A role that he held onto for nine years saw his popularity sky-rocket and his persona greatly amplified. Additionally, his off-screen life also largely mirrored his on-screen role as every day brought with it new adventures and the fearless star had no hesitation in trying out exploring something he had never done before, almost on a daily basis.

Christopher Reeve’s Superman is most people’s definitive portrayal of the character. Richard Donner successfully balanced the superheroic aspects of the character along with the nerdy charm of his alter ego Clark Kent. The success of the first film led to Reeve returning for three sequels.

Forget American Horror Story, Prime Video Just Dropped Its Perfect Replacement With 100% Tomatometer
The detective genre mixed with something paranormal-ish has been a key to streaming success for quite a long time now — and Prime Video’s brand new series turns out to be one more proof for it.

Them: The Scare, the newest entry into the black horror anthology for Prime Video, will blow your mind.
The follow-up to Them: Covenant brings the action forward in a few decades to 1991, where LAPD Detective Dawn Reeve will be embroiled in a case unlike anything she's ever seen.

Superman, the beloved Kryptonian superhero from the DC Universe, has been played by multiple actors over the years in numerous different adaptations — both good and not-so-good. Superman director James Gunn made a video appearance during the Warner Bros panel for CinemaCon. While he didn’t have a lot to reveal just yet, he did tease that next year will be the “summer of Superman” as he revealed a closer look at the new logo, which seems reminiscent of the one from the Max Fleischer cartoons.
DC Studios co-ceo Peter Safran came out on the CinemaCon stage to tease the other Superman movie: Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story. The heart-wrenching documentary was acquired by Warner Bros. earlier this year for $15 million, and Safran revealed that it would be released in theaters this September. An exact date wasn’t specified, but the trailer screened at CinemaCon brought tears to more than a few in the audience.

Kevin Feige is known for his significant role in shaping the MCU. As Marvel Studios’ President, he has been instrumental in its remarkable success since its launch in 2008 with ‘Iron Man.’
However, Feige’s favorite superhero movie, surprisingly, isn’t a Marvel character film. It’s about Dcu’s most notable and influential superhero of all time – Superman.
During the 2017 Oscar ceremony, Feige shared that before beginning any MCU production, he always re-watches ‘Superman,’ directed by Richard Donner and released in 1978, starring Christopher Reeve as the iconic Man of Steel.

While 2023 was a great year for original releases, that is not true for several major franchises, including the fifth installment in Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones series. After being in the Disney oven for a long while, the sequel to 2008’s The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull finally saw the light, which, for the first time in the franchise, didn’t see Steven Spielberg helming.
Led by James Mangold, Dial of Destiny had a huge challenge heading into the box office, following its humongous budget, and unfortunately, ended up becoming a huge financial disaster. But despite becoming a huge flop, it’s nowhere close to the biggest box-office flop in the last decade.

Christopher Reeve was initially unsure about landing the role of Superman when he heard that Marlon Brando and Gene Hackman were going to appear in the movie. Since he was not as famous as these actors, he doubted his chances of getting the role. Working with Brando was a big deal at the time. However, in an interview, Reeve revealed that he did not enjoy working with him.
Christopher Reeve in Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (1987)
Christopher Reeve’s career quite literally went skywards with his appearance as the DC superhero Superman in the eponymous 1978 movie. His first professional screen appearance as an actor came with his role as Ben Harper in the 1974 CBS soap opera Love of Life. He did not appear in a Hollywood movie until 1978 when he starred in Gray Lady Down. He once told David Letterman the reason behind the hostility between him and Brando after working in Superman.

The Duke of Sussex made headlines for what he said — more on that ahead — but, as for why he stepped in front of the camera, a royal author has shared their own theory. There seems to be trouble with Prince Harry’s comment about how illness “brings families together.” On the heels of visiting King Charles III as he undergoes cancer treatment, the Duke of Sussex discussed the time he spent with his father and how it could positively impact their relationship. The problem, according to an expert, is that Harry doesn’t “belong” to the royal family.

Prince Harry hasn’t exactly had the best relationship with the royal family in recent years. The Duke of Sussex left the family back in 2020, and he’s been living in California with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, ever since. Harry has come under fire in recent years for unveiling too much information surrounding his always-private family.
Recently, though, Harry kept his responses pretty short in an interview with Christopher Reeve. And specifically, he declined to answer one question that would have let even more information slip about the royal family. It seems Harry is trying to change the narrative on his reputation for spilling the beans.

