Young and the Restless sees a dramatic week unfold as Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) spirals out of control. The stress caused by Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters), Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), and other sources pushes Jack to the brink, leading to a relapse into addiction.
Young and the Restless: Will Jack Abbott Relapse?
Complications arise as Nikki, fighting her own demons, triggers Jack’s downfall. The fallout between Diane and Nikki is expected to be explosive, further driving a wedge between the Abbott and Newman families.
In the midst of all this, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) is unraveling, and the kidnapping of Jack’s grandson, Harrison Locke (Redding Munsell), adds to his woes. The stress of dealing with Nikki, his former lover and fellow addict, proves to be the tipping point for Jack. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is expected to intervene, which could potentially cause more tension.

The last time fans saw Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) in the Young and the Restless (Y&r) was in May 2023 during the show’s 50th anniversary celebrations. He surprised friends and family when he arrived at the Jazz Club to honor Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John).
Both Malcolm and Shemar are fan favorites on the show, so what would the actor do if the soap came calling, once more?
Shemar Moore – “I Would Go …”
During an interview with First For Women, actor Shemar Moore revealed that if the Y&r called “today”, he would go. He also added that if Criminal Minds asked him to return, he’d go.
He adds that one should never forget where they came from and goes on to say that it may sound “cheesy” and “cliched”, but it’s true.

With the news that CBS is currently in “accelerated development” on a new daytime soap opera geared towards the African American audience, daytime soap icon Victoria Rowell, who portrayed Drucilla Barber Winters on “The Young and the Restless” off and on from 1990-2007, is happy to see change happening both on-screen and behind the scenes when it comes to the future of daytime dramas.
In a message posted on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, Rowell said, “Change is Possible! Believe it!” while linking to a news story on “The Gates,” a new soap being spearheaded by the first and only Black woman ever to hold the position of head writer/co-head writer of a daytime drama series, Michele Val Jean, and follows a wealthy Black family in a posh, gated community.

The Daytime Emmys announced their call for awards entries on Thursday, February 1. But that’s not all. They also revealed a number of changes to this year’s event, including the elimination of the category of Best Younger Performer in a Drama Series, ending a decades-long tradition of honoring the best up-and-coming talent in the medium. Younger performers will now be slotted into lead, supporting or guest categories instead.
National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) president Adam Sharp said in an official statement, “Programming is always changing, and NATAS continues to adapt its competition rules to reflect these shifts in the television landscape. We’re looking forward to gathering again at the 51st Daytime Emmys to celebrate all the nominees and the entertaining and enlightening programs they create.”

“General Hospital” has won Best Drama Series at the Daytime Emmys 13 times, more than any other soap in history. And it enters the 2020 awards with 23 nominations, the most of any program. But according to our racetrack odds leading into the June 26 virtual ceremony, “The Young and the Restless” has the edge in the top contest, which would put it within striking distance of that “Gh” record.
“Y&r” is the reigning champion for Best Drama. In fact, its 2019 victory was its 10th, which made it only the second show in history to hit double digits. 2019 was a big year for the show overall, introducing Mark Grossman as a resurrected Adam Newman and bringing back fan-favorite actors Michelle Stafford, Melissa Claire Egan, Elizabeth Hendrickson and Greg Rikaart. The show also bid farewell to the character of Neil Winters after the sudden death of actor Kristoff St. John.

Young and the Restless fans are not going to be happy when the week of Winters is over. This is such a classic family we all love so much, and we are taking this chance to see what happened in their lives and running with it. With Neil gone forever, it’s never going to happen again. Knowing the Kristoff St. John is never coming back to the show is hard on all fans. There’s a finality to this with his death. Had he simply left the show for retirement or other personal reasons, it would be different. But, he’s not

Young and the Restless fans are more than a little bit excited about this week because it is a big one. To spend the week celebrating and focusing on the Winters family is everything good because we do love them so much. We are so saddened and still so shocked by the unexpected death of Kristoff St. John in early 2019. He’s the patriarch of the Winters family, Neil Winters himself. His death rocked the world, which is why we are nothing short of entirely elated that we get to see him for a full week in these episodes that

We know that Criminal Minds is returning soon for its 15th and final season. We know that - based on the cast photos shot for the July/August issue of CBS's Watch! Magazine - all of our favorite series vets will be reprising their roles, including David Rossi (Joe Mantegna), Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler), Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster), Jennifer "J.J." Jareau (A.J. Cook), Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness), Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler), Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez), and Matt Simmons (Daniel Henney). We even know that Hallmark Channel star Rachael Leigh Cook will be joining the cast as Spencer Reid's love interest, Max, and that Jane Lynch is set to make an appearance this season as Reid's mother, Diana.

Beloved characters who die often come back to life even if the actors playing them no longer want to be a part of the show. Recasts are abundant.

The story of Neil Winter's passing by a sudden stroke was the focus of much of this week on The Young and the Restless.

This year Jacqueline MacInnes Wood earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for Best Actress for her role as Steffy Forrester on “The Bold and the Beautiful.” It’s her fourth nomination overall but her first as a leading lady, which puts her in elite company. It makes her only the fifth woman to achieve the triple crown of nominations as a younger, supporting and lead actress. But she still hasn’t won. Is this her year?
MacInnes Wood achieved all of her nominations in the span of just seven years. She picked up a pair of Best Younger Actress bids (2012-2013), which she lost to Christel Khalil (“The Young and the Restless”) and Kristen Alderson (“General Hospital”), respectively.
