Paramount Network today announced that Yellowstone, TV’s #1 show, has started production.
Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, the megahit series is currently filming in Montana.
We got first wind of this exciting news when we saw some casting notices for actors in the area, but now, shooting is underway.
Halleluja.
As previously announced, the series is slated to return in November.
Given the status of the series, which was originally slated for a sixth and seventh season before behind-the-scenes drama spiraled out of control, we don't really know what to expect at this point.
We do know that Yellowstone chronicles the Dutton family who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States.
Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation,...

It’s the beginning of the end for “Yellowstone,” as production has now begun on the final episodes of the megahit series.
The show is once again shooting in Montana on the second half of its fifth season. The first half, which consisted of eight episodes, originally aired between November 2022 and January 2023. The second and final installment, which will consist of six episodes, is slated to debut on Paramount Network in November.
As was previously reported, production on the final episodes of the series was delayed in 2023 due to the dual writers’ and actors’ strikes that shut down most of Hollywood. It was also previously reported that “Yellowstone” star Kevin Costner would be exiting the series in Season 5, reportedly over his desire to focus on the epic Western feature “Horizon,” which would have seriously impacted his availability to film “Yellowstone.” The first part of the film is scheduled to be...

Kevin Costner, who departed the series last year in the starring role of John Dutton, is in Cannes right now where his film Horizon: An American Saga, world premiered. He is currently filming Chapter 3 of Horizon. At a Cannes press conference, Costner said he had taken a break to go to Cannes and is heading back to continue filming.

Yellowstone is saddling up for its final ride.
Taylor Sheridan’s Paramount Network megahit will resume production on its final episodes in the late spring of 2024. Yellowstone, earlier this month, had set a premiere date of November 2024 for the second half of its fifth and final season, which last aired its midseason finale Jan. 6, 2023, and will usher in the end of the series.
The final episodes close the book on the current Dutton family saga. After ending on a game-changing cliffhanger involving Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley), sister Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and patriarch John Dutton (Kevin Costner), the second half of the season had initially been slated for this fall.

The final installment of Yellowstone will begin filming in late spring, 2024. This is a logical start of production target given the fact that the popular series from Taylor Sheridan shoots largely outdoors in Utah and would need to wait for the winter to be over.
To accomodate a spring return to production on the second half of Season 5, Paramount Network recently slated it for a November 2024 premiere. There is no target production start date yet 2024, the contemporary Yellowstone spinoff series whose debut is set to follow the conclusion of the mothership series.
While everything is possible, for now there are no plans for Yellowstone star Kevin Costner to return for the series’ final chapter, we hear. As Deadline reported exclusively, his exit was triggered by a dispute over the extent of his availability in Season 5.
The Yellowstone franchise and the entire Taylor Sheridan slate is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios.

Copland was supposed to be Sylvester Stallone’s comeback movie. Despite earning decent box office and generating Sly’s best reviews in decades, it seemed to be the final nail in his coffin as a leading man, and I don’t understand why. Before Copland, Stallone was headlining huge action movies like Daylight and Judge Dredd, and while they underperformed domestically and overseas, they were still big. One would think that Stallone would have been given an old-school action film to revive his career, but all of a sudden, he was slotted into cheap movies, such as the slasher thriller D-tox, which is also called Eye See You. That movie was so bad that it went direct-to-video, which pretty much meant the end of Stallone’s career for half a dozen years until he managed a major comeback with Rocky Balboa. It would get pretty dire for Sly, but Warner Bros...

While it was reported earlier that Paramount+ original content giant Taylor Sheridan will not be as closely involved with the development of Sicario 3, he definitely has his dance card filling up with more Yellowstone-related projects. The last season of his acclaimed series, which has been immensely popular with audiences, has been marred by behind-the-scenes difficulties with its iconic leading man, Kevin Costner. The last season’s production has also fallen in line with a bevy of other projects that have been delayed with the dual strikes from the WGA and SAG-AFTRA.

“Yellowstone” will come to an end in a year, as Paramount Network has set a November 2024 premiere date for the final episodes of Season 5 that will mark the conclusion of the blockbuster Taylor Sheridan series.
But what is dead may never die — Paramount Network also ordered up two additional spin-offs, “1944” and “2024.” Plot details are under wraps, but the latter spin-off could very well be the new “Yellowstone” series in the works that may star Matthew McConaughey.
All “Yellowstone” series are produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.
The fifth and final season of “Yellowstone” was originally scheduled to air this year, but production schedules were shifted due to the strikes and other hurdles. The first half of the season started airing in November 2022 and concluded in January, and by that point the second half of the season was aiming to air in the fall of 2023.

The current iteration of Yellowstone has a timeline for its final episodes — but two more spinoffs of the Paramount Network hit are in the offing.
The second half of Yellowstone’s fifth season, which will close the book on the current Dutton family saga, is set to premiere in November 2024. The final episodes had been slated for late this year, but the writers and actors strikes meant an end to production.
The two spinoffs in the works are a present-day story with the working title of 2024 and another prequel, 1944, that will follow in the footsteps of 1883 and 1923. As with the previous series, the two spinoffs will be produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.

