Yet another Yeti movie… will this be as abominable as the rest? I joke of course. This abominable-monster-movie is actually anything but; in fact it’s a pretty decent, if low budget, entry into the killer Yeti sub-genre. A genre which has already given us Abominable in 2006, a film that some say is the peak of this particular horror genre; yet one that has been mined a myriad of times over the years – to varying degrees of success. From the 50s and The Abominable Snowman to more recent films like 2008’s Yeti: Curse of the Snow Demon.
This time round we’re following a research team who are on a journey to obtain a plant...

"We don't know where this creature is, or what it's doing here!" But we do know it hates humans! Uncork'd Ent. has debuted an official trailer for another new "abominable snowman" violent horror film titled simply Abominable. Not to be confused with last year's animated adventure Abominable, or the 2006 horror film also about the same mythical snow monster, also titled Abominable. This low-budget horror utilizes a man-in-suit monster and super gory practical FX to liven things up. A research team looks to find a rare plant, but stumbles upon clues of a previous expedition, learning that a Yeti creature lurks within the Himalayan mountains and will do anything to protect its terrain. This stars Robert Berlin, Katrina Mattson, Amy Gordon, Brandon Grimes, and John Carlssun. It looks really bad, but maybe kinda fun? Take a look. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Jamaal Burden's Abominable film, direct from...

Remember when Bruce Willis used to make interesting, original movies, like Pulp Fiction, Twelve Monkeys and The Fifth Element? An air of excitement would surround each announcement detailing which project the actor would get involved with next. It’s been some time since that excitement has been felt, however, because Willis has essentially been making the same movie, repeatedly, for years. The next product from that assembly line will be Extraction, directed by Steven C. Miller (Silent Night).
The plot focuses on a father and son duo of – wait for it – CIA agents, with Willis as the seasoned elder operative who is traumatized by the – you guessed it – murder of his wife. His less-experienced CIA operative son is working with him on the manufacture of a super-weapon known as the Condor, but is thrust into the driving seat when his father, Willis, is kidnapped by terrorists. Emmett/Furla Films will finance and co-produce three films based on Hasbro properties in the next two years says Deadline.
The first cab off the rank will be the film based on the board game "Monopoly" which they hope to get into production next year. Ridley Scott was previously linked as director, that's almost certainly not the case anymore.
The other two are thought to be "Action Man" and "Hungry Hungry Hippos". Brandon Grimes, Stepan Martisoyan and Remington Chase will co-produce the films while Emmett/Furla will co-finance.
Hasbro’s last overall deal was at Universal Pictures, a deal which only resulted in the big-budget flop "Battleship". Universal shed all its other Hasbro-based films in development after that, some of which have been picked up by others.

After making me almost bleed through the eyes with Battleship, now it looks like I have three more Hasbro products being adapted to film to look forwarded to. Still, it seems that Universal may have learned their lesson after Battleship got torpedoed by critics. According to Variety, Hasbro is teaming with Emmett/Furla Films to get Monopoly, Hungry Hungry Hippos and Action Man onto the bigscreen. The first going into production would be Monopoly, starting sometime in 2013. Stepan Martisoyan and Remington Chase of Envision Entertainment are serving as co-financiers on the projects with budgets at over $100 million. Emmett/Furla are co-producing all the films alongside Hasbro's senior Vice President Brandon Grimes, as well as Bennett Schneir of Hasbro Films.

Also starring are Forest Whitaker, Malin Akerman (Watchmen), Deborah Ann Woll ("True Blood") and Brad Dourif (Fading of the Cries). The first film poster is available for Catch .44 and in the graphic there is a message: "if you are going down, take them with you."
