Don't forget to breathe now that the credits rolled!
Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 Episode 4 featured a horrifying shootout.
Stabler racing toward a dark house where men lurked in the shadows with machine guns, a surprise twist, and an unexpected injury all got my adrenalin pumping. How about you?
The shootout was the climax of a riveting episode.
The situation at the Stabler family home paralleled Kiki's resentment and foolish sabotage of the plan to go into witness protection, adding to the tension. I couldn't decide which part of the hour fascinated me more: the case or the family stuff -- and that's unusual.
Stabler's issues with Randall, Eli's resentment that his father is always working, and Bernie's cognitive decline all came to a head at once.
Elliot Stabler has been the family's black sheep for a while, and these exchanges made that clear.
Not only did he know nothing...

Change is always difficult, and doubly so if your name's Elliot Stabler.
Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 4 Episode 1 began with the oft-repeated beat of Stabler getting into trouble on an undercover mission.
But things started to get interesting once Stabler returned to the office and met the new AI guy.
Unsurprisingly, Jet was cool with the new tech, while Reyes and Stabler had doubts. However, Vargas and his software open storyline possibilities while reflecting trends in real-life policing.
I was glad that Jet and Bell understood that AI is morally neutral -- it's a tool, and whether it's helpful or harmful depends on the data it's fed and what its capabilities are used for.
Whether anyone likes it or not, AI is here to stay -- and human rights advocates fear police could misuse it. That alone makes this storyline worth it; Organized Crime could explore all facets of this issue.

This article contains spoilers for Law & Order: Organized Crime season 4 episode 1.
In the season three finale of Law & Order: Organized Crime, fans were shocked when Detective Jamie Whelan was shot in the neck and killed off after the bullet went through his spine. The injury had Whelan convinced he would never walk again as he lost all feeling in his upper and lower body, despite Jet Slootmaekers (Ainsley Seiger) and Bobby Reyes’ (Rick Gonzalez) assurance that he would be okay. After hearing Jet say that she loves him over the phone, he asks Reyes to let him go, insisting that he can’t and won’t live this way.
Of course, Reyes refuses to disconnect the plugs, but when he leaves the room so that Whelan’s father could visit, it seems that his father did exactly what his son asked for. We see the doctors rush in...

Exclusive: Writer-director Courtney J. Camerota has wrapped production on her first feature, Dead Guy, a dark comedy shot under an Interim Agreement that will be introduced to buyers at AFM by CAA Media Finance. Among those in the starry cast are two-time Oscar nominee Michael Shannon (The Bikeriders), Golden Globe nominee Eva Longoria (Sylvie’s Love), Judy Greer (White House Plumbers), Luis Guzman (Story Ave), Amaury Nolasco (The Valet), Rory Culkin (Black Mirror), Curtis Armstrong (New Girl), Ashley Reyes (Walker), and Richard Ellis (Walker).
Dead Guy‘s plot is set into motion when an abrasive old man suddenly dies in the apartment of a neighbor. An absurd game of hot potato then begins with the not-so-dearly departed, as neighbors and building workers each pass the body along, in the hopes of not being linked to the old man’s demise.
Marking the launch of Shft, the new production company of Zac Adams, Dead Guy is also produced by Ryan Lewis of Ryan J. Lewis, Esq, as well as Chadd Harbold of Post Film. Jack Christian of Filmology served as a producer and financier. Exec producers included D.J. McPherson of Filmology, Jared Safier and Justin Safier of Safier Entertainment, Russ Posternak of Post Film, and Nathan Marcus.
Said Camerota, “I wrote this script years ago and to finally see it come to life is a dream come true. The opportunity to work with such an incredible cast, crew and producing team for my directorial debut has been an absolute honor. I can’t wait for the world to see Dead Guy.”
Producer Zac Adams stated that “as both a filmmaker and movie lover, the main goal is to always create films that are not only of the highest quality, but films that are enjoyable. With the world being as dark as it’s been the past few years, I hope our film helps spread some much needed light. It was an absolute honor and privilege in helping Courtney’s vision come to life.”
Added producer Ryan Lewis, “When I read this script I knew this movie had to be made. I’m thrilled that I got to help make it, and got to do so with both a friend and client in Courtney. Our incredible cast is a testament to Courtney’s writing and I’m overjoyed to see her vision come to life on the big screen.”
Shannon is repped by CAA, Range, and Yorn, Levine, Barnes; Longoria by WME, Linden Entertainment, and Yorn, Levine, Barnes; Greer by CAA, Artists First, and Felker Toczek Suddleson; Guzman by Gersh and Gravesend Entertainment; Nolasco by Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman; Culkin by Paradigm and Brookside Artist Management; Armstrong by Cesd; and Reyes by Stewart Talent and Mosaic.

As horror fans, and especially gaming fans, we long for the days of the past. The days of Resident Evil and Silent Hill on the PlayStation One. The days of survival horror as a new exciting genre where anything was possible and the sky was the limit, only held back by hardware of the time. We’re living in a golden age of survival horror where the genre is probably the most diverse it’s ever been, so it was appealing when Daymare: 1998 came out. Originally a fan remake of Resident Evil 2, the game soon became an original game that set out to deliver an old-school survival horror experience that fans of yesterday could enjoy.
But when Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle was announced as the second installment of a trilogy, I was curious. Not only was it a prequel taking place before the first game, it also leaned into the sci-fi elements of the series.

