“Reshoots” is a dirty word in entertainment journalism, often used as an indicator of a disastrous film production. But the truth of the matter is, reshoots can be a good thing. The purpose of reshoots is to make a movie better, not worse. Let’s take a look at the purpose of reshoots, and why they don’t necessarily signal […]

Hodor. Fans have used Wylis's name to cover every emotion on "Game of Thrones." When we're excited -- Hodor! When we're sad -- Hodor. When we're confused -- Hodor? So it's no surprise that "Game of Thrones" Season 6, Episode 5, "The Door," ended with a focus on one man, and a reaction of one word.

We had heard this episode would be an "all-timer" and, for once, the hype wasn't off base. But no one warned us it would be an all-time tearjerker! Curse The Gods For Their Cruelty.

Lionsgate’s recent decision to move Power Rangers to January 2017 wasn’t what you’d call encouraging. The month is known as a dumping ground, with good reason. However, Lionsgate insists the new release date doesn’t signal a lack of confidence, but an opportunity. “Great movies deliver whatever date they’re on,” said co-chairman Rob Friedman. Read the studio’s comments on the Power […]

They were startled to receive a distress signal from a supposedly decimated planet, but it was getting shot down by something on the surface of Dispater that really rattled the eclectic crew in the first issue of Roche Limit: Clandestiny. Taking place 75 years after the events of the five-issue Roche Limit series, this sequel storyline features new characters and fresh situations, but still retains the fantastic storytelling and gorgeous artwork of its predecessor. With Roche Limit: Clandestiny hitting comic shop shelves early next month, we caught up with writer Michael Moreci and artist Kyle Charles to discuss creating scares in space, returning to Dispater, the presence of androids, the possibility of a sixth issue in the Clandestiny story arc, and much more.
Your new comic book series, Roche Limit: Clandestiny, features a mind-bending mystery taking place 75 years after the events of the first Roche Limit story arc that wrapped up in February.

In November, Fox decided to stop production on new series Red Band Society after it wrapped its original 13-episode order, which usually points to cancellation. Bad sign number two: Fox has officially scheduled the show's final three episodes. EW has confirmed that Fox will air Red Band Society's final three episodes beginning on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 9 p.m., followed by back-to-back episodes on Feb. 7 at 8 p.m.

Bad sign? Rosie O'Donnell joked (but not really) that producers of The View often invite a fifth person to guest host the daytime talk show and balance out the polarizing panel. "It's the four of us and occasionally they have a fifth person to see if that would help," O'Donnell said during David Letterman's Late Show on Thursday, Dec. 18. "Sometimes it does! Sometimes it does." The actress-comedienne, 52, rejoined the ABC show in September, joining Whoopi Goldberg and welcoming fellow newcomers, actress Rosie Perez and political commentator [...]...

The news of Cm Punk’s shock WWE departure has taken over wrestling headlines the last few days. Whenever a top guy of WWE suddenly leaves because he’s unhappy it’s going to send shockwaves. Why did he leave? Will he come back? Is he even welcome back.
We may have some answers to those questions with this report from F4WOnline.com:
Cm Punk’s frustration had to do with being booked against Triple H in a match at WrestleMania XXX. Word is that Punk felt that a program with Triple H is not a “big feud and a big match” when he’s stated numerous times that he wanted to main event the biggest show of the year.
Regarding Punk’s future with WWE, it’s said that Vince McMahon wants Punk back but Triple H has mixed feelings on the situation. Triple H reportedly feels disrespected...

Argo For the next few days you're going to be seeing several articles talking about why Argo doesn't "deserve" to win the Oscar for Best Picture. Of course, the people making these arguments don't realize they are more-or-less shouting in the wind. From my perspective, Argo is a perfectly fine film. I enjoyed it, though I did have some issues with the pacing and the over-the-top dramatic ending that I didn't necessarily think fit with the pace of the rest of the film. Does it "deserve" to win Best Picture? Sure, then again, I don't really know what that means. What does a film have to do to "deserve" to win Best Picture and who decides if it's so deserving? What if you liked it and I didn't? Which one of us is "right"? This, my friends, is why I have fun predicting the Oscars, my level of "deserving" only...

Remember the classic James Bond theme that Monty Norman composed and John Barry re-arranged for "Dr. No," and which was subsequently used in the 22 other official Bond films, including "Skyfall"? It started as the song "Bad Sign Good Sign," part of a failed musical called "A House For Mr. Biswas."
Norman and Julian More wrote a musical adaptation of V.S. Naipual's best-selling novel, but the expense of the show made it a non-starter. Soon after, Norman used the melody of "Bad Sign Good Sign" for Bond. Wrote Norman when the track was released in 2005:
As time moved on, many people suggested I record the progenitor of the signature theme first heard in Dr No. So, with musical cuts of the middle production area, and with the help of Mehboob Nadim's evocative sitar and Pandit Dimesh's terrific tabla rhythms the embryonic melodies of the James Bond Theme, for the...

