscathed from director Jessica Hausner’s Club Zero. No matter where audiences sit on the political spectrum, they’re liable find something discomfiting, if not enraging, in the film. Hausner and co-writer Géraldine Bajard can be applauded for the inclusivity of their derision, which is hostile to all forms of complacency. Then again, maybe it’s too easy to toss people and ideas so indiscriminately into the vat of irony while defending nothing, potentially leaving the viewer at a tiresome, cynical impasse.

Across her five previous features, Austrian director Jessica Hausner has developed a distinctly unique tone and now she’s back with her sixth outing, Club Zero. Led by Mia Wasikowska, the dark satire follows a nutrition teacher at an elite school whose relationship with five students takes a dangerous turn. This premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival to mixed reviews (here's ours defending it), because it is a very interesting film that dares to provoke a reaction from the audience by confronting them with freaky blind faith. Mia Wasikowska stars as Miss Novak, a young teacher who takes a job at an elite school and forms a strong bond with five students who join her group called "Club Zero", challenging them to participate in "conscious eating". Combining a pitch-black comedic sensibility with elements of body horror, Club Zero satirizes the contemporary inclinations toward myopic insularity and blind faith brought on by anxieties regarding food, consumerism and environmental catastrophe. Though I think it's digging even deeper than that getting at religion,...

There’s a new diet trend with sinister intentions, courtesy of Jessica Hausner’s latest dark comedy “Club Zero.”
The film, which premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, stars Mia Wasikowska as a nefarious teacher who encourages her students to stop eating altogether. The reason? Other than weight loss and pseudo-environmental concerns, it’s a tactic to gain new cult members.
“Club Zero” competed for the Palme d’Or at Cannes before going on to become a Best Picture nominee at both the Sitges and Munich International Film Festivals.
The official synopsis reads: “At an international boarding school, an unassuming yet rigorous Miss Novak (Wasikowska) joins the teaching staff to instruct a new class on ‘conscious eating.’ Her impressionable teenage students each have their own reasons for joining the class – to improve fitness, reduce their carbon footprint, or get extra credit. Although early lectures focus on mindful consumption, Miss Novak...

Jannik Sinner is a Grand Slam champion!
The 22-year-old Italian tennis player won his first major title, defeating Russia’s 27-year-old Daniil Medvedev in a thrilling five-set match that lasted 3 hours 46 minutes.
This is an impressive feat for Jannik, who showed an immense amount of perseverance and battled back from two sets down. The final scoreline: 3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3.
Even more impressive, Jannik overcame 10-time champion Novak Djokovic in the semifinals, 6-1, 6-2, 6-7 (8), 6-3, and only lost one set in the entire tournament.
Jannik is the first Italian to ever win the Ao singles title and the youngest champion since Novak in 2008.
This is the first final at the Australian Open since 2005 that tennis’s legendary “Big 3” didn’t compete: Novak, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer. 19 years!
It’s also been an entire decade since someone outside of the “Big 3″ won Ao (Switzerland’s Stan Wawrinka won...

Roku Channel has cut a deal with actor B.J. Novak’s ChainFest to air an hourlong special about the food festival that celebrates the culinary creations of chain restaurants.
Novak and chef Tim Hollingsworth created what is billed as an “immersive dining experience” that celebrates the pleasures of fast food and fast casual chain restaurants such as Chili’s, Panda Express, Pizza Hut, Red Robin and more. The event turns the tables on most food festivals by embracing the mass appeal of burgers and fries and such. The concept began in 2021 with a series of stealth pop-up events around Los Angeles. The first ChainFest was staged Dec. 1-3 in Hollywood at Nya Studios.
“We love chains. And it’s not just their playful trademarked dishes or silly mascots that we love, it’s that they have deep emotional resonance with hundreds of millions of people, across generations, across backgrounds. It’s...

