After a summer of breaking streaming records, Suits may be opening some new offices.
Series creator Aaron Korsh is in the early stages of developing a show set in the world of his USA Network legal drama for NBCUniversal — but it’s not a reboot or sequel. Instead, the potential series would feature new characters and a new setting, similar to other multi-show franchises (whether there would be any crossover potential with the original is a question for much further down the road). Los Angeles is the most likely setting for the project, sources say.
Universal Studio Group’s UCP produced Suits for USA, and discussions are underway with the studio about the new project. A potential series from Korsh would most likely run on an NBCU-owned platform.

Exclusive: For the past four months, Suits has been the hottest series on television, breaking a slew of streaming viewership records. Now the franchise, which ended in September 2019 with the Suits series finale, is plotting a comeback.
Series creator Aaron Korsh is in development of a Suits offshoot for NBCUniversal, sources tell Deadline. Deals are still being negotiated, but I hear the project is expected to be fast-tracked with a serious commitment.
This is not a revival or reboot and, unlike the 2019 Pearson, the new legal procedural is not a spinoff either — it would be a Suits universe series in the vein of the CSI and NCIS franchises featuring new characters in a new location, sources said. I hear Los Angeles is a backdrop considered for the workplace drama.
Like is the case for most NBCUniversal development, a network or platform for the potential new series has not been determined yet.

In the cinematic realm where storytelling prowess is essential, Ruined, directed by Tamara Bass and penned by Michelle Valentine, stumbles as it attempts to traverse the convoluted terrain of love, revenge, and suspense. Despite its promising premise, the film falls flat, leaving viewers with an unsatisfying aftertaste due to lackluster performances, uninspiring chemistry, and a failure to adequately delve into the characters’ motivations. The film takes audiences on a tumultuous journey through the lives of Landon and Olivia Richards, a couple whose marriage and individual dreams are entangled in a web of worldly aspirations, secrets, heartache, and the chilling intentions of a vengeful specter.
The crux of the film revolves around Liv and Landon Richards, portrayed by Annie Ilonzeh and Chris Warren, respectively. Landon embodies the quintessence of success as an accomplished Ob-gyn, steering his own medical practice that especially caters to black women. Despite this, however, he desperately wants...

As Suits continues to enjoy a wave of popularity years after it ended its nine-season run, series creator Aaron Korsh is speaking out about the possibility of bringing the legal drama back to TV.
As previously reported, the USA Network drama has been delivering astronomical viewing figures on both Netflix and Peacock four years after its series finale.
Because of that, fans have been questioning the possibility of the show, which starred Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman, Sarah Rafferty, Gina Torres, and Meghan Markle, returning for more episodes.
On Sunday, Korsh took to X, formerly known as Twitter, with some insider scoop that a follow-up series is not currently being discussed.
"Let me say right off that there is no #Suits reboot or anything in the works," he tweeted.
"Strike would have to end, some network or streamer would have to reach out, and then we would have to collectively want to.

Julio Torres dared Hollywood studios Friday to “massively reinvent the way that they do business” and to do “the unthinkable: paying their CEOs just slightly less than obscene amounts of money.”
“Enough is enough with the greed,” he said while picketing in New York City, flanked by several recognizable stars, among them Susan Sarandon, Rosie Perez, Ariana DeBose and Wilson Cruz.
Torres — a former writer for “Saturday Night Live,” writer and star of HBO’s “Los Espookys” and writer, director and star of A24’s upcoming “Problemista” — spoke for five minutes to a cheering crowd about joining the masses across industries in the coined “Hot Strike Summer,” his experience moving to the United States from El Salvador during the Occupy Wall Street movement and the parallels he sees therein.
He also emphasized his hope that Hollywood studios will begin doing more than just lip service to the so-called American Dream...

The actors may remain on the picket line but D.B. Woodside has a message for studios once everyone returns to work: he’s ready for marquee status.
The veteran actor — who’s no doubt attracting a whole new set of fans now that Suits is killing it on Netflix — wrote on X Tuesday that he’s ready to “lead my own show.”
Woodside, who played attorney Jeff Malone (and Gina Torres’ sexy love interest) on Suits, admitted that it’s the “boldest tweet I’ll ever send.”

