As YouTube networks solidify and creators begin making actual paychecks, it’s easy to forget about the passion filled collaborative days of YouTube’s yesteryear that helped to build some of the site’s biggest fan bases. YouTubers working with YouTubers was a powerful tool that not only grew audiences, but gave content creators an opportunity to have fun working with fellow talent. Yes, collabs certainly still happen, but it feels like they’re happening less so between individuals represented by different YouTube networks. Thankfully, though, we have a show like The Stooges to further remind us people are still working together and it doesn’t always have to be all about the Benjamin’s (not that there’s anything wrong if it is). Shot on a modest budget bumping $10K, the series features YouTube stars Eric Pumphrey of Reckless Tortuga and Rawn Erickson (HiimRawn) of Maker Studios, as well as Luke Edwards,...

The ex-boyfriend of Little Mix member Perrie Edwards has claimed that the singer dumped him for One Direction star Zayn Malik. Adam Wright dated Edwards for 18 months and said that he was "very much in love" with her before she entered the ITV show. However, she allegedly broke up with him by text after she fell for Malik. "My mates used to wind me up that she would dump me for a popstar," Wright told The Sun. "I would say no she won't, Perrie's not like that - but that's exactly what she did. X Factor changed her. "I didn't believe it, but when I read it was true I was jealous as I still had feelings for her." Wright also claimed that he felt "pushed aside" as Edwards competed on The X Factor, adding: "It wasn't on purpose, she was just (more)...

The marketing and promotion of a show is among one of the most important keys in a show’s success. If a series is profitable for its network, its chances of sticking around go up drastically.
In today’s TV world, there are two programs on the air that are, in my opinion, the masters of marketing and promoting themselves. Not only do they push their shows with ad campaigns, but they rake out merchandise. A Lot of merchandise!
Of course I’m talking about the Fox series "Glee" and the HBO series "True Blood."

Casting is currently under way for the newest "Law & Order" spinoff from NBC.
"Law & Order: Los Angeles" ("Lola" for short) will debut this fall on Wednesday at 10 p.m., following "Law & Order: Svu."
No casting has been announced, so I’ve decided to make some suggestions of actors I think would be perfect for "Lola."
What the "Lola" people need Not to do is try to find a new Det. Lenny Briscoe, played by the legendary Jerry Orbach.
Senior Detective: Liev Schreiber

First things first.credit where credit.s due. I gave up on Glee shortly before it went on hiatus, and I wouldn.t know anything about last night.s episode if TVDoneWright.s Adam Wright hadn.t written his thought-provoking post, Artie of Glee, Why the Pitiful Victim?. As a person with a physical disability, Wright approaches the episode from a unique perspective. And while he says he wasn.t offended, he points to Artie.s sudden obsession with finding a .cure. for his paralysis, and the scenes in which we.re supposed to feel sorry for Artie... More >>...

I rarely talk about my personal life in my online posts. I rarely recap an episode, and I rarely write a commentary about a show.
However, today I will do all three.
The Fox mega-hit "Glee" has made its mark this year. It’s one of television's biggest hits of the year. It’s the tale of a group of high school underdogs and their glee club.
One of those underdogs is Artie (played by Kevin McHale, below right). Artie is in a wheelchair because of a spinal-cord injury.

We didn't intend for it to work out this way, but this week was all about the ladies in web TV. Or maybe its just CBS that has a thing for them. Either way, this week saw news that Shira Lazar had signed on with CBSNews.com to be a regular correspondent on Mo Rocca's Tomorrow Show along with her own video rich blog on site. Then came the release of two new CBS Interactive web series, TV in a Flash with former Wallstrip host Julie Alexandria and Sports in a Flash with Lauren Shahedi, The two series will live on CBS-owned sites TV.com and CBSSports.com. And rounding out the ladies theme, with Breast Cancer Awareness month upon us, web star Taryn Southern rallied some celeb friends together to make a series of click-worthy Save a Tit videos which debuted this week. Our own Adam Wright wrapped...

Last full week of September and first few days of fall are upon us. October is about to see a flurry of new web series launches though this past week didn't exactly go light on the news front. First off, you know we are suckers for good food, dare we even say foodies, so it warmed our hearts a little to learn that there's now a web series network dedicated to pleasing our refined palates. Next New Networks launched its Hungry Nation network this week which VendrTV and Working Class Foodies kicking it off. What better than La's Twitter-pimping food truck @kogibbq to be the first featured episode? The most discussed story of the week was clearly the news that Joss Whedon is building a digital studio that would produce four web series a year, one of which is going to be a sequel to multi-Streamy-winning Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.

Tubefilter research analyst Adam Wright is in New York this week reporting on both Advertising Week and the New York Television Festival (Nytvf). For live updates follow @tubefilter on Twitter. This is his recap of yesterdays' Industry Day at Nytvf. Industry Day is a Natpe (National Association of Television Programming Executives) sponsored Nytvf event that features executives in television discussing the current state of the industry. As a running theme for this festival, in general when people from traditional media discussed anything about new media and web television it was with one part caution and two parts dismissal. Panel Recap: "A Level Headed Look at the Future of Television" The first panel was by far the dreariest, "A level headed look at the future of television." It included Bonnie Hammer, the accomplished President of NBC Universal Cable Entertainment, and Rick Rosen, Head of Television, William Morris Endeavor Entertainment. The panel...

When David Glasser jumped from Yari Film Group this week to head international distribution at the Weinstein Co., it was just the latest move in a round of musical chairs sweeping the international sales arena, reflecting weakened overseas action and discontent in the industry ranks.
Among the many execs moving about:
-- Former Weinstein Co. international president Glen Basner, replaced by Glasser, is finalizing plans to launch an independent sales company before this fall's American Film Market.
-- Lisa Wilson, formerly of Ashok Amritraj's Hyde Park, is joining Graham King's Gk Films as president of international distribution. She steps into the role that former sales and distribution president Eric Christenson vacated this spring.
-- Christenson, who did consulting work for Peace Arch at Cannes, is in negotiations to join Morgan Creek, where Cfo Howard Kaplan and senior VP international sales Liz Mackiewicz have recently departed.
