In the one-stoplight rural town of Pewamo, Michigan (population 475), four 7-year-olds have formed an unusual bond that will likely stay with them for the rest of their lives. What are the odds, their first-grade teacher at Saint Joseph School wonders, that one-third of her 13 students fought incredible obstacles to live and thrive before they all ended up in the same classroom? "It really is a precious gift to witness each day when they walk into the classroom ready to learn and interact," Connie Warcinsky, who has taught for 16 years at the Catholic school, tells People. There are few filmmakers quite like Michael Mann. As a stylist he makes radical choices with light, composition and focus, and while his films work as popular entertainment, they often run with rich thematic undercurrents. In short, his style deepens the storytelling. Vimeo user Tom Kramer has created a gorgeous tribute to Mann's extraordinary career from his early work on film to his transition to a pioneer of shooting on digital. It’s also an eye-opening reminder of Mann’s visual poetry, and his unparalleled work when it comes to nighttime photography. Out of their genre context, one could assume these images had come from an art film or something from Terrence Malick (if he made films in contemporary cityscapes), but they carry a look that is distinctly Mann. Watch the exhilarating video below (and kudos to Kramer's excellent use of Brian Eno's "An Ending (accent)" in his supercut). Warning,...

Michael Mann has perhaps one of the most unique and innovative directors working today. From what is arguably the greatest La crime saga of all time in Heat to the beautiful romance of The Last of the Mohicans and bringing Hannibal Lectre to the big screen for the first time in Manhunter, Mann has created a vast and wide ranging filmography.
A new 9 minute video released on IndieWire called The Sublime Presence in Michael Mann’s Films examines what exactly gives Michael Mann films their undeniable and fiery energy. Created by Tom Kramer, the essay examines most of Mann’s most legendary work. Manhunter, Thief, Heat, The Last of the Mohicans, The Insider, Collateral, and others are weaved together. Set to Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb” the video delves into the rich, complex world of Mann’s films and his often cold characters.

London, December 14: A new study has revealed that studying the horoscope can be actually bad, as it can lead to indulgent and impulsive behaviour upon reading a negative prediction.
Researchers at the University of South Carolina and Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland asked participants to choose between going to a party or cleaning their home after they read a favourable or unfavourable star sign, the Independent reported.
Hyeongmin Kim of Johns Hopkins University, and Katina Kulow and Thomas Kramer of the University of South Carolina said that conventional wisdom might suggest that for people who believe they can change their fate, an unfavourable horoscope should result in an attempt to improve their fate.

On last night's "Real Housewives of Orange County," Tamra Barney held a dinner party to celebrate the opening of her C.U.T. Fitness studio.Among the attendees was Alexis Bellino, who came as Vicki Gunvalson's guest. There has clearly been no love lost between Tamra and Alexis (Alexis and her husband Jim had previously threatened to sue Tamra for defamation).Suffice to say, Tamra seethed that Alexis even showed up to her house gymwarming, and had no appetite for her complaining castmate. The drama on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Miami is only just beginning. Joanna Krupa and Adriana De Moura aren’t the only feuding housewives in the bunch. After Ana Quincoces sparred off with Karent Sierra’s good friend Thomas Kramer during a dinner party, things between the two housewives became tense. “Thomas has a very vivacious personality… and he...Read more»...

Ana Quincoces has managed to steer clear of most of the Real Housewives of Miami drama this season. That is, until she ended up in a shouting match with Karent Sierra’s friend Thomas Kramer on Thursday night’s episode. Not only did Kramer insult Joanna Krupa and her fiancé Romain Zago, but things really took a turn for the...Read more»...

On "The Real Housewives of Miami," the ladies attended a dinner party at the home of wealthy real estate developer Thomas Kramer and, as fans of the show have come to expect at every party these women attend, things got ugly and people started fighting.
Only this time, it was Thomas Kramer who was at the heart of much of the drama. He was controlling and boorish and even had the gall to lash out at Mama Elsa when all she was trying to do was diffuse the escalating tension.
"You dare to talk like this to my friends and my neighbors," he said to her. "Sit down, shut up or leave. I’ve had enough."
Ultimately, Elsa did leave, as did many of the other women. It was a fight that Celebuzz called "nasty," while The Hollywood Gossip summed up Thomas by saying he is a mysogynystic control freak.

