On Oscar night, details matter. Who are you wearing? What are you nominated for? Who won? Just don’t expect everyone to know the answers.
“What movie won?” Rick Hilton asked as he and wife Kathy Hilton assumed position at the end of a glamorous queue to get into Vanity Fair’s 30th anniversary Oscar party in Beverly Hills on Sunday after 10 p.m. They asked their son, Kathy says, but no clue. Fortunately, a gentleman standing directly in front of the couple had the answer. “It was Oppenheimer,” he said, not mentioning the awkwardness of Al Pacino’s best picture reveal. Some details can be saved for Monday morning. Plus, there are more rapid-fire questions to field.
What movie is that? Is it based on a true story? Who was the emcee?
“Oh, Jimmy Kimmel. I like him,” Rick said, smiling, in a totally relatable moment because who doesn’t love Jimmy Kimmel?...

Two weeks after what would have been Juice Wrld’s 25th birthday — and a week after the four-year anniversary of his death — the rapper’s estate has shared a new song titled “Lace It,” featuring Eminem.
Both rappers warn of the dangers of addiction over their respective verses on the Benny Blanco-produced track, with Eminem — who survived his own battle with drugs — listing some of his musical peers that didn’t make it: Lil Peep, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Shock G, Pimp C, Prince, and Michael Jackson.

New York City has honored the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard with his own day shortly after Mayor Eric Adams declared November 9th as Wu-Tang Day. As reported by Gothamist, November 15th will now be known as Ol’ Dirty Bastard Day following a resolution passed by the City Council earlier this week.
A founding member of Wu-Tang Clan, Ol’ Dirty Bastard (born Russell Jones) was born on November 15th, 1968, and died in 2004 of an accidental drug overdose — just two days short of his 36th birthday. This past November 15th would have been his 55th birthday.
Sponsored by Democratic Councilmember Chi Ossé, the resolution passed with 39 City Council members voting in favor and five against. “It being the 50th year of hip-hop, I wanted to recognize some of my personal favorite artists and contributors to the culture,” Ossé told City & State New York. “He’s from Central Brooklyn. We do rep Odb in the Brooklyn Zoo.

New York City is set to honor Wu-Tang Clan in a big way for the 30th anniversary of their seminal debut, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Not only has Mayor Eric Adams declared November 9th as Wu-Tang Day, but the Empire State Building will be lit up in the group’s signature black and yellow colors.
Released on November 9th, 1993, 36 Chambers was an instant classic as the group of nine rappers — RZA, Gza, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killa, Inspectah Deck, U-God, and Masta Killa — came together to spit hardcore rhymes over kung fu movie samples and hard-hitting snares on songs like “Protect Ya Neck” and “C.R.E.A.M.”
Earlier this year, RZA wrapped up the final season of his Hulu series, Wu-Tang: American Saga, documenting the rise of Wu-Tang Clan, which he discussed in an interview with Consequence. The group’s mastermind is currently celebrating the...

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and music go together like the Ninja Turtles and pizza; the two are intrinsically linked. From the iconic theme song of the 1987 animated series, to Vanilla Ice’s tie-in “Ninja Rap” for 1991’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, and even their semi-forgotten 1990 stage rock and roll musical Coming Out of Their Shells, no matter the genre, these green teens are always rocking big tunes.
With music playing such a big role in the Turtles’ history, director Jeff Rowe and executive producer Seth Rogen had to be extra thoughtful when selecting the songs for the soundtrack of the Turtles’ latest film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. With its distinctive animation style, the feature film finds our pizza-loving Turtles escaping their sheltered existence in the sewers as they seek to be accepted as normal teenagers through acts of heroism.

With a record deal under their belt, Wu-Tang: An American Saga’s Season 2 finale focused on celebrating Wu-Tang’s arrival as a formidable force in music.
The hour, aptly titled “As High as Wu-Tang Get,” opened on the set of the Clan’s music video for “Protect Ya Neck.” Those scenes, which were mostly shown in black-and-white, felt intimate and authentic — as though we’d stepped back in time — as the iconic video (their first ever) came together.

