There's a new member of the American Girl squad. The company's latest "BeForever" doll, Melody Ellison, was released late last week, and she's bringing with her a new era for young readers to explore. But Melody brings with her a different aspect of history to explore: She's the first black doll whose story is set in the 20th century. Melody lives in Detroit,...

In fact, Prince William's younger bro reportedly found himself "sin banned" during part of the game. Sin banned?! Basically, the 29-year-old was benched for being a little too aggressive and fouling another player, which inspired the crowd to innocently taunt Harry as he left the game. Olympic heptathlete Denise Lewis played against Harry and explained why he was sent away. "It was very competitive, no one wanted to lose. Prince...

Following last night’s deserved victory for Bradley Wiggins, here’s six greats that somehow never got their hands on BBC Sports Personality of the Year…
6. Phil “The Power” Taylor
Only true greats manage to dominate a sport; think Schumacher in his Ferrari, Manchester United in the Premier League, or Australia in the Ashes series of the nineties and early noughties. None of them, however, can come close to Phil “The Power” Taylor’s domination of world darts. With fifteen Pdc World Championships to his name, thirteen World Matchplay Championships, and five Player of the Year awards, it is perhaps a travesty that Taylor is yet to win the ultimate people’s accolade (although winning Fans’ Player of the Year for the last five years running is probably some consolation).

An estimated 100,000 people are living with Aids and HIV in Britain, many of them young people who face prejudice on a daily basis. But a series of celebrity portraits by Rankin and a powerful new film, Life in My Shoes, are challenging that stigma
It is when 18-year-old Blessing gets the bus home from school that the bullying starts. As she waits for the bus to draw out of the stop, a clique of angry-faced girls runs up to the window next to where she is sitting. They begin thumping on the glass with their fists. They scream abuse and call her names, saying that she is "dirty" and "disgusting". They throw chips at her, smearing the window with ketchup, treating her as if she is no better than a piece of rubbish.