"So many people ask me how I keep myself in such good shape," says Lisa Hochstein, a Toronto native who is currently starring in Bravo's The Real Housewives of Miami. "But working out and eating good is really it ... and a lot of people don’t understand that concept."
The 30 year old, who's posed for Playboy three times and is married to plastic surgeon Dr. Lenny Hochstein (known as the "Boob God"), might be simplifying matters slightly. She admits she's been lean her whole life, and taking care of her body certainly informs her daily routine.
"I try to work out four days a week," she tells The Huffington Post Canada, describing a routine that alternates between thighs and triceps, glutes, hamstrings and quadriceps, and abs and calves every day.
A lifetime of dance — she trained in ballet and jazz — and a love of pilates makes the 5"4, 110-pound self-described housewife...

As soon as we thought we could predict the outcome of the Oscars, here comes another surprise! This one's brought to you by the Writers Guild of America. Picked for Best Original Screenplay was Christopher Nolan's "Inception." The director, famously dissed for not getting a Best Director Oscar nomination, may just win the Best Original Screenplay come Oscar night. Oscar front-runner, "The King's Speech" was not nominated because it didn't quality under union rules which prompted Nolan to say during his WGA acceptance award that he looked forward to a time when he could accept the award "without qualification."
That could be the beginning of a great script Mr. Nolan, go write it :happy
For adapted screenplay, I'm happy to report that Aaron Sorkin's fantastic script won! Based on "The Accidental Billionaires" by Ben Mezrich, "The Social Network" was the only film last year that I predicted to win this very category.

10 Best Moments from 'Real Housewives' Episode 1510 Best Moments from 'Real Housewives' Episode 15Girls gone wrong, so wrong. While episode 15 of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" was supposed to be about Cynthia Bailey's bachelorette party, you'd be excused for mistaking this for an outtake of "The Bad Girls Club." Now we love our reality TV drama as much as the next woman, but seeing NeNe and Kim take their bickering to the umpteenth level was a tad upsetting. These two weren't the only ones flinging catty remarks about each other last night. Take a look at 10 moments we won't soon forget.NeNe and Kim bring their bus brawl to South BeachYou'd think arriving at an exclusive mansion on Star Island would cool Kim and NeNe down, but heck, all that heat just seemed to work them up. The two former besties continued calling each other all types of names, from immature and childish to slavemasters.

Ohhh lawwwd. There has been so much delicious Real Housewives of You Name It drama this week that I almost don’t think we deserve all of it. Beginning with last week’s shocking Real Housewives of Beverly Hills finale, where the ladies decided to give Kim the “Remember the Times” treatment and turn her into a quivering pile of dust. My Mother, for what it’s worth, was so distressed over the way Kim was treated that she couldn’t sleep all night. (What have you done to this woman, Andy Cohen?) The reunion this week is going to be off. the. f*cking. hook. And then we head cross-coasts to that little Southern paradise known as The Real Housewives of Atlanta, or in the case of this week’s episode, my hometown of Miami Beach, Fl, where Kandi Buruss and Kim Zolciak were to perform at some outdoor...

It looks like "Real Housewife" Kim Zolciak has moved on, to a man that is. The reality star has now been spotted with new younger boyfriend, 24-year-old Atlanta Falcons player Kroy Biermann.
In Touch has exclusively revealed the new couple, who may come as a shock to some since Zolciak recently made headlines for allegedly dating female DJ Tracy Young.
"They've been dating for about two months," an insider tells In Touch. The wanna-be pop singer and the 260-pound defensive end attended the wedding of new Rhoa cast member Cynthia Bailey on Saturday, where they were seen "laughing, kissing and have a great time together."
It seems that Zolciak doesn't waste much time, as reports in mid-July linked her to Miami Beach business investor and party man, Thomas Kramer.