I missed the boat with Daymare: 1998 in its original release but I finally found myself playing it this last year. What started as a fan remake of the great Resident Evil 2 soon evolved into its own original creation and set out to deliver an old-school survival horror experience. Though made from a very small team, developers Invader Studios succeeded in some aspects but fell wildly short in others. So it’s interesting to see Invader go back to the drawing board and carve out a more unique identity with Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle.
Did they succeed in Round 2? The results may surprise you.
Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle follows H.A.D.E.S. operative Dahlia Reyes. Set before the first game’s events, Sandcastle follows her and her squad as they take part in “Operation Sandcastle,” which takes them into the depths of Area 51. An event only referenced in the first game, Sandcastle...

In a word? Wow.
Mayans M.C. Season 5 Episode 5 delivered thrills, satisfying developments, and some crazy cliffhangers that will shake up the series' dynamics like never before.
Seriously. It felt like a set-up for a series finale and successfully washed away all of my gripes about the conflict and tone this season. The stakes have never been higher, and somehow, everyone managed to surprise me during "I Want Nothing But Death."
We'll dive in first with E.Z. because he's our leading man and will probably bear the brunt of the blowback in the final episodes.
When you look at E.Z.'s evolution throughout the series, he's slowly entertained the darkness. Now, with everyone looking to him as the president of the Santo Padre Charter, he's delivering what's expected of him and then some.
Strategically, the better play would have been to send Taza in with the hopes of him...

Are you ready for this, Mayans M.C. Fanatics?
FX has released a trailer and photos for Mayans M.C. Season 5 Episode 5, and if you were hoping for some peace and happiness for your favorite members of the Santo Padre Charter, this is not the content for you.
"As the war with the Sons escalates, the two clubs square off in a fight to the death," the cabler warns of the episode that promises to change everything.
Truthfully, everything that happens in the trailer is what I had on my bingo card for the series finale, so if we're getting this battle now, it gives me hope that the series will end somewhere different than I envisioned.
E.Z. has been pushed to the limit on Mayans M.C. Season 5 because with great power comes great responsibility.
He's had to make big decisions that have had enormous implications for everyone, but...

‘The Horror Of Dolores Roach’ Trailer: Amazon’s Prime Video Previews Justina Machado’s “Magic Hands”
Justina Machado stars in The Horror of Dolores Roach, the new series on Amazon’s Prime Video dropping July 7. A trailer for the eight-episode series was released (which you can see above) and it previews the capabilities of Dolores Roach’s “magic hands.”
The Amazon Original based on the Spotify podcast of the same name and created by Aaron Mark’s one-woman play Empanada Loca, is a contemporary Sweeney Toddi-inspired story. Machado plays Dolores Roach, a woman just released after an unjust 16-year prison sentence, and she returns to a gentrified Washington Heights.
Dolores reunites with an old stoner friend, Luis (Alejandro Hernández), who lets her live and work as a masseuse in the basement under his empanada shop. When the promise of her newfound stability is quickly threatened, “Magic Hands” Dolores is driven to shocking extremes to survive.
Mark created, wrote, and directed the original podcast and penned the series’ pilot script.

Dating back to the 1930s, Blue Beetle is one of DC’s most venerable superheroes. But aside from a single episode of Smallville, he’s never made it to the screen in live action… until now. Cobra Kai's Xolo Maridueña stars as Jaime Reyes, a directionless college graduate who develops unpredictable powers after inadvertently bonding with the Scarab — an ancient relic of alien biotechnology — and being gifted with an incredible symbiotic suit of armour. The trailer, released in April, managed to simultaneously conjure vibes of Spider-Man, Iron Man and the Spy Kids franchise, and this first Blue Beetle movie may not be the last.

Incredibly, "The Fast and the Furious" came out 22 years ago and has gone on to spawn multiple sequels that will finally come to an end with "Fast X" and the recently announced "Fast and the Furious 11," both directed by Louis Leterrier. Future spin-offs are always a possibility, but for now, the increasingly complex storyline involving Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), Letty Ortiz (Michelle Rodriguez), and the rest of their death-defying familia has reached the finish line.
Judging from the trailer for "Fast X," the latest entry is revisiting and reinventing some of the massive action set pieces from the previous films. The new blockbuster will also connect back to the events of "Fast Five," introducing Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa) as the main villain who's seeking revenge for the death of his father, Herman Reyes (Joaquim De Almeida). The action promises to be next level, but what about the emotional stakes for...

Steven Lopez, a lesser-known co-defendant of the Central Park Five, had his related robbery conviction overturned Monday, July 25, The New York Times reports.
Lopez was 15 when he and the rest of the Central Park Five were arrested and charged with raping a white woman jogging through Central Park. While the Central Park Five — all teenagers who were either Black or Hispanic — were infamously convicted based on false confessions obtained by police, Lopez struck a deal with prosecutors, avoiding the rape charge, and instead pleading guilty to robbing a male jogger.