Stefanos Tsitsipas contested one Australian Open final in his career, and he felt like he could have won it even though he played against Novak Djokovic.
Playing against Novak Djokovic in Melbourne is never a good idea because he's the most successful man in the history of the Australian Open, as no player dominated more on that court than Djokovic.
Tsitsipas firmly believed that he could beat the Serbian, and technically, he could, but he didn't. The match wasn't that close, but Tsitispas had some moments where you saw a good enough level to win.
Ultimately, he didn't have it for long enough time during the match to really turn it around. Looking back, though, he feels he was close, as he spoke ahead of the 2024 United Cup.
This year’s final was close. I was there, playing a final at the Aussie Open and it felt like that was my moment,...

Bash ended up taking a trip down Memory Lane on one of the most pressure-packed days of his life.
Yes, Bash's Canadian citizenship interview finally rolled around on Transplant Season 3 Episode 8.
The questions asked by the amazingly empathetic interviewer, Mr. Chandler, made Bash ponder events in his life, both recent and further back. These flashbacks served as an effective framing mechanism.
It did take some time to figure out how the narrative was proceeding. Chandler would ask Bash a pointed question, which led to a particular moment in his past. Still, this device definitely worked for the viewer.
Bash lived by the motto that he should answer any question from the interviewer truthfully. He told the truth to Chandler throughout, even to his detriment.
You would have thought that Bash would be a shoo-in for citizenship. He's a doctor, after all, working in a major metropolitan hospital only five years after landing in Canada.

Noted coach Patrick Mouratoglou doesn't think that breaking a racquet is a sign of weakness, as some might say, but it could be the opposite using the example of Novak Djokovic.
Anytime you use the example of Novak Djokovic, you have to qualify the statement that he's not really the norm. He's the exception to the rule because he might be the best ever to do it, but Mouratoglou's points still stand.
Djokovic hasn't been the only one who could channel his frustration into something positive. In fact, many of the historically best players can use it to fuel their desire to win even more, resulting in a positive outcome.
When a player breaks a racquet it doesn't mean that he's weak mentally. Othwerwise Novak is weak mentally. He is breaking racquts. I don't think we can say that Novak is weak mentally. I would say it depends how you break it in a way.

Former player and coach of Roger Federer, Ivan Ljubicic, is excited about Rafael Nadal's comeback at the 2024 Australian Open, hoping to see Nadal push Novak Djokovic slightly.
The matches between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal have always been quite heated and competitive. They are rivals, with Djokovic considering Nadal his greatest rival.
He pushed him to become the best possible version, and the Serbian gives him credit for helping him that way. Nadal's absence in 2023 will make his comeback to tennis even more interesting.
While it's unrealistic to assume that Nadal will give Djokovic trouble, it is possible. Clay might be the surface where he's the likeliest to do so, and by the time it rolls around, he'll hopefully be playing for a while.
That time will allow him to get rid of the rust and find his best tennis just in tennis for Roland Garros. Ivan Ljubicic certainly...

Andrey Rublev is a player who traditionally plays a lot of tournaments every year, but this year might be a bit different, according to his coach.
For a few years now, Andrey Rublev has been part of the tennis elite. Every year proved to be a minor step forward as he works hard every week and plays a lot. For years now, Rublev has been one of the top players with most events played, and that's just his nature.
He loves to play the sport and often pushes more than he should have. Earlier this year, Rublev won Monte-Carlo and immediately went to Banja Luka to play the event there even though his coach urged him not to play. He spoke about that in a recent interview with Tennis Majors.
Of course if you compare with Novak and these guys. Maybe this year, in 2024, we should (skip) some tournaments. But...

Patrick Mouratoglou has been in tennis for many years, and the coach has seen how Novak Djokovic backed up bold claims from earlier in his career.
Novak Djokovic currently sits at 24 Grand Slams, but many years ago, the Serbian was at zero. Despite being at number zero at the time, Djokovic strongly believed that he could dethrone both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
It wasn't well received, as many called him cocky for his comments, but Djokovic knew better. The Serbian knew that if he worked as hard as he could and believed in himself, he'd at least give himself a chance to do so, and he did.
In a recent video posted on his Instagram, the French coach spoke about his belief and the importance of believing in yourself generally.

