Jk Rowling’s Harry Potter franchise is one of the highest-grossing film franchises in the world. Based on seven novels in the series, the films starred Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint as the leading trio and saw fans grow up along with the children in the films. The films and novels were an international phenomenon at the time of release.
While the main storyline ended with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, the studio reportedly wanted to begin a spinoff franchise to expand the franchise. The producers reportedly initially had an idea that involved Newt Scamander finding new beasts, which Jk Rowling shot down in favor of her iteration of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

“Fantastic Beasts 3” will be streaming on HBO Max next week, the streamer announced on Monday.
As expected, “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” will be available to all HBO Max subscribers 45 days after it first hit theaters, landing on the streaming service on May 30.
The third installment in the “Fantastic Beasts” franchise delves deeper into the backstory of Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) all the while the evil Gellert Grindelwald (now played by Mads Mikkelsen in a recasting following Johnny Depp’s exit) amasses his forces.
Unable to stop Grindelwald alone, Dumbledore entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?

It had been many years since the conclusion to the "Harry Potter" film franchise had been released when Warner Bros. began looking for a way to bring viewers back to its magical world. After "Harry Potter" producers David Heyman and Lionel Wigram met with J.K. Rowling to pitch their idea for a faux-documentary style film featuring Newt Scamander, the author responded in kind, sharing a script she had already been working on. The "Fantastic Beasts" franchise was born, and the rest is history.

Warner Bros’ Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is releasing ahead of domestic in 22 international box office markets this weekend, beginning in Holland and Belgium on Wednesday and including the UK, Australia, Germany, Japan, Spain and China through Friday. The latter, unfortunately, is not expected to serve up any magic given significant cinema closures.
Currently, estimates for the early offshore release are in the mid-50 million range. That’s down compared to the previous two films in the Wizarding World spinoff series. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald in like-for-like markets and at today’s rates opened to 120M and 115M, respectively. Those films had gone out in a November corridor and played into Christmas, finaling at 580M and 495M internationally.
Again, China is a big drag this time around; the market contributed about a third of the opening grosses on the earlier movies.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, two scripted series inspired by Conan Doyle’s books are reportedly in the works. Adding to the intrigue is the involvement of Team Downey, Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey’s production company. The actor famously portrayed the detective in Guy Ritchie’s 2009 film and 2011 sequel. (Credit: ©Warner Bros./courtesy Everett Collection) Currently, Robert Downey Jr. is attached as an executive producer, but he isn’t the only team member to have roots attached to the movies. Lionel Wigram, who has story credit on the first film and produced both, is also set to executive produce. Also set to executive produce are Susan Downey and Amanda Burrell. It’s unclear if Downey Jr.

It looks like Warner Bros are lining up Mads Mikkelsen to take over the role of dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald from Johnny Depp in the third instalment of ‘Fantastic Beasts’.
The ‘Hannibal’ and ‘Doctor Strange’ star has entered into early negotiations to take on the role after Warner Bros forced Depp to leave the franchise over the dubious allegations of abuse towards his ex-wife Amber Heard after Depp lost a libel case in the UK courts.
It is reported that Mikkelsen’s addition comes just in the knick of time, with Depp only reportedly having shot one scene, meaning Mikkelsen won’t have too much ground to cover.
It is also reported, that even though Depp only shot that one scene, Warner Bros have paid him his full salary for the film.

“Hannibal” and “Doctor Strange” actor Mads Mikkelsen is in early talks to take on the role of the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald in “Fantastic Beasts 3,” replacing Johnny Depp in the role, Variety has confirmed.
After playing Grindelwald in the first two “Fantastic Beasts” movies, Depp announced on Friday that Warner Bros. had asked him to “resign” from the role after Depp lost his UK libel trial relating to abuse allegations by ex-wife Amber Heard.
“Fantastic Beasts 3” is currently in production in the UK. According to a source familiar with the project, Depp had shot just one scene as Grindelwald before leaving the film, so Mikkelsen would not need to replicate much footage.
The role of Grindelwald is very much in Mikkelsen’s wheelhouse for playing elaborately intelligent villains. As conceived by author J.K. Rowling, Grindelwald is a brilliant and ruthless dark wizard who in his youth maintained a complicated romantic...

‘Rocketman’ helmer, Dexter Fletcher has taken over the director’s chair from Guy Ritchie for the third instalment of ‘Sherlock Holmes’.
Robert Downey Jr has also been confirmed to reprise the titular character. Whilst it hasn’t been confirmed whether Jude Law will be returning as Doctor Watson, it is expected.
Sources say Warner Bros. had always planned on making a third film. However, Downey’s busy schedule as Iron Man prevented any new filming for the series.

Fletcher takes over the reins from Ritchie who had been in the driving seat for the 2009 outing and its follow-up ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ in 2011. Both were a massive hit, with the first grossing $524 million globally and the second bringing in $545.4 million worldwide.
Chris Brancato is penning the script, while Susan Downey, Joel Silver, Dan Lin and Lionel Wigram are producing.

Dexter Fletcher, who most recently directed “Rocketman,” is attached to direct “Sherlock Holmes 3” at Warner Bros., with Robert Downey Jr. returning to star, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
Fletcher takes over for Guy Ritchie, who directed the previous two “Sherlock Holmes” films that starred Downey Jr. and Jude Law, who is also expected to return. Ritchie made the classic detective story a steampunk, action-heavy, quick-witted joy ride, and the films from 2009 and 2011 made well over a $1 billion at the global box office combined.
The third “Sherlock Holmes” film is expected to hit theaters on Dec. 21, 2021 after initially announced to open on Christmas 2020. The gap between films will be 10 years, which was in part due to the scheduling troubles with Downey Jr.’s “Iron Man” and “Avengers” films.