It's hard to believe that a show that ended almost four years ago is delivering this much buzz.
But it shows that some of the most binge-able shows can get a renaissance years after they've ended.
Suits amassed another 3.7 billion minutes viewed across Netflix and Peacock.
A split for the streaming platforms has not been revealed, but the first eight seasons of Suits became available on June 17 on Netflix.
Make of that what you will. Peacock hasn't revealed if having exclusivity over Suits Season 9 has paved the way for a rise in sign-ups.
Suits is killing it for an acquired title, coming in well ahead of streaming original The Lincoln Lawyer (1.28 billion minutes viewed).
The news certainly bodes well for a revival, movie, or reboot, but it's hard to determine whether any of the cast would be interested.
Meghan Markle, who was missing from the last two seasons, probably wouldn't...

RZA spoke about his Problemista director and castmate Julio Torres in his exclusive uInterview.
RZA spoke about the meaning of the odd film title.
“Well, by the end of the day, we all got a lot of problems,” RZA told uInterview at SXSW in Austin, Texas. “You better try to solve them, you know what I mean. And don’t be that mouse going through that maze and not figuring your way out. Take that.”
He believes that Torres has his problems figured out.
“Julio got it packed down y’all, he got it down,” he said flatly.
RZA stars as the husband of Elizabeth, played by Tilda Swinton, who is an artist who has passed away.

What’s next for Torres after NCIS’s season-ending cliffhanger? Fans are going to have to wait a while to find out. The long-running series likely won’t return with new episodes on CBS in 2023 due the ongoing SAG-Afrta and WGA strikes.
When will new episodes of ‘NCIS’ air on CBS?
In the NCIS Season 20 finale, Torres (Wilmer Valderamma) had gone deep undercover in an effort to stop a Russian terrorist plot. Thankfully, Torres and the team managed to avert disaster. But at the end of the episode, a figure from his past returned. We don’t know who the man (played by Al Sapienza) is, but his reemergence prompted Torres to call his sister and warn her.
“The bastard’s still alive, and he’s still doing it,” he says. He then breaks into the man’s house and waits for him – with a gun. When he returns home,...

In May, NCIS ended its Season 20 finale, “Black Sky,” with quite the cliffhanger: Special Agent Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) pulling his gun not in an official capacity and seemingly threatening to kill a man. The episode saw him undercover in prison as part of an attempt to get more information about an impending terror attack, but the most intriguing part came when he recognized someone from his past: a man visiting an inmate. That man was the inmate’s mother’s boyfriend, supposedly helping him with his legal problems… but also responsible for making his and his mom’s lives hell since he showed up. It also seemed like Torres believed he framed the inmate. But why? It was once Torres returned to NCIS and left his sister a voicemail that the pieces began to come together. “I found him,” he said. ‘You know who I’m talking about. The...

Actor-director Julio Torres didn’t appear in-person at the Outfest screening of his upcoming comedy Problemista, but he did send a message to the audience.
“Hello, fellow queers,” Torres began in a video that played before the start of Problemista on Saturday night. Before it rolled, the Lgbtqia+ film festival in Los Angeles explained that Torres recorded the message shortly before SAG-AFTRA went on strike on July 14, with instructions to play it if the walkout prevented him from attending the event.
“If you’re seeing this, it only means one thing and that is that my union went on strike. So, I am not there [at Outfest] in solidarity,” he said. “When picking a side between fellow artists and the interest of corporations and their millionaire, billionaire CEOs, the choice was, how do you say, uh, easy.”

Following the news that Luca Guadagnino’s Zendaya-led “Challengers” is being pushed to 2024, A24 has decided to pull Julio Torres’ feature directorial debut “Problemista” from its August release date. The films are a sign of likely more delays to come as studios aren’t eager to release new films during the double strike, with actors unavailable to promote them.
Torres wrote, directed and stars in “Problemista” as Alejandro, an aspiring toy designer from El Salvador who moves to New York City to fulfill his dream. But as the time on his work visa runs out, he takes a job as an assistant to an erratic art world outcast (played by Tilda Swinton).

At first, Tommy begins thinking about finding another church, but in the end, she instead steps up in mass to give the reading because she feels the Holy Spirit calling — and uses it to put the gossipers in their place before calling them out. Magnolia Pictures International has acquired worldwide sales rights — including U.S. sales rights — to heist comedy-drama “The Delinquents” from Argentinian writer-director Rodrigo Moreno (“The Custodian”). The film will world premiere as part of the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival.
In “The Delinquents,” the routine lives of two bank employees, Morán and Román, break down when Morán steals a small fortune from the bank’s vault. On the run, he glimpses a possible alternative to the gray life he’s been living and, in addition, falls in love. But he is forced to choose between this radical alternative and following through on his heist plans, so he resigns himself to a short prison stint. His colleague Román, unwillingly in possession of the stolen money, feels trapped by the secret he’s keeping; his paranoia increases until he too finds a way out, and also discovers a new love.