Daniil Medvedev is one of those hoping to dethrone Novak Djokovic in 2024, but he understands that it's going to be easy.
One of the most defining things about Novak Djokovic is his mental strength. It's not something he was born with but rather something he worked on really hard.
He's talked about it often and some of the methods he uses to remain calm while admitting that he's as nervous as anybody else. After all, as superhuman as Djokovic is, he's actually just a human.
There are many who would like to dethrone him in 2024, like Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Holger Rune, and Daniil Medvedev, but it's going to be tough. Medvedev knows it best, as he talked about it to Gulf News during his stay in Abu Dhabi.

French coach Patrick Mouratoglou has made a stunning admission on why Novak Djokovic is "hated" by tennis crowds.
In a recent interview at the Uts Grand Final in London, Mouratoglou explained why Djokovic, winner of 24 Grand Slams, has been subjected to constant heckling from fans and has never been held on the same level of adulation as the likes of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Djokovic has surpassed both of his longtime rivals in terms of tennis numbers. He has a winning head-to-head record against the pair and has won more Grand Slams, Atp Finals crowns, and Masters titles than Federer and Nadal.
Yet, Djokovic doesn't quite have the same pulling power of fanfare that Federer and Nadal enjoyed throughout their careers. That doesn't mean Djokovic is less charismatic, but it is because he disrupted the hegemony set by Federer and Nadal on the tennis circuit, according to Mouratoglou.

Greek production house Heretic has just wrapped filming on Harry Lagoussis’s feature debut Novak starring Zlatko Burić and Ella Rumpf.
The Greek–Swiss co-production follows an ageing Croatian neuroscientist who lives a reclusive life in Athens, having been branded paranoid for his radical research on the effects of electromagnetic radiation on humans. Decades later, when he is rediscovered by a group of young dreamers who are trying to change the world through his ideas, he decides to join them in their scientific commune, risking his sanity in pursuit of a higher goal.

Andrey Rublev is excited to see Rafael Nadal returning to competition next month but jokes that he felt "more freedom" while he was away from the tour.
Nadal, 37, is set to make his tennis return at the Brisbane International - an Atp 250 event that acts as a precursor for the year's first major. Nadal has received a wild card to play in Queensland state and will use a Protected Ranking in the 2024 Australian Open.

Dmitry Tursunov lavished praise on Novak Djokovic and believes the Serbian star is the "most motivated" player on the Atp Tour.
Djokovic, 36, has remained in peak physical shape, something Tursunov asserts has a massive impact on how he performs on the court. Testament to Djokovic's dedication and longevity, he is the oldest player in the world's Top 20.
Speaking on Championat, the former Atp World No. 20 opined that it would be difficult for the rest of the tour to beat Djokovic regularly if he remained in top-notch physical shape.
"No matter how many contenders there are, as long as Novak is in good shape, it will be very difficult to beat him. After all, in addition to his experience, he also has very good physical shape."
Djokovic did not have any major physical issues with his body throughout 2023, and he was able to pick and choose which tournaments to play based on their status and priority.

Patrick Mouratoglou believes the new generation of tennis stars, including Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Holger Rune, are close to matching Novak Djokovic's level.
Alcaraz, Sinner, and Rune have each defeated Djokovic at least once during the 2023 season and are tipped to carry the sport for the foreseeable future. But when all was said and done this year, Djokovic was still miles clear at the top in terms of points and titles.
The Serbian ace finished the year as world No. 1 for the eighth time in his career - a men's record - and bagged seven titles from 12 tournament participations last season. In terms of consistency and productivity, 2023 was undoubtedly one of Novak Djokovic's best-ever seasons.

Holger Rune described Novak Djokovic's level of play at 36 as "unbelievable" and admitted it would be tough to challenge him if he sustained his form.
Djokovic was the Atp's best player in 2023 by a mile. Despite playing a shorter schedule than usual, he finished last season with the most titles on the Atp tour. The Serbian won seven titles, including three Grand Slams.
He is the first man to win three majors in a single season on four occasions, and had it not been for a shanked drive volley in the fifth set of this year's Wimbledon final, Djokovic would have, in all likelihood, completed the first Calendar Grand Slam by a male player since 1969.
Despite that miss, Djokovic was pleased with himself at the manner in which he played all season to fend off not just one, but multiple challengers along the way.
Djokovic outlasted Carlos Alcaraz in the year-end No.