The Wu-Tang Clan staged their first concert in over a year Friday at Morrison, Colorado’s scenic Red Rocks Amphitheatre, a gig that featured the rap collective backed by the Colorado Symphony.
The Denver orchestra took a break from its usual schedule of Mozart and film scores to form an unlikely pairing with the Wu-Tang Clan, accompanying the RZA, Ghostface Killah, Raekwon and company on tracks like “C.R.E.A.M.” and “Protect Ya Neck” (via Stereogum).

The Wu-Tang Clan set their sites on world domination in the new trailer for Season Two of the biographical series, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, premiering September 8th on Hulu.
Where Season One was steeped in pre-Wu-Tang lore, delving into the events that led to the group’s formation, Season Two will ostensibly center around the creation of their classic debut, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). The first scene in the new trailer even opens with the RZA (played by Ashton Sanders) listening to one of the album’s most famous samples,...

On one chilly January night in Utah, Sacha Jenkins turned the Sundance Film Festival into a raucous Wu-Tang Clan reunion, assembling luminaries including the Ghostface Killah, Cappadonna, U-God, Masta Killa and the legendary hip-hop ensemble's producing impresario The RZA. The crowd, which featured a thicker-than-Sundance-average haze of marijuana smoke and more expletive-filled call-and-response, roared through the first two hours of Jenkins' four-hour Showtime documentary Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men.

Luke Cage showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker has confirmed that there will be multiple musical performances on the show and that some of the artists who will appear include Faith Evans, Method Man, Charles Bradley, The Delfonics, and Raphael Saadiq. This comes on the heels of the teaser attached to the Daredevil season 2 finale being set to Nas' Made You Look and the official Sdcc teaser trailer being set to Ol' Dirty Bastard's Shimmy Shimmy Ya. Add that to the fact that every episode title is a Gang Starr song and it's very clear that hip-hop permeates all throughout the upcoming Netflix and Marvel collaboration. That fact alone sets it apart from the likes of Daredevil and Jessica Jones. "Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad in terms of the score. While Dr. Teeth, frontman to the Muppet ensemble The Electric Mayhem, may share some dental predilections with late Wu Tang Clan eccentric Ol' Dirty Bastard, their musical outputs have traditionally been fairly different. That ends today with the release of a Mylo the Cat YouTube assemblage blending Dr. Teeth with Odb's timeless work on 1995's "Shimmy Shimmy Ya." It's only 78 seconds and it follows in the footsteps of Mylo's Muppet mashups of "So What'cha Want," "Hip Hop Hooray" and "The Humpty Dance," which all also clocked in at under 1:40, the perfect amount of time to retain amusement without overstaying its welcome. Wu-Tang Clan have a release date for their oft-delayed new album "A Better Tomorrow," and they're sticking with it: mark Dec. 2 on your calendar. Perhaps as a sign of good faith, the crew has dropped another actual new song, "Ruckus in B Minor," from the set. Pre-order has also gone up, and fans can get three tracks straightaway if they so choose to do so: "Ruckus" plus two other previously released tunes, "Keep Watch" and "Ron O'Neal." What may also surprise Wu-Tang supporters -- aside from the shock that the group is releasing their first effort in seven years -- is that the voice of the late Ol' Dirty Bastard (aka Odb) will be, in some manner, present on the set. Here is the tracklist for Wu-Tang Clan's "A Better Tomorrow": 1. Ruckus In B Minor 2. Felt 3. 40th Street Black / We Will fight 4. Mistaken Identity 5. Hold the Heater 6. Crushed...

Thanks to the popularity of Game of Thrones, more people are naming their babies after Daenerys Targaryen than ever before. In 2013, more than twice as many parents chose to name their baby girls "Khaleesi" than chose its soundalike "Kelis," according to data from the Social Security Administration.
Which got us thinking: In ten years or so, parents are going to have a very hard time determining whether their children's new friends are named after a dragon queen from a fantasy series or a female rapper who was once married to Nas. So, future parents, here's a refresher on Kelis vs.

