There’s a new clip out for the upcoming Nicole Kidman vehicle, Rabbit Hole, and its release has me really wondering if this film is anyone’s radar, and whether or not anyone is eager to see it. Not exactly my normal fare, something about this one is making me wonder if I might wind up finding myself recommending it pretty strongly.
Take a look at the new clip, the trailer, and some info, and let me know what you think.
Rabbit Hole is a vivid, hopeful, honest and unexpectedly witty portrait of a family searching for what remains possible in the most impossible of all situations.
Becca and Howie Corbett (Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart) are returning to their everyday existence in the wake of a shocking, sudden loss. Just eight months ago, they were a happy suburban family with everything they wanted. Now, they are caught in a maze of memory,...

Exclusive: In the first major deal of the American Film Market, FilmDistrict has acquired North American distribution rights to Drive, the Nicolas Winding Refn-directed adaptation of the James Sallis novel that stars Ryan Gosling as a Hollywood stuntman who moonlights as a getaway driver and is targeted for death after a heist goes wrong. Carey Mulligan, Ron Perlman, Bryan Cranston, Albert Brooks and Mad Men's Christina Hendricks round out a strong cast. FilmDistrict was started by Gk Films partners Graham King and Tim Headington and run by Peter Schlessel and veteran distribution exec Bob Berney. They hatched the company to generate or acquire films with strong casts that can play on between 1500 and 2000 screens. Drive certainly fits that bill. The film is about two weeks from wrapping and has a budget under $30 million despite shooting in Los Angeles. FilmDistrict will look to release in late summer or early fall,...

Nicolas Winding Refn’s upcoming action-thriller titled Drive is definitely our favourite. No wonder, since the movie already stars Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston, Ron Perlman, Christina Hendricks, Oscar Isaac and Albert Brooks.
So, jut like we promised, we’re back with some official announcement about the story that follows:
“…a Hollywood stunt driver by day (Ryan Gosling), a loner by nature, who moonlights as a top-notch getaway driver-for-hire in the criminal underworld.
He finds himself a target for some of La’s most dangerous men after agreeing to aid the husband of his beautiful neighbor, Irene (Carey Mulligan). When the job goes dangerously awry, the only way he can keep Irene and her son alive is to do what he does best – Drive!”
Nicolas Winding Refn is directing from a screenplay by Hossein Amini, which was, as we mentioned, adapted from the James Sallis novel.

Toronto -- In a move that injects a new contender into this year's Oscar race, Lionsgate has picked up North American rights to John Cameron Mitchell's "Rabbit Hole," which had its world premiere Monday at the Toronto International Film Festival.
As the festival winds to its Sunday close, other distributors were lining up films that could play next year's festival circuit: IFC Films said it has acquired worldwide rights, except Canada, to Barry Avrich's documentary "Unauthorized: The Harvey Weinstein Project," and Sony Pictures Classics said it picked up North American rights to Pedro Almodovar's latest movie, gothic thriller "The Skin I Inhabit," now filming.
Additionally, Anchor Bay Films has secured rights to "Carjacked," a thriller being directed by John Bonito ("The Marine").
Lionsgate will release "Rabbit" by year's end, and based on positive reactions here, that should make the movie a player during awards season.

Talk about a project that goes against the grain. First you have Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn leaving the genre fair he is known for and going full on Hollywood. Then you have indie actor Ryan Gosling taking the Jason Statham route, and finally, Carey Mulligan, the pint-sized actress might play the bad girl on Drive - a Universal Pictures action burning rubber flick that is set to begin shooting in Los Angeles next month. If she does land the gig, Mulligan would be toplining Geoffrey Fletcher's directorial debut Violet and Daisy directly after this project and she'll be in Toronto on the first weekend of the Toronto Int. Film Festival for the premiere of Mark Romanek's Never Let Me Go. Scripted by Hossein Amini (whose most recent screenplays 08's Killshot and 2010's Shanghai haven't have not been in good posture with the company holding their rights) this...

Having just reported that Carey Mulligan is in talks to star in Geoffrey Fletcher's upcoming Thelma and Louise-esque film Violet And Daisy, we hear from THR that she's gone and got herself into negotiations for something else! Drive is Nicolas Winding Refn's adaptation of the book by James Sellis.
The story follows a struggling Hollywood stuntman (who will be played by The Notebook's Ryan Gosling) who moonlights as a getaway car driver during bank robberies. But when one of his jobs goes awry, he ends up on the run with an ex-con's girlfriend (Mulligan's potential role) riding in the passenger seat.
Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston is also set to join the cast, while the producing team includes Marc Platt, Gigi Pritzker, Michel Litvak and Adam Siegel. David Lancaster, Gary Michael Walters, Bill Lischak and Linda McDonough will serve as executive producers.
We do hope that Mulligan is adept at multi-tasking,...