World No. 21 Francisco Cerundolo affirmed that Novak Djokovic is "not arrogant" and "doesn't belittle" his fellow pros.
Public opinion about Djokovic has been mixed throughout his glittering career. Since he burst onto the scene as the third member of the already-established duopoly of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, Djokovic struggled to win over the hearts of tennis fans.
Djokovic's on-court demeanor has also been mistaken as a perceived lack of sportsmanship. His dogged competitiveness and emotional outbursts have led to a section of tennis fans portraying him as somewhat egocentric.
Recently, Djokovic admitted that he's learned to thrive in hostile environments. Even after amassing a record 24 Grand Slams and many other records, he has never commanded the lion's share of fan support in his matches.
In the past, contentious claims on equal pay and even his stance against Covid-19 vaccination have landed him in hot water with the tennis fraternity,...

It is the Atp's year-end Awards Week, but surprisingly, Novak Djokovic and his coach, Goran Ivanisevic, are not collecting any trophies.

Nikolay Davydenko has explained why Novak Djokovic has continued dominating the tour and fending off the challenge of the new generation of tennis players.
During his playing career, Davydenko locked horns with Djokovic, a former World No. 3 from Russia who retired from professional tennis in 2014. In eight tour-level meetings, he defeated the 24-time Grand Slam champion twice.

Nick Kyrgios and Boris Becker both like to be respected, and that clearly showed in their recent spat on social media.
The 28-year-old made quite a few media appearances over the past few weeks, and during one of those, Kyrgios made a claim about past generations of players, saying they wouldn't stand a chance today.
One of the past leaders on the Atp Tour, Boris Becker, didn't like that statement, and he made sure to voice his opinion on social media, saying that Kyrgios has no "credibility" because he has never won a singles Grand Slam title.
That was a statement that the Australian didn't like, and he immediately hit back at the German coach with a series of tweets, trying to prove his statement about credibility wrong.

"Hahahaha this bloke speaking about credibility…… last I checked you were the one hiding assets no?"
After mentioning the incident, which forced...

Spoiler alert: This contains spoilers from Season 1 of “My Life With the Walter Boys,” now streaming on Netflix, as well as the book of the same name.
Who doesn’t love a love triangle? If the “My Life With the Walter Boys” audience is any indication, millions do. The new series, based on Ali Novak’s 2014 book, earned 7.5 million total views in its first four days on Netflix. It has also earned several comparisons to other popular teen dramas, but showrunner Melanie Halsall isn’t worried about that.
The story follows 15-year-old Jackie (Nikki Rodriguez), who moves from New York City to Colorado after the sudden death of her parents and sister. Now living with her mother’s best friend and her ten sons, Jackie finds herself interested in two brothers, while also trying to stay focused on her goal of getting into Princeton — and navigating an entirely new world.

Coco Gauff is a Grand Slam champion, but she wants to add more, something famed coach Rick Macci could see happening, but she'll need to improve.
The state of the Wta right now is quite interesting. On the one hand, there is Iga Swiatek, who is clearly above the rest of the field, but plenty of other players are capable of challenging.
Marketa Vondrousova won Wimbledon, Gauff won the US Open, and Aryna Sabalenka won the Australian Open. Despite being above the rest, the Pole didn't dominate the Grand Slam level, so it's pretty wide open right now.
There are several players capable of winning one, and Coco Gauff is certainly capable of doing so. She'll need to add to her game because other players are improving, and she's behind Swiatek in terms of experience.
That's why according to noted tennis coach, Rick Macci, the field right now is wide open,...

Following Novak Djokovic's record-setting season in 2023, the debate on whether he is better now than his great rival Roger Federer six years ago.
Federer, who turned 36 in 2017, put together one of the greatest comeback seasons in tennis history. With endless doubts about his long-term playing career following a five-month injury hiatus, he stormed to win the 2017 Australian Open.
The throwback year saw Federer return to his glory heydays, adding a second Grand Slam title of the season at Wimbledon and recovering his spot in the Top 2. Thanks to his coach, Ivan Ljubicic, the most conspicuous improvement was his renewed confidence and ability to tweak his backhand.
While the magnitude of Federer's accomplishments in 2017 and to a lesser extent in the early part of 2018 almost mirrors what Djokovic has done this year (even though the Serbian star statically has better numbers), there is a huge difference in that comparison according to Patrick Mouratoglou.

