Fallout 4 has a handful of possible endings, but Prime Video’s new TV show makes only one of them possible — and since Todd Howard claimed the show was canon, it effectively means that we know just how the events in the Commonwealth unfolded. If you think it’s all about the Prydwen, though, you’re greatly mistaken: there’s a lot more going on there, and “the Brotherhood won” is not the correct answer.
The Prydwen Suggests the Brotherhood Won
While many articles argued that the Brotherhood of Steel airship in the Fallout TV show wasn’t the Prydwen, that claim has since been debunked. The one-of-a-kind technological wonder officially remains one-of-a-kind, so its arrival to the West Coast suggests that the Brotherhood of Steel certainly didn’t lose the fight with the Institute.
But that leaves us with two potential canon endings.

Are we as a human race still holding Damon Lindelof's feet to the fire for the ending of "Lost" or some of the sillier aspects of "Prometheus"? In the year of our lord 2023? Couldn't be me! For years, the somewhat divisive writer had earned the scorn of fans for some high-profile missteps a time or two in the past, but all of that should've been water under the bridge a long, long time ago. When he guided HBO's "The Leftovers" to the finish line back in 2017, he'd successfully wrapped a bow on one of the greatest shows of all time. Incredibly enough, he then followed that up with yet another huge success by doing the impossible and actually creating a worthy successor to Alan Moore's seminal graphic novel "Watchmen," telling a vital and unabashedly political story about where those "heroes" would've logically ended up years after the conclusion of the original comic.

Comic Week may have come to a close Thursday, but not every Big Brother houseguest turned out to be a superhero.
With two vetoes available to shake up the house this week, Jag moved forward with his plan to target lovebirds Cory and America. After Blue used her veto to save herself, the “invisible Hoh” (who everyone knew was Jag) nominated America for eviction. Jag then took the floor to pull Mama Fe off the block, setting the stage for the showmance’s inevitable downfall. As expected, Cory took that second hot seat. After the ceremony, it took America all...

The creators of Jackass Forever — that’d be head jackass Johnny Knoxville, longtime director of jackassery Jeff Tremaine, Spike “Patron Saint of Overall Jackassitude” Jonze and the rest of the battered, banged-up gang — have asked that critics, reviewers, pundits and wags not reveal the specifics of what you’ll see in their new (final?) collection of gonzo skaterat sadism. It’s a bit of a silly request, as words on a page can’t possibly describe the effect of witnessing firsthand what these DIY daredevils put themselves and others through over the course of 90 minutes.

We've made a complete and chronological timeline of the events of Watchmen, from the original book to the HBO show. It...wasn't easy.
This article contains nothing but spoilers for Watchmen, both the book and the HBO series.
HBO’s Watchmen timeline is non-linear and occasionally confusing (or “infuriating” as Dr. Manhattan puts it) in its use of time. The book from which it draws inspiration is similarly non-linear and occasionally confusing in its use of time. To make matters even trickier, the show expands upon and even retcons events that take place or are alluded to in the book.
So what’s a fan to do? Why, make a complete and chronological Watchmen timeline, of course! That’s a perfectly sane and normal activity for any well-adjusted adult, and it certainly didn’t give me any severe migraines or make me question my own perception of time at any point.

The most recent episode of Watchmen went back in time to show us the birth of costumed crimefighters. It also gave us a fleeting glimpse of the Minutemen, the original crime-fighting team that would inspire superheroes for years to come. Most of the members of the Minutemen were out-of-focus and in the background in the episode […]

Damon Lindelof wasn’t lying when he said his version of Watchmen was a “remix” of the original graphic novel. Part sequel, part prequel, and also part retcon, the show has surpassed every single expectation you probably had going in. With this latest episode, told primarily through flashbacks, the original superhero team known as the Minutemen […]

Judd Crawford’s killer is revealed in this week’s Watchmen. So is the man underneath Hooded Justice’s headwear. Turns out, they’re the same guy.
As many of you guessed, William Reeves — Angela’s grandfather — was the true identity of the masked Minutemen member. And as a side effect of swallowing all those Nostalgia pills last episode, Det. Abar gets a firsthand glimpse of the legendary superhero’s origin story as she relives the key moments of his life. Unfortunately, it comes at a price: Due to complications from ingesting someone else’s memories, Sister Night’s own...

