Dave Holmes, the ex-manager of the British rock band Coldplay, has sued the band for £10 million ($12.3 million) he believes he is contractually owed for two unreleased Coldplay albums.
Holmes left as Coldplay’s band manager in August 2022 after working with them for 22 years.
The band is currently being managed by Phil Harvey, Mandi Frost and Arlene Moon, who have worked with Holmes and the band previously.
Holmes filed a claim to the High Court of Justice, alleging that the band had backed out on a promised contract for their tenth and eleventh albums. It was agreed in the contract that the manager would be paid a commission.
Additionally, Holmes declared that the band had attempted to demote him from manager to head of touring.

Little Coldplay is so cute!
The British rock band won Best Tour at the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday night, where lead singer Chris Martin brought up three kid dancers -- who performed a choreographed routine with Katy Perry to kick off the show -- pretending to be the group's other three members, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion.

And the award for best acceptance speech goes to... Three adorable kids, who first performed alongside Katy Perry during her opening number at the 2017 iHeartRadio Music Awards, were enlisted by none other than Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to thank the music biz for honoring the band with Best Tour. John Legend presented Coldplay with one of Sunday evening's most buzzed about awards, which was followed by Martin bringing two little girls and one boy up to the podium. The "Hymn for the Weekend" crooner even grabbed at a chair for the backup dancer to stand on in order to reach the mic! Too cute. Posing as bandmates Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman...

Coldplay braved the rain Monday for a five-track set on the Today Show, highlighted by three songs from their 2015 LP, A Head Full of Dreams. The quintet opened with the stadium-sized "Hymn for the Weekend," which found frontman Chris Martin crooning from behind a piano adorned with flowers. Guitarist Jonny Buckland and bassist Guy Berryman added additional percussion throughout, replicating the album version's massive groove.

In the week since David Bowie's death, many artists and entertainers have come forward to share their memories of the late rock icon. But none have been as darkly humorous as the story from Coldplay's Jonny Buckland and Will Champion, who told NME that Bowie once turned down a chance to collaborate with the band, with a brutally honest assessment. The story goes like this: Coldplay once wrote a song with a "Bowie-type character," and Chris Martin sent the former Thin White Duke a letter asking him if he wanted to lend his voice to the track. Bowie's cutting response: "It's not a very good song, is it?" As Champion marveled, "He was very discerning — he wouldn't just put his name to anything. I'll give him credit for that." And you thought that Extras scene was fiction.

It's suddenly become very clear why Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Lawrence, and Annabelle Wallis have all fallen for Chris Martin. The Coldplay frontman and his bandmate Johnny Buckland stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday to promote their new album, A Head Full of Dreams, and Chris really turned on the British charm during his interview. When asked how he was handling all the changes in his personal life - Chris and Gwyneth consciously uncoupled back in 2014 but have been spotted on numerous outings together with their two kids, Apple and Moses - the rocker got philosophical and used the British term "alkalize," then joked about being a fan of Harry Styles and begging the One Direction member to open a barbershop with him called Hairy Stylez. Watch the video above now and just try not to fall in love with him.

From the fun and exciting promos, Cocktail looks like a good romantic comedy that looks to appeal across the board. Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and debutante Diana Penty are the friends caught in ménage a trois of friendship and love in London. What caught everyone’s attention was some of that arresting music by Pritam that made sure ‘Tumhi Ho Bandhu’ stuck with you, and left you wanting to hear more. Pritam has also borrowed Honey Singh’s brilliant track ‘Angreji Beat’ which doesn’t come with the album, but the album would be incomplete without such a fabulous tune! Coming off a strong year of good and fun albums like Agent Vinod, and Ferrari ki Sawaari, Pritam definitely impresses here, and he can definitely be counted on to deliver some good songs for a romantic comedy like this one.

That's a rarity in today's pop world, where artists are overexposed and their music often comes second to what they're promoting in tandem with it.
Adele scored an unlikely critical and commercial triumph with "21," last year's best-selling album, all based off the artistry of songs like "Rolling in the Deep" and "Someone Like You." And she'll be richly rewarded come Sunday, when the Grammys hand out their trophies at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. While Kanye West is the lead nominee with seven, Adele, who's up for six, will be the act who dominates – well, at least that's what We think.