Wilmer Valderrama has unveiled his new look for the season 20 finale of NCIS. In a recent post on social media, the NCIS star confirmed that his character, Nick Torres, will be headed to prison.
The clip shows Valderrama sporting a shaved head and an orange jumpsuit. This confirms that Torres will be spending time behind bars in the finale, though to what end is up for debate.

Nick Torres, what happened to you?! Wilmer Valderrama has a new look for the NCIS Season 20 finale, which is currently filming and will air on May 22, and TV Insider has an exclusive first look. As you can see in the full photos below, Valderrama has shaved his head for the Torres-centric episode, and the agent is in prison. We assume he’s undercover, but we can’t know for sure. Who knows what will happen between now and then? We can’t share much else, except that the title is “Black Sky” and that it will end on an edge-of-your-seat cliffhanger that will have ramifications into next season. Something tells us we’re going to be very happy at 10/9c on May 22 that we already know there will be a Season 21 (the drama was renewed in February). Sonja Flemming/CBS Of course, we can’t help but wonder how...

Ruzek needs out of this Beck case; it's getting too stressful!
He finally made some headway with the investigation on Chicago Pd Season 10 Episode 18, and it made for a nerve-wracking hour that put us one step closer to learning what Beck's massive plan is.
And we got there because of a brutal, horrific hate crime that's enough to have anyone with a heart stewing.
The closer Ruzek gets to this Beck case, the more intense things have gotten, and there's always this touch of fear that this is a case that could jeopardize Ruzek and his family. The concern over what could happen if Richard found out about Mak is enough to leave a person on pins and needles.
Richard Beck is a sick, evil, hateful man. And he's spawning that in those around him. It seems like Samantha is coming out as more of a victim to her father,...

Today’s indictment of Donald Trump quickly became tonight’s punchline for TV’s late-night hosts.
Trump arch-nemesis Jimmy Kimmel said he found out about Trump’s indictment less than two hours before walking onstage, but the Jimmy Kimmel Live! host had no problem filling most of his monologue with Trump jokes, including “The ‘J’ in ‘Donald J. Trump’ now stands for ‘Jail,’ ” and, “He’s going to be read his Miranda Rights. Wait until he finds out that all this time he had the right to be silent.”
Kimmel also had some suggested titles for new reality series Trump might sell, given his circumstances. Among them: The Celebrity Apprehentice, Arrested Developer and, of course, the all-purpose Biggest Loser.
Kimmel had earlier tweeted a video of himself walking out to rapturous applause and, taking a page out of Trump’s book, hugging a flag. “A day many of us thought would never come!

Burzek is Finally back on track.
While it was a compelling hour with a case highlighting the pitfalls of how victims fall through the cracks and could end up on the other side of the law, the most buzzworthy aspect of Chicago Pd Season 10 Episode 17 came in those final five moments.
After an eternity of back and forth and then a stall, Ruzek and Burgess broke through a huge barrier, had an honest conversation about their relationship and Kim's feelings, and made steamy, hot love.
But we can't get into the treats without knocking out the bulk of the hour and the case.
The series tends to make Kim's centrics related to female victims and children, and in that regard, this was no exception.
She pulled a series of violent robberies in this instance, but things turned out unexpectedly when she encountered Ruby.
If this case felt like something ripped...

During his early years of theater and indie film acting, Luiz Guzmán did a spell as a youth counselor in New York City. The actor with a grizzled countenance and a world-weary voice appears to have tapped into those memories for drama “Story Ave.” The actor brings an anchoring warmth to his portrayal of the Mta conductor who is held up by the unsure and anguished, but also infuriating, protagonist in Aristotle Torres’ affecting debut feature (co-written with Bonsu Thompson).

In the film Problemista, Tilda Swinton played the eccentric art critic who drags the immigrant toy designer Alejandro, played by writer and director Julio Torres, around to archive and catalog her late husband’s artwork, played by RZA.
In an exclusive interview with uInterview at the South by Southwest festival, Torres revealed his favorite memory from the project.

When asked what a ‘Problemista’ is, Torres explained, “I think it’s someone who likes chaos and is attracted to chaos and problems and makes art out of problems.”