Roger Federer is trailing both Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal in the Grand Slam race, but he wishes them longevity because it's 'good for the game.'
Roger Federer is one of the most ambitious tennis players ever. His career didn't happen by chance but rather through work. He wanted to become as great as he was because that competitive drive was always present.
Stories about his competitiveness, even as a kid, are legendary; we saw how that unfolded. He's not the only one like that in history, as we'd find out later. Nadal and Djokovic are both equally competitive and ultimately achieved a bit more than him when it comes to the Grand Slams, surpassing the Swiss Maestro.
It weakened his claim to the Goat status in many people's eyes, but he's not bitter about it. A true gentleman on and off the court, Federer wants to see his...

Jacqueline Novak’s comedy special “Jacqueline Novak: Get On Your Knees” will premiere on Netflix Jan. 23, 2024. The project is directed by Natasha Lyonne (“Poker Face”), who also serves as an executive producer.
Filmed at The Town Hall Theater in New York City, the special features the final performance of Novak’s touring stand-up show “Get On Your Knees,” which premiered in 2019 and sold out multiple times. This 90-minute “concert film-meets-comedy special” revolves around the blowjob and is described as “both raunchy and poignant, an unexpectedly philosophical, coming-of-age tale of triumph that pushes the boundaries of stand-up,” according to the press release.
“Never in my lifetime could I imagine seeing such a hilarious, rigorous, and gut tingling semiotic deconstruction of the phallus in the theatre,” praised “Emily in Paris” actor Jeremy O. Harris of “Get On Your Knees.” “This felt as if Andrea Dworkin and Spaulding Gray had a child they...

Novak Djokovic has been compared to many players in the way he approaches tennis, but Rennae Stubbs actually threw out Serena Williams as a comparison.
While they are somewhat different players, there are certainly many parallels between them. Both Djokovic and Serena are widely considered the greatest tennis players ever to live, which makes them an obvious comparison.
On another note, the way they approach tennis is what really Stubbs is talking about. The former player coached Serena Williams at her last ever event, which was the US Open and knows her pretty well.
She's obviously quite familiar with Djokovic, having watched him for most of his career, and the goal-oriented mind of both is what sticks out.
As Williams got older, she started to focus more on those events that really matter in terms of legacy (Grand Slams), which is what most legendary players do.

Novak Djokovic has been very picky about his schedule for many years now, and according to former player Rennae Stubbs, it's why he's been as dominant as he is.
While Djokovic is one of the best players in the world, he's getting up there in age. He's not a cyborg and certainly can feel the effects of matches every time he plays. That in itself makes scheduling quite important because if you push yourself too much, you might find it too difficult to compete late in the season.
Djokovic has been very diligent about that for a few years, as he generally picks his spots wisely. It's worked really well for him so far and is, according to Stubbs, the reason why he's still so dominant on the Atp Tour.
That and the pandemic because, for Stubbs, skipping a good chunk of the season due to not being vaccinated helped him preserve his body,...

Novak Djokovic doesn't need endorsements of his greatness because he showed it many times, but Nick Kyrgios still gave it to him.
The relationship between Nick Kyrgios and Novak Djokovic has been quite interesting. Kyrgios didn't have any spectacular opinion of Djokovic before the pandemic when he tore into the Serbian about his casual style of going about things.
The Australian continued branding Djokovic in certain ways for disregarding the severity of the pandemic, but they were able to reconcile when Kyrgios spoke up for Djokovic during the deportation saga.
Since then, they've been on pretty good terms despite Djokovic beating Kyrgios in the 2022 Wimbledon final. The Australian came to appreciate Djokovic for all he did, giving him credit whenever possible.
The same thing happened in a recent interview with Piers Morgan as Kyrgios called Djokovic one of the greatest athletes.