Looks like the mystery of the delayed sequel will take a bit longer to solve, as Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow announced Monday that the release of “Sherlock Holmes 3” has been pushed back a full year. The still-untitled follow up to 2011’s “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” will now hit theaters December 22. 2021, instead of December 25, 2020.
The first two films — 2009’s “Sherlock Holmes” and 2011’s “A Game of Shadows” — were directed by Guy Ritchie and starred Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law as Holmes and Watson, respectively. It is not known if Downey and Law will return for the third outing.

Fantastic Beasts 3 is set to shoot in the spring of 2020, with all of the main cast members returning.
Fantastic Beasts 3 – the untitled third chapter in the latest film iteration of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter film franchise – is still on the way, even if 2019 proved to be an unproductive year for the film, which was delayed by Warner Bros. back in January. However, there's no need to panic, since the production push-back will see the cameras start rolling in 2020.
Indeed, the threequel, which was initially scheduled to get underway in July 2019, will kick off after experiencing a substantial scheduling setback. It seems that the crew weren't ready to get started on the film after only just finishing up on the last one, Fantastic Beasts, The Crimes of Grindelwald, which was just released back in November 2018 to mixed reviews, but nevertheless yielded solid box office returns.

Warner Bros. is pushing back the production start date of its third “Fantastic Beasts” movie several months from July to the late fall, a spokesperson said Friday.
Actors have been notified about the change in dates. The untitled third “Fantastic Beasts” movie has not yet set a release date. “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” was released on Nov. 18, 2016, and “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Gindelwald” came out on Nov. 16, 2018. It’s been assumed that the studio would release the next movie in November, 2020, but the delay in starting production may preclude that from happening.
David Yates is set to direct the third movie with David Heyman, Steve Kloves, Lionel Wigram, and J.K. Rowling producing. The two “Fantastic Beasts” have starred Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, who deals with secret wizard communities during the 1920s. Exclusive: It has come to our understanding that Warner Bros. is pushing back the production start of the third Fantastic Beasts film.
Originally, the J.K. Rowling-scripted movie was going to go before the cameras in July of this year, and now it’s looking like late autumn.
It boils down to more prep time for part three. The Fantastic Beasts production team literally delivered the last movie, The Crimes of Grindelwald, which made close to $650M at the Ww box office, and more pre-production time is needed for the threequel. Literally, Fantastic Beasts 3 would need to be in soft-prep by now to roll cameras in the summer. Actors are being alerted about the push in production in order to change their working schedules. Previous Warner Bros. administrations had the tendency to rush event films to meet release dates, and in this case Fantastic Beasts 3 was rumored to be 2020. Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. Pictures’ “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” is the second of five all new adventures in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World.
At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MacUsa (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.
In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.

You’re going to want to watch to the end of this trailer, Jk Rowling warned.
The final trailer for Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald features Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne, finally meeting his brother. “There’s a lot in there for you guys. When you see the trailer, don’t speak to each other until the end because there’s a name you’ll want to hear,” the author said recently.
Johnny Depp’s powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald also returns, despite being captured by MacUsa (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Scamander at the end of the first film. This time he warns his followers to “join me or die”.
Elsewhere, Jude Law, who plays Albus Dumbledore, Zoë Kravitz, who plays Leta Lestrange, Ezra Miller (Credence) and new cast member Claudia Kim (the Maledictus) star.

Warner Bros. released new footage Tuesday for “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” with a teenage Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) receiving Defense Against the Dark Arts instruction at Hogwarts.
The footage generated a big laugh among attendees at the CinemaCon convention of theater owners in Las Vegas, with Jude Law portraying a young Albus Dumbledore as the bumbling Scamander faces a Boggart and a desk appears. Dumbledore explains that it’s manifested as Scamander’s fear: having to work an office job.
“This film, I get to go to Hogwarts, which is the best thing!” Redmayne proclaimed at the convention.
The David Yates film follows Dumbledore and Scamander as they join forces to recapture an escaped Gellert Grindelwald, played by Johnny Depp, who is on a mission to dominate all non-magical people with the help of his pureblood wizard followers. Depp did not appear at the CinemaCon event.

Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family,...

Stars: Charlie Hunnam, Jude Law, Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou | Written by Guy Ritchie, Joby Harold, Lionel Wigram | Directed by Guy Ritchie
The first movie I saw directed by Guy Ritchie was Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. When I started watching King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, little did I know that I’d find myself comparing the gangster feel of the two. In many ways this represents how confusing a movie it can be, especially when it is about a character like King Arthur…
Robbed of his birth right as King, Arthur (Charlie Hunnam) grows up the hard way, fighting for what he can and protecting those around him. Forced to pull a sword out of a stone, he soon begins the journey to becoming the true king with the help of a Mage (Astrid Berges-Frisbey). With his legend growing, this pushes him towards his destiny, a confrontation with...

There just may have been a real King Arthur in the sixth century of what is today England. Or, he may have been a legend the fractured country needed to help give it a cultural identity. Either way, that legendary figure of story and song would be horrified to see what Guy Ritchie has done in his name.
King Arthur: Legend of the Sword was a troubled production, heavily promoted, and lengthily delayed until it opened to withering reviews and poor box office. Now available on home video from Warner Home Entertainment, it is a troubling view of Arthur.
Real or not, he was reinterpreted for the needs of the country (and later portions of Europe) across the centuries with characters coming and going, victories of varying degrees, and epic romances until there was just Arthur and Guinevere. As we have come to know the legend, he was a moral character,...