Bad sign, always? Good sign, sometimes? By belatedly getting pulled from the summer schedule and pushed back to next year, G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation has joined some infamous company. It's also joined some illustrious company. A case-study look at five movies that got yanked: 1. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince • When the Moving Van Showed Up: About three months prior to its planned November 2008 release. Warner Bros. said it saw the summer of 2009 as a better opportunity; conventional wisdom said the studio, after the staggering success of The Dark Knight, just didn't need another 2008 hit on its books. • The Bottom Line: A Harry Potter movie could...

James Cameron has just made contact with the real-life abyss. The King of the World can now crown himself the King of the Deep as he matched the 35,756 foot world record earlier today at 5:52 Pm Et for the deepest dive ever with a solo excursion into the Western Pacific's famed Marianas Trench. The filmmaker even took to Twitter to share the excitement, writing, "Just arrived at the ocean's deepest pt. Hitting bottom never felt so good. Can't wait to share what I'm seeing w/ you @DeepChallenge." And just as you'd expect, he's filming the historic dive—in 3D no less! More: Avatar 2 Is Delayed for a Long Time—Is That a Bad Sign? As James Bond prepares for his 23rd official outing in Skyfall and to mark next year’s 50th Anniversary of one of the most successful movie franchises of all time I have been tasked to take a retrospective look at the films that turned author Ian Fleming’s creation into one of the most recognised and iconic fictional characters in film history.
Back in 1961 nobody could have foreseen the success and longevity that James Bond would go on to enjoy in the years that followed. At the time, film producer Albert R. Broccoli, who was reeling from being declared bankrupt after the box-office failure of his most recent picture The Trails of Oscar Wilde, was on the lookout for an idea for his next project. When asked by his wife Dana what he really wanted to do, he replied “I have always wanted to film the Ian Fleming James Bond...

I've just received 19 new pictures and two new clips from The Rum Diary, based on Hunter S. Thompson's first novel and starring Johnny Depp as Paul Kemp, a roaming journalist who travels to Puerto Rico to work for the San Juan Star, and soon becomes obsessed with Chenault (Amber Heard), a wildly attractive fiancee of shady local businessman Hal Sanderson (Aaron Eckhart). I didn't watch any of the clips just as I haven't watched any of the trailers or TV spots I've uploaded as I am seeing the film in just a couple of weeks, but I am a bit concerned considering the press screenings here in Seattle were originally set for one week in advance (always nice for reviewing press to see a film earlier than opening week) and have now been moved to just a couple of days before it hits theaters on October 28. Bad sign? Nevertheless,...

The ambitious First Daughter might be taking after her parents — would she be a natural born leader?
Chelsea Clinton took a big step into the public sphere this week by launching a new Facebook page — and we think it may be her first tiptoe into the political realm!
Chelsea, 31, wrote an emotional personal message to the 7,800 followers she received in less than 24 hours, the New York Post reports.
“My parents and my grandmother inspire me every day and, every day, in my work and personal life,” she wrote. “My grandmother’s twin mantras … ‘Life is not a dress rehearsal’ and ‘Life is not about what happens to you, but what you do with what happens to you.’”
What do you think, HollywoodLifers — will Chelsea run for a political office?

Chuck would never intentionally do harm to Blair.
Ever since this cryptic tease made its way online last week, Gossip Girl fans have frantically been trying to figure out what might happen to their beloved Queen B.
"Never intentionally" still leaves plenty of room for hurt, after all, and we know Chuck's not in his right mind lately. Anytime you're chasing coke with scotch? Bad sign.
To that end, TV Line's Michael Ausiello adds only this in his spoiler column today: "There’s really only one more thing to say on this subject: There will be blood."

Most of you think she should have accepted the deal, but Lindsay is determined to have her day in court. The actress, who spent over three months in rehab last year, is also subject to routine drug and alcohol testing. Hey y'all! Blame my cat for the extra couple of hours it took to get this recap up: she's old and so we let her outside in an enclosed area so she won't get run over or get beat up by other cats in the area, only now it's spring time so her boyfriend cat from the other side of the fence got frisky and jumped up and got stuck on the roof! So I had to climb around trying to get him down.

London — Five-time Oscar-winning composer John Barry, who wrote music for a dozen James Bond films, including "You Only Live Twice" and "Goldfinger" but couldn't persuade a jury that he composed the suave spy's theme music, has died. He was 77.
Barry died in New York, where he had lived for some time, on Sunday, his family said. The family did not release the cause of death.
Though his work on the Bond films is among his most famous, the English-born composer wrote a long list of scores, including for "Midnight Cowboy," "Dances with Wolves" and "Body Heat." He was proud of writing both for big action blockbusters and smaller films.
He won two Oscars for "Born Free" in 1966, for best score and best song. He also earned statuettes for the scores to "The Lion in Winter" (1968), "Out of Africa" (1985) and "Dances with Wolves" (1990).