The Coldplay singer - who is married to Gwyneth Paltrow - is famed for his bouncy moves on stage and even he acknowledges his dancing is not conventional. During an appearance on UK series The Graham Norton Show, he revealed: 'I dance in a strange, hopping, English way - it's not technically dancing, it's more like some kind of fit.' Chris Martin has revealed that Coldplay were in two minds over whether to guest on The X Factor. Speaking to Q magazine, the 'Paradise' singer confirmed that ITV producers have approached the band about appearing on the show. "Sometimes the things that you're offered split the band and that always means you end up not doing them," Martin explained. The 34-year-old, who insisted last month that Coldplay would never perform on the programme, said that he - along with guitarist Jonny Buckland and manager Phil Harvey - were in favour of the idea; with bassist Guy Berryman and drummer Will Champion against (more)...

Coldplay's Chris Martin told a concert audience last night (November 24) that the band are sometimes referred to as a "s**t Radiohead". The singer played an intimate set as part of Mencap's Little Noise Sessions at St John-at-Hackney Church in London. Arriving from a television appearance on the BBC's The Graham Norton Show, Martin said: "To be quite frank I felt quite a tw*t doing that show. I'm never going to do chatshows again." First it was Brazil mastermind and American-born Anglophile Terry Gilliam calling the shots behind the camera for French-Canadian indie rockers Arcade Fire. Then it was the coffee-selling engineer of Laura Palmer’s death David Lynch giving queues to the 1980s British invaders Duran Duran. Now it’s the individual behind Depeche Mode and U2’s visual output Anton Corbijn shooting the live musical stylings of Coldplay. Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland, and Will Champion’s band is the latest musical number to be featured as part of the YouTube, Vevo, and American Express live streaming concert series dubbed Unstaged. Coldplay's Chris Martin doesn't like to talk about his marriage to Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow, but he's Ok joking about it.
On Tuesday, as he and Coldplay's Jonny Buckland taped an appearance for Thursday's episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Chris had a little fun about his relationship with the actress.
"You have a great relationship and two precious kids. And we love Gwyneth," Ellen said, trying to coax something out of the British rocker. "She's been here many times."
"She's been a great beard for me now, for 10 years," Chris said, tongue-in-cheek.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin is notorious for refusing to talk about his relationship with wife Gwyneth Paltrow -- they barely publicly acknowledge their marriage and never walk red carpets together -- but he didn't storm off the stage when Ellen DeGeneres brought up his famous wife during a recent performance.
Martin visited Ellen's show with guitarist Jonny Buckland, where the band performed "Paradise" and "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" from their upcoming album, "Mylo Xyloto."
Ellen prodded Martin about Paltrow, and he responded coyly, "She's been a great beard for me now, for 10 years."
"I know that this is your first relationship," Ellen prompted. "So, really before you were in a relationship with Gwyneth. You didn't have a serious relationship at all? What was the longest relationship you were in before Gwyneth?"
"I think a lot of people like me and Jonny join bands because we were really not doing so well,...

Coldplay drops their fifth studio album Tuesday (Oct. 24), titled "Mylo Xyloto" (pronounced My-loe Zy-loe-toe) and the reviews so far are mostly positive.
Jerry Shriver of USA Today says, "Thematically and musically, 'Mylo Xyloto' does come across as a medium-weight and up-to-date blend of middle-period U2, the Beach Boys' 'Pet Sounds' and Coldplay's last three albums."
The Huffington Post's Judah Joseph writes, "Certainly a new sound from Coldplay, 'Mylo Xyloto' manages to simultaneously draw in a new crowd and not alienate Coldplay's loyal fans ... the best things in life are ripened with age, and Coldplay's fifth studio album is testament to that. From masterfully cutting musical interludes from club-bangers and making them into their own tracks to toying with no-gap playback (to have songs feed directly into one another seamlessly), Coldplay has risen to the challenge of surpassing your previous album's success."

Austin, Texas — For any English band, playing this Texas hipster mecca's long-running PBS music show "Austin City Limits" is a big checkmark on the rock-and-roll bucket list. Coldplay got their second hash mark on Thursday night, taping a 90-minute special edition of the 37-year-old show just 24 hours before they take the stage for a much bigger crowd just around the corner at Zilker Park as part of the three-day Austin City Limits festival.
Like plugging in at New York's Radio City or Nashville's Grand Ole Opry, it's the kind of honor that most bands would kill for just once. Only this time, unlike their 2005 appearance, there was also some "Masterpiece Theater"-style acting involved, as they were taping a show...