His latest absence came days after Strahan shut down a co-anchor following fiery remarks over a GMA story. It also arrived just as his daughter shared a video of her ongoing recovery from a health scare.
DeMarco Morgan, one of several ABC anchors who have covered for Strahan during absences, was filling in on Thursday’s GMA for the former NFL star.
Strahan’s colleagues, Robin Roberts and George Stephanopolous, were alongside Morgan for the GMA episode.
Stephanopolous welcomed viewers and began introducing a preview of the show’s upcoming stories.
“Just three days until the big game in Las Vegas,” Roberts said once the crew appeared on camera again.

Warner Bros. Discovery (Wbd) has confirmed its worldwide acquisition of Sundance documentary Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story.
The film reportedly sold for $15m – a huge number for a documentary which illustrates how executives see it as a broad commercial prospect across the Wbd stable.
A Wbd spokesperson said DC Studios/Warner Bros. Motion Pictures, HBO, CNN Films and Max jointly sought out the project and will collaborate on the global release across theatrical and home viewing release windows.

Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story is a documentary that’s set to debut in early 2024: more here.
In the past 24 hours, the full programme has been announce for this year’s Sundance Film Festival, with a mix of eye-catching features from around the globe set to debut this coming January.
Here’s one that’s particularly caught my eye, though: a documentary feature about the late and much-missed Christopher Reeve.
To a generation of us growing up, Reeve simply was Superman. But as his autobiography testifies too, there was an awful lot more to him, both before and after the accident that would be such a major turning point in his life. It was in 1995 that, in a riding accident, Reeve’s first and second vertebrae were irreparably damaged, leaving his paralysed from the neck down.
His book is incredibly candid about this period of his life, and the slow rebuild.

Robin Roberts was missing from the latest episode of Good Morning America following her big night out.
The GMA anchor was replaced on the show for yet another installment in the past several weeks.
Roberts had appeared on the program earlier in the week, blasting critics for attacking the ongoing Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce coverage.
The televised segment included a story featuring Kelce’s interview comments and a discussion of the relationship, followed by Roberts’ voicing her strong opinions.
She was abruptly absent on Friday’s episode, with her familiar co-anchors still appearing at the desk.
However, Roberts seemed to have a good reason for her latest absence after a significant event she appeared at in support of her latest project.

Some people have had enough of the constant attention focused on singer Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce’s relationship.
On a recent episode of Good Morning America, Robin Roberts expressed her feelings about all the publicity and talk surrounding the couple.
A segment featured a story about the star couple’s ongoing relationship, which has extended from the NFL regular season to the upcoming Super Bowl.
Since the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the San Francisco 49ers, Swift could attend the game to support her man and his team in their quest to add another win to their collection.
During GMA’s story from Will Reeve, Kelce was shown as he gave his thoughts about himself and Swift supporting one another and dealing with what their relationship has brought.
Following the piece’s presentation, Roberts seemed riled up about the topic as she spoke to her colleagues.

“Will & Harper,” a heartfelt and heartbreaking documentary about Will Ferrell’s cross-country road trip with his best friend Harper Steele, who recently came out as transgender, sold to Netflix after its Sundance Film Festival debut. Financial terms of the pact were not disclosed, but “Will & Harper” was drawing interest from several buyers.
The film, directed by “Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar” filmmaker Josh Greenbaum, was warmly embraced in Park City with two standing ovations after the credits rolled.
“We are thrilled about how audiences received the movie with open arms at Sundance,” the filmmakers said in a statement. “It’s a movie about the power of friendship and acceptance, that we hope can help shift the culture, and so we are excited to have a partner in Netflix that has the ability to reach the largest possible audience worldwide.”

“More movies! Less money!” With those demands — chanted by actors in TV promos — Starz launched on February 1, 1994, as the first new premium-pay TV channel in more than a decade and a competitor for HBO and Showtime. The appeal, as spokesperson Christopher Reeve explained in those same promos, was a bundle with the sibling channel Encore for $4.95 per month, offering subscribers access to 180 titles per month — including first-run theatrical releases, cinematic classics, and film-festival faves. “Starz is a movie lover’s dream,” Reeve declared. Thirty years later, Starz is a television lover’s dream, having followed its premium competitors into the realm of original programming. Starz hasn’t matched HBO and Showtime’s critical or commercial success, perhaps — it has only a fraction of HBO’s subscribers and far fewer Emmy nominations, for instance — but the channel’s commitment to bold storytelling is evident in its beloved original series. Here are...