Jesse Lee Soffer made a highly-anticipated return to the series.
Of course, the caveat was that it was only to make his directorial debut on the series with Chicago Pd Season 10 Episode 16.
It was a strongly Voight-centric hour with a vintage Cpd tone that potentially left Voight pondering the man he's become after Chapman's observations.
The relationship between Voight and Chapman has been intriguing, albeit slow-building. He has a fondness for her and has made assurances that he'd be by her side to get her far in her career.
As with other female colleagues, his dynamic with her is almost paternal.
And that's a double-edged sword because that comes with an understanding of what he does for the people he cares about and intends to protect and how the weight of that impacts them as individuals and ironically strains or tarnishes the relationship he builds with them.

There’s a double meaning to the title of writer-director Aristotle Torres’ debut feature, Story Ave, that neatly sums up what this homegrown NYC coming-of-age drama is all about.
On the one hand, it refers to the fictitious Bronx subway station where its main character, a young and troubled graffiti artist named Kadir, has an encounter that will put him on either the right or wrong path for the future. On the other, it underlines the storybook quality of a movie that, although entrenched in certain socioeconomic realities, veers toward fantasy in some unexpected ways.
Torres, adapting with co-writer Bonsu Thompson from a short they made together in 2018, jumps back and forth between the two elements throughout Story Ave, which takes familiar tropes of the urban youth genre (gang violence, domestic troubles, peer pressure, guns and drugs) and, in its most memorable moments, turns them into something slightly magical. It’s been nearly 30 years since the SXSW Music Conference, held annually in Austin, Texas, added a film component. In the decades since, the SXSW film festival has become a beast all its own, offering a forward-looking view of today’s cinematic landscape, from the work of the buzziest new Hollywood creators to the below-the-radar indie filmmakers looking to make their own unique impact.
This year’s event, held from March 10 to 19, is no different, with a wide-ranging lineup of movies ranging from potential franchise-starter Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves to off-the-beaten-track biopics like Flamin’ Hot, to breakout horror offerings like Talk to Me. There are scores of films on tap, from narrative features to documentaries to animated shorts, and the only downside is that we can’t somehow bring Austin and its glittering stack of new films to the rest of the world. Here’s a sampling.

Julio Torres extracts the fanciful from the mundane. In his HBO special My Favorite Shapes, the stand-up riffs on a collection of random plastic objects. Perhaps the most famous of the deeply original, often moving sketches he wrote in his tenure at SNL centered on a man (Ryan Gosling) tormented by the Papyrus font and its perplexing use in the marketing material for Avatar. The hero of his children’s book, I Want to Be a Vase, is a toilet plunger.
“I joke that we’ve had it up to here with magical children in prep school,” says the 36-year-old comedian of high-concept fare. “How is that genre so much bigger than the I-don’t-know-how-i’m-gonna-make-rent genre?”

What an absolutely fun, balanced, and entertaining hour.
We got exciting calls, delightful personal arcs, and team camaraderie on 9-1-1: Lone Star Season 4 Episode 7, which is the show at its best.
What was most unexpected: Tommy battling it out with a tween or Owen and Paul playing basketball in the middle of the station?
The season has been lacking on the emergency call front, and fortunately, they made up for a bit with some equal parts weird and wild ones that you will remember.
The married couple kicking off the hour with Hannah's dislodged pacemaker, thanks to their vigorous sex life, causing her to literally die if she was right side up, was enough to have a person speechless.
Can you imagine this man wheeling his wife on a dolly, upside down, six blocks to the fire station in the middle of the night? What would someone even...

The Becks are back.
We knew there was no way the Intelligence Unit would see the last of Samantha Beck and her father after Chicago Pd Season 10 Episode 12, and the team is devoted to finding either Beck or his daughter slipping up.
But that's the exciting thing that may relate to the case; Chicago Pd Season 10 Episode 15 also has great personal storyline potential.
Anyone who watches this series knows that one of the most beloved bromances of the unit is Ruzwater.
We haven't had some quality Ruzwater content in a minute, especially with both taking up the mentoring role with the newbie, Torres.
And while we're all for the series switching up the dynamics and exploring some of the different relationships as other members, there's nothing like some classic Ruzwater action.
From the stills, we get the two best friends off the clock, and that's definitely something to look forward...

Marina Squerciati does it again.
As expected, she absolutely delivered a heartwrenching performance on Chicago Pd Season 10 Episode 14, which paid a bit of homage to Kim's resilience and was some necessary exploration of Ptsd, not just for her character specifically, but cops in general who may endure traumas and triggers on the job.
There was beauty in the breakthrough, and an hour that was dark and somber on many occasions felt hopeful by the end, as if there's light at the end of the tunnel for Kim Burgess.
While Chicago P.D. didn't celebrate its milestone 200th hour, a rare feat and achievement in the fickle world of television, with some elaborate case, cameos, and the entire team front-and-center, there's something gratifying about the subtle things they did here.