Watchmen keeps throwing twists at us week after week, and while some of them have been uncovered, there's one huge mystery the show has yet to answer: Will Reeves's past. Considering the integral role he plays to the plot, his story might be the key to solving Judd Crawford's murder. But although it's certain Will is indeed Angela's grandfather and the boy who survived the Tulsa Race Massacre, not much else is known about him.
Of course, that hasn't stopped fans from speculating about his true identity. In fact, Reddit user calgodot theorized Will might be one of the more mysterious figures of the graphic novel: Hooded Justice. A vigilante who worked with the original Minutemen, Hooded Justice's identity was a puzzle even to his fellow heroes. If Will is the man hidden behind the hood, it would settle an old mystery and connect the show even more with the beloved graphic novel.

Our genre television podcast hosts take a closer look at the opening episodes of Watchmen on HBO to decide what’s really going on.
When we decided to take on Watchmen for the Sci Fi Fidelity podcast, we had no idea how different the series would be from its graphic novel source material. The show has proven to be exactly the “remix” that showrunner Damon Lindelof said it would be, but a central question of our podcast discussion is this: Do you have to be familiar with the 1986 Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons comic in order to understand what’s happening in the HBO series?
Other points of analysis include why this version of Watchmen decided to make race a central factor, whether or not police chief Judd Crawford is a good guy, why the costumed vigilantes like Red Scare and Looking Glass have such simplistic costumes,...

HBO's Watchmen moves away from the work of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons with the real story of Hooded Justice.
This article contains major Watchmen spoilers.
The first episode of Watchmen focused primarily on establishing the 2019 of its world, and making certain new characters got sufficient introductions, and as unencumbered by the legacy elements of the comic as they could possibly be. But with each episode that follows, the larger history of this universe starts to get explored, whether it's by the introduction of legacy characters like FBI Agent Laurie Blake or Adrian "Ozymandias" Veidt, or the redefinition of a foundational character from the book like Hooded Justice in the context of his relationship to a new character like Angela "Sister Night" Abar.

Mad Men is ending, and while the show's opening credits are inseparable from RJD2's haunting theme, there was a time when that beat was known only as "A Beautiful Mine," by RJD2 and rapper Aceyalone.
Matthew Weiner originally wanted a Beck song to play as the show's opening theme, but the singer turned down every offer from the show's producers. Weiner was driving and listening to NPR one day when he heard "A Beautiful Mine" played as segue music between two stories and was immediately struck by it, though the version that ultimately was used was so different from...

We Jam Econo: The Story of the Minutemen (2005)
"Our band could be your life," sang the Minutemen in History Lesson Part II – a line that embodied the fierce love the audiences of the Us indie underground held for their bands. The Minutemen were pioneers, coming out of the southern California hardcore punk scene, but to be tied to it, and living what they preached – "We jam econo," was a phrase bassist Mike Watt coined to describe a commitment to doing everything cheaply and independently. More than a history lesson, though, We Jam Econo is a deeply moving love letter from Watt to his friend – and the Minutemen's leader – D Boon, who died in...

With 2011 almost at an end, Glen provides a run-down of his 10 favourite movie songs from the last 12 months…

Bill Withers: Lovely Day
127 Hours
There’s an ironic use of Bill Withers’ classic track in 127 Hours, as it accompanies the point at which our protagonist is at his most desperate – trapped in the middle of nowhere, facing certain death. Whist it may be a lovely day for anyone enjoying the freedom of the national park, it’s far from a lovely day for James Franco’s Aaron Ralston.
Billy Swan: I Can Help

Much of this past year was spent talking about the visual aspect of movies, what with the whole 3-D revolution (or plague, depending on your perspective) and the increased sophistication of CGI effects. But let’s not forget the other half of the audio/visual equation.
There were plenty of musical moments to celebrate at the theater in 2010, and fans of film soundtracks had plenty to hang their hats on.
Here are our picks for the best of the bunch, and whether your tastes run to hip-hop, rock, or just a big, ol’ “Bonnnnng” sound, there’s something here for your ears.
9. ‘Grown Ups’
There wasn’t much to celebrate about the latest Happy Madison production (unless you were one of the film’s stars and got to hang out with your comedian buddies for a couple months on the company dime), but if there’s one thing every Adam Sandler movie knows,...
