We have been waiting quite a long while for this news, and although it therefore isn’t a complete surprise, Syfy‘s cancellation of Sanctuary still comes as a blow to its legion of fans. Starring Amanda Tapping, Robin Dunne, Ryan Robbins, Christopher Heyerdahl, Agam Darshi, and Robert Lawrenson, the series ran for four seasons.
THR reported the news, confirming a statement by Mark Stern, president, Syfy original content and co-head, Ucp:
We’re honored to have been part of this incredible series. In addition to garnering unmatched devotion by fans worldwide, Sanctuary was a bona fide trailblazer, setting new standards with its highly innovative production techniques – including pioneering green screen and Red camera technology – and Emmy-nominated visual effects… It’s been an amazing ride and we look forward to our next project with Amanda Tapping, Martin Wood and Damian Kindler.
Amanda Tapping tweeted this reaction:

Syfy’s Sanctuary will not fly for a fifth season, it was announced on Monday — news that elicited a familiar refrain from series lead Amanda Tapping.
“‘Bloody hell’ indeed,” Dr. Magnus’ portrayer shared via Twitter, not long after the bad news broke. But prior to that, the actress gave kudos to the show’s passionate fans, saying, “We love and adore you. Thank you for the love and support. Now to the long dark tea time of my soul.”

Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein's 'Underworld: Awakening' hits theatres next month and now the first TV spot for the upcoming sequel has hit the tube. The spot features never before seen footage too so isn't that a stroke of good luck? The latest installment sees Kate Beckinsale (below) return to tight-fitting outfits as she gets back to grips with her character Selene who awakens from a coma state to track down her hybrid daughter. The hightlight of the spot for me though has to be the brief glimpse of Beckinsale's leather-bound butt shuffling through a ventilation shaft. Beckinsale is joined by Michael Ealy, Sandrine Holt, Robert Lawrenson, Stephen Rea, Theo James and Charles Dance. Check out the new TV footage below....

Dr. Magnus (Amanda Tapping) finds herself out of time in the Season 4 premiere of Sanctuary, Tempus.

When Sanctuary was renewed for its third season there was a surprising increase in the episode order to 20, seven more than was requested for the preceding two seasons. It was equally surprising, and slightly disconcerting, then, when that number dropped back to 13 for Season 4.
However, according to Tapping, who plays the lead role of investigator of abnormals, Dr. Helen Magnus, the shorter order had pros as well as cons for the cast and crew.

The new official website for Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein's upcoming 'Underworld: Awakening' installment has been launched. It's not exactly worthy of excitement right now as it only contains the trailer and some intenrational release date info. Still we're certain it'll be packed out soon with more goodies and I guess at least it features a nice crisp still of Kate Beckinsale who returns to the franchise as the sexy Selene. Michael Ealy, India Eisley, Sandrine Holt, Robert Lawrenson, Stephen Rea, Theo James and Charles Dance ('Alien 3') all co-star. Click the link below to view the new site. Click here to view the . I know there are many of you looking forward to seeing this movie, and you should be excited. We saw some footage for the film at Comic-Con this year, and the stuff I saw was pretty freakin' awesome. This could be the best film in the series. I was really impressed with what I saw.
Here's a brief synopsis:

Underworld: Awakening Teaser Trailer. Måns Mårlind, Björn Stein‘s Underworld: Awakening (2012) teaser trailer stars Kate Beckinsale, Michael Ealy, Theo James, Charles Dance, and India Eisley. Underworld: Awakening plot synopsis: “The vampire warrioress Selene, escapes imprisonment to find herself in a world where humans have discovered the existence of both Vampire and Lycan clans and are conducting an all-out war to eradicate both immortal species.”
We previously posted the Underworld: Awakening (2012): Plot Synopsis, Cast, Crew Details.
Underworld: Awakening looks good. The first two Underworld films were pale imitations of the greatest of the first Blade film. Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (which we reviewed here: Film Review: Underworld: Rise of the Lycans) is the only redeemable film in the franchise though at its core it made little sense i.e. vampires do not age, their dead.
The action in this vampire movie looks pretty solid and the film has the...

Could it be that “New Dawn” sounds a little too close to “Breaking Dawn”, the last installment of the “Twilight” saga? Perhaps. At any rate, “Underworld 4″ now sports the subtitle “Awakening”, which hints at the forthcoming sequel’s wonky little plotline. The film takes place 15 years after the events in “Underworld: Evolution”, which finds our sexy heroine Selene awakening from a coma to discover that she has a half-Lycan, half-vampire daughter. Oh, the drama! “Underworld 4: Awakening”, which stars Kate Beckinsale, Michael Ealy, India Eisley, Robert Lawrenson, and Sandrine Holt, sinks its teeth into movie-goers on January 20th, 2012. Considering January is the month that most studios empty their cinematic bowels into the public’s collective wallet, I’m not getting my hopes up. Below you’ll find another shot of Beckinsale holding a pair of hand cannons while looking deliciously vampiric. Source: Horror-Movies.ca...

The Alcatraz TV Show Trailer has premiered. Danny Cannon‘s Alcatraz (2013), produced by J.J. Abrams, stars Sarah Jones, Sam Neill, Jorge Garcia, Parminder Nagra, and Robert Forster. Alcatraz‘s plot synopsis: “Alcatraz follows Rebecca Madsen, a police officer (Sarah Jones), and Dr. Diego Soto (Jorge Garcia), a ‘hippy geek’ who is the world’s foremost expert on Alcatraz. Both will investigate the reappearance of twenty wardens and prisoners of Alcatraz in modern day, after their mysterious disappearance fifty years ago.”
Some fool over at another website quipped that this show looked like The 4400, true, but then surmised that this plot also had something to do with aliens, wrong. Even if it were true, I doubt J.J. Abrams would ripoff a deceased USA show so blatantly. He has something crafty up his sleeve to explain the Alcatraz criminals lack of age. They were probably frozen somehow and stored like a...

The TV networks have not announced its official fall schedule yet, but most have just announced which shows have made the cut for the fall lineup. J.J. Abram’s Alcatraz has been picked up, but comic book adaptation Locke & Key didn’t make the cut to the Fox team. Wonder Woman is close to being picked up by NBC, but no official word yet.
Alcatraz “follows a team of FBI agents who try to unravel the mystery involving a group of Alcatraz prisoners and guards who vanished 30 years earlier only to reappear in the present day” and brings back a few familiar faces from the sci-fi genre: Jorge Garcia of Lost, Sam Neill of many movies and television shows, Robert Forster and Santiago Cabrera of Heroes, Paul McGillion of Stargate Atlantis, and Robert Lawrenson of Sanctuary.