Judd Apatow, the director behind Knocked Up, Funny People and This Is 40, has added basketball star LeBron James to an already varied cast of his new movie Trainwreck.
It becomes what is likely to be the only ever film to star James alongside Wu-Tang Clan rapper Method Man, pro wrestler John Cena, and Tilda Swinton. Also appearing is Barkhad Abdi in one of his first roles since his Bafta-winning breakthrough Captain Phillips, as well as Us comedian Bill Hader alongside bright young things Ezra Miller and Brie Larson. The comedy, about a woman trying to wrest back control of her life, is written by feted standup comedian Amy Schumer who will also take a starring role.

But on his IFC comedy series, Portlandia, he's absolutely clueless when it comes to hip-hop history. The Ol' Dirty Bastard documentary "Dirty: Platinum Edition,” didn't have a chance to be screened for the audience of the deceased rapper's friends and family the other night. The film was set to world premiere as the headliner of the NuHo Online Film Festival. The premiere at the Brooklyn Academy of Music got off to a rocky start and stayed that way throughout the evening. First, the Q and A session was moved to the start of the evening which amounted to friends, family, and then really anyone who had a story about Odb getting on stage and talking. Then after more than a few technical problems in attempting to connect RZA to the event via Skype, the death blow to the evening arrived. A cease and desist order from Odb's estate arrived. The estate which is administrated by Odb's widowed wife Icelene Jones, has consistently denied use...

Nine years after the death of Wu-Tang Clan co-founder Ol' Dirty Bastard, the entertainment world has yet to find an heir to his signature blend of unstable antics and verbal genius. Not in his son Barson, who fills in for his late father when the Wu performs live. Not in Odd Future or in Kendrick Lamar or in Danny Brown, three artists who, by comparison, have their shit way together. And certainly not in shock princess Miley Cyrus. No, Odb, was one of kind, and worthy of retrospection. Enter Dirty, a long-gestating documentary produced and directed by Odb's cousin Stephon Turner, a.k.a. Raison Allah, and featuring interviews with the Brooklyn hip-hop star's family, friends, and Wu-Tang compatriots. After watching Impact wrestling last night I was embarrassed. I was embarrassed as a wrestling fan, by the product and by admitting I even watched it. Tna is crumbling before our eyes.
The best possible thing Dixie could do is Not resign Hulk Hogan but unfortunately she doesn’t know how to make good business decisions, so she will.
Her “heel” turn is painful to watch. Dixie may own Tna but she sure as hell shouldn’t be the face of it. Not only was her promo horrible, it wasn’t even believable.
Thank God after that we were treated to a great match by Austin Aries and Jeff Hardy. It’s matches like theirs that keep me watching. But…
Then we’re forced to sit through Bromance in the ring fighting with Odb and Eric Young? Why?! How is that segment even making it to TV?!
Aces and Eights is a laughing stock.

Remember the '90s? Sure you do. The music was grungier. The Marky Marks were Markier. You had to choose between your phone and the Internet. And the ponytails were occasionally sideways.
Well, if you somehow missed the decade due to an interference in the time-space continuum — or you just happen to be really young — we've assembled 15 movie clips that best represent what life, or at least movies, were like during that glorious decade. A '90s time capsule, if you will. So sit back, relax and throw on your favorite starter jacket.

The latest late music icon to possibly return to the stage as a hologram is Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, who could receive the treatment by way of son Jason Bonham. The younger Bonham, who spearheads the Led Zeppelin Experience tour, says he'd be interested in playing alongside Dad during his current opening act for Heart.
"It's important to me to have something in addition to the music, that was the whole point of it," Bonham told Legendary Rock Interviews. "When I first started doing this, I was working with some of the people behind some of the biggest tribute tours like Pink Floyd Experience, The Beatles, and now I'm doing it. It's imperative that I continue putting together the best shows and take it to the next level. I'm talking to people about holograms, and my dream is to do the hologram drum solo with Dad next to me.