If you've missed Alvin Olinsky, then gear up for a touching moment!
It's safe to say that the series hasn't been the same since Al's brutal death in Chicago Pd Season 5 Episode 22. And Voight hasn't been the same since he lost his best friend and partner, primarily due to Voight's actions.
Any reference to characters of the past always warms the heart, and it's no exception when we get a significant one during Chicago Pd Season 10 Episode 13.
How that comes to be is interesting, but first, let's break down some things we know and can speculate about "The Ghost of You."
The hour will focus heavily on the new but underused character, Asa Nina Chapman.
We haven't spent much time with her, but we've learned how much of a force she is when we see her.
It takes someone special to get Voight's attention and have him actively rooting for them to succeed.

Liz Torres spent seven years playing Miss Patty on Gilmore Girls. While Torres had a ton of acting credits to her name, Miss Patty is the part that fans connect her with most often. As Stars Hollow’s resident dance teacher, Miss Patty was fun, eccentric, and exuded sexual energy. Torres insists that she didn’t add her spin to the famed character. In fact, she once revealed she was far different from the outspoken character she is best known for. Instead of trying to make Miss Patty into something she wanted, she utilized advice from Lucille Ball to make the character pop.

When Gilmore Girls fans see Liz Torres, they see Miss Patty. Torres, who portrayed the salacious dance instructor, for all seven seasons, also reprised her role in Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. Torres seemed born to play Miss Patty, but she was also in a short-lived and long-forgotten Amy Sherman-Palladino project a few years before the premiere of Gilmore Girls. Her character was far less titillating and more practical than the ever-eccentric Miss Patty.

Madrid (Spain), Jan 31 (Ians) Fc Barcelona has a difficult away game against Betis on Wednesday, but Xavi Hernandez’s side travels to Seville with the chance of opening an eight-point gap at the top of La Liga and putting the pressure on Real Madrid.
The match against Betis (along with Real Madrid’s clash with Valencia on Thursday) is played now after being postponed due to Barca and Betis facing each other in the Super Cup earlier this month.
Barca eventually triumphed in Saudi Arabia, but needed extra time and a penalty shoot-out to get past Betis, who currently sits sixth in the table and would move level with fourth-placed Atletico Madrid with three points on Wednesday.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from Monday’s Season 4 premiere of “9-1-1: Lone Star” on Fox.
Oh, lord. The fourth season premiere of Fox’s “9-1-1” spinoff “Lone Star” began with a spark igniting between Tommy Vega (Gina Torres) and one of the 126’s latest rescues, Trevor Parks (series newcomer D.B. Woodside), and ended with Tommy being surrounded by hellfire as she found out her new crush is also her new reverend.
“You can’t just go out and have drinks and get sloppy with the pastor,” Torres tells Variety of the chief paramedic’s realization that the first man she’s been truly interested in since her husband Charles died isn’t a good candidate for a casual fling.
“She’s a grown woman that understands relationships and has been in relationships,” Torres says. “Charles was not her first and she’s very clear that he’s not going to be her last.

Jack McBrayer makes quite the impression during his Call Me Kat debut.
TVLine has an exclusive sneak peek at Thursday’s episode (Fox, 9:30/8:30c), which welcomes the 30 Rock alum as new hire Gideon, the baker Kat has tapped to replace Leslie Jordan’s Phil — at least for now. In the clip, Kat brings the Amish man over to The Middle C so he can meet all her favorite people (and Sheila), but neglects to warn her friends that Gideon has no filter.

As reported by our sister site Deadline, most of the final three minutes of Accused‘s Sunday night premiere (which was handed a primo, post-nfl playoffs time slot) was preempted by local commercials in 13 markets (or about 8 percent of the country) including Cleveland, St. Louis, Indianapolis, San Diego, Lexington and Honolulu.

In post-Roe America, it goes without saying that there are a lot of obstacles to obtain an abortion. But even before legislation outlawed the procedure in certain states and made it difficult to access across the country, pro-choice activists have been fighting a lack of information.
Abortion can bring up so many questions: Where can I get one? When is the soonest I can get it? How expensive will it be? Is it safe? How do I talk to my partner about it? If I go to a clinic, will there be protesters there? Does getting an abortion make me a bad person? The organization Plan C aims to disseminate clear, correct knowledge about access to medication abortions, including which online pharmacies are legit and who you can call with questions during the process.
