Matthew Perry’s former fiancé, Molly Hurwitz, expressed her “tremendous gratitude” for their loving but complicated relationship in a tribute shared on Instagram.
Hurwitz and Perry started dating in 2018 and got engaged in 2020 but decided to call it off in 2021. In her note, Hurwitz said she “loved [Perry] deeper than I could comprehend” but acknowledged the actor — who long struggled with addiction — was “complicated, and he caused pain like I’d never known.”
She continued: “No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry.

Fans the world over are still reeling after the unexpected and tragic death of "Friends" star Matthew Perry. The 54-year-old actor had been on screens big and small for over 40 years, a prolific performer who grew up in the public eye. However, it was his performance as Chandler Bing throughout all 10 seasons of the pop culture-changing NBC sitcom "Friends" that made him a household name and television icon. /Film's own Jacob Hall called him the "snarky, sincere heart" of the series, pointing out that Perry had done the impossible. As he said:
"Perry had accomplished what the greatest of TV actors can do. He made me feel like I knew him. Across 236 episodes of television, Chandler Bing stopped being a character and started being a dude who lived in my house. I knew that guy. I loved him."
Hall is right. The characters on "Friends" started to feel like the...

Paul Lyndsay (Scott Williams) just wants to give his children what he never had, and in the case of only son Charlie (Harry Gilby) that’s a career in football to spare him a future wasted toiling in factories. So when a talent scout approaches Charlie after a game with a lucrative contract his father can’t understand why the boy isn’t more excited about it. Charlie’s dissatisfaction, however, is rooted in gender dysphoria: she identifies as female, and after years of denial is finding it difficult to hide her true feelings any longer. Macho, violent thriller hiding an original concept, where a graduate takes over a kebab house targeted by drunks – and starts a vigilante fightback
A strict script editor might have helped. Somewhere inside this baggy, macho, sloppily violent, visually uninteresting British film is a sharp black comedy struggling to get out. Salah (Ziad Abaza) is a smart young Turkish-British guy about to graduate with a politics degree, heading for a brilliant career. With nothing left to do but fine tune his final dissertation, Salah comes to help his ailing father Zaki (Nayef Rashed) who runs a late-night kebab place in a south coast seaside town – and he’s horrified at the way aggressive drunks terrorise his dad, and at the way public drunkenness has been created by a huge club, run by a cynical and sinister promoter called Jason Brown (Scot Williams). A grisly event leaves Salah in charge of the kebab shop,...

As part of our coverage of the DVD release of Hard Boiled Sweets (see our review here), we were able to interview actor Scot Williams, who plays the key role of Johnny in David Hughes’ feature-length directorial debut. We started off asking him how he came to the project…
Scot Williams: I got a call out of the blue and was offered a role, which is very rare. Usually I have to audition, but on this occasion my agent sent me a disc for the short film A Girl & A Gun, which had Paul Freeman and Ian Hart in it. I was drawn to it and because I’d worked with Ian in Backbeat I called him up and asked him if he would recommend I work on it and he said “absolutely”. The script was fabulous and the other actor attached were excellent – I wouldn’t have agreed...

Hard Boiled Sweets
Stars: Philip Barantini, Elizabeth Berrington, Adrian Bower, Paul Freeman, Liz May Brice, Laura Greenwood | Written and Directed by David L.G. Hughes
Guy Ritchie has a lot to answer for. Following the success of his British gangster flick Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels we’ve had a myriad of rip-offs and wannabes of which Hard Boiled Sweets is one. Taking inspiration from Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction and Guy Ritchie’s aforementioned gangster flick, the film weaves together a number of different stories and characters into this tale of seaside gangsters – the trouble is right from the get-go you know exactly where the film is headed and how all the plot threads will come together; watching everything pan out as you’ve already guessed makes for very dull viewing!
The film follows mob boss ‘Shrewd’ Eddie (Freeman), a Southend-on-Sea gangster who is used to getting whatever he wants; he runs the town,...

After two games, both sides were at risk of losing their unbeaten streak, as an inexperienced England took on a mountainous Wales at Twickenham. Let us know what you thought of the game either in the comments below or on Twitter @Ballintouch and remember to use our handy beginners A-z guide to rugby, here.
With Wales in the unique position of favourites for this match at Twickenham, all the talk was about the callowness of the starting England side and the size of the Welsh backline.
It was the gigantic George North who almost drew first blood, two scything runs cutting the England defence to pieces and taking the Welsh into the English 22. Unlike the Irish in the earlier game of the day, Wales were in no mood to start slowly.

Mem Ferda as DusanThe Crew is an action thriller, which was released in North America late in 2009, based on the novel "Outlaws" by author Kevin Sampson. The film reveals the seedy Liverpool underworld and the criminals who inhabit it. The Crew stars Stephen Graham ("London Boulevard"), Scot Williams (Dead Man Running), Mem Ferda (Legacy) and Rory McCann. Now that the film has been released and distributed, actor and villain Ferda is able to talk about his role as Dusan in this production. From Film File a German online magazine, Ferda states that becoming the antagonist in a thriller is actually very easy: "playing villains is fun. It can be a form of therapy for the innate evil that is within us all."
Empire magazine has described the film as "an intense thriller," and from Ferda he describes his character as "a guy with serious issues" (Film File). Criticized for its...