Yellowstone‘s final chapter, the second half of its fifth season, will premiere on Paramount Network in November 2024. Additionally, the Yellowstone universe is expanding with another prequel, 1944 (working title). And the previously announced contemporary spinoff series is now expected to carry on with the title format of the prequels, getting a 2024 working title, as Paramount is doubling down on the decade idea. Its premiere will follow the conclusion of Yellowstone.

Yellowstone is continuing its run on CBS. Ahead of the Season 1 finale on CBS this Sunday, Season 2 will follow one week later, on Sunday, October 29, on the broadcast network.
Since the Western drama debuted on CBS on Sept. 17, it has posted impressive ratings. Nearly 21.6 million viewers have tuned in to at least one episode on CBS, and over half (52%) are new to the series, having not seen a single episode in the past year on either linear or streaming, according to the network. The series has been the #1 primetime entertainment program every Sunday night during its Season 1 run, averaging 5.49 million viewers for each episode, per Nielsen.

This weekend, Rob Savage (Host) brings his adaptation of Stephen King’s The Boogeyman to theaters. But for those of us who were of horror-watching age eighteen years ago (that hurts to say out loud), there was 2005’s Boogeyman… a horror film that launched an entire trilogy.
That first movie was successful enough to spawn both Boogeyman 2 and Boogeyman 3, though both sequels went straight to video here in the States. So, in honor of the upcoming The Boogeyman, let us take a look back at the Boogeymen of old. Even if they are completely and utterly unrelated in every way possible… and we cannot stress that enough.
Boogeyman (2005)
Directed by Stephen Kay, Boogeyman came to us at an interesting time for the horror genre. “Torture porn” was in full swing with Wolf Creek, Saw and Hostel all releasing. PG-13 horror competition included The Grudge, The Skeleton Key and The Exorcism of Emily Rose.

There are (at time of press) more than 60 feature-length filmed adaptations of Stephen King's works intended for cinematic release. That's without counting television adaptations, works currently in production, or short films. Perhaps the kindest thing I can say about The Boogeyman is that it's one of them.
The short films include two previous versions of this story with the same title. One from 2014 by Bobby Easley, a genre director/actor himself. His later adaptations include Hp Lovecraft's Witch House where he played (the voice of?) a Doctor's Office. Another from 2010 by Gerard Lough, part of a career perhaps more notable for music videos. A similarly titled film by Stephen Kay drops the definite article and claims no direct inspiration. It will be followed by an untitled sequel, from 101 Studios and MTV Entertainment Studios, which has received a straight-to-series order for a December debut.
No talent has been announced for the new series but, as Deadline exclusively reported in February, Matthew McConaughey had been in talks for the project. We hear the Oscar winner remains in negotiations to star. He is expected to be joined by handful of original Yellowstone cast members.

The fifth season of Yellowstone is coming to a close, but the real drama is happening behind the scenes. Creator Taylor Sheridan and lead star Kevin Costner are at the center of a feud that’s been grabbing headlines.
Despite rumors that the series may end because of the tension, Sheridan had already been discussing the show’s conclusion well before the conflict erupted. As avid fans eagerly anticipate the second half of season 5, the fate of Yellowstone remains uncertain.

Yellowstone has a lot of storylines to wrap up in the second half of season 5. With John (Kevin Costner) facing impeachment and a disease ravaging the family’s livestock, it’s unclear how the season will ultimately conclude for the Duttons.
As viewers eagerly tune in for the final episodes, the second half of season 5 has been plagued by filming delays. Despite all the setbacks, creator Taylor Sheridan is currently “in Texas spinning hay into gold” for the popular neo-western.

The first half of season 5 of Yellowstone aired at the start of this year. The season only has a handful of episodes remaining and was originally expected to resume this summer. But with filming still being delayed, a return date hasn’t been set.
There is certainly a lot up in the air with half a season to go.

With just six episodes left in Yellowstone Season 5, there’s a lot of ground to cover.
Between plenty of infighting among the Duttons, John (Kevin Costner) facing impeachment, and an illness threatening the family’s cattle, it’s difficult to say where audiences will find these characters by the end of the season. During Deadline’s Contenders Television panel Sunday, director/executive producer Stephen Kay said he hopes the team will be able to tie up those loose ends soon enough.
“Taylor [Sheridan] is in Texas spinning hay into gold and we’re hoping we’re hoping we’ll do it soon. Everybody’s excited,” he said.
As for everyone’s fate, stars Wes Bentley, Piper Perabo and Gil Birmingham joined the panel to ponder what Sheridan might be planning for their characters. However, Bentley said he has learned not to theorize too much. He just knows, whatever is in store for his Jamie Dutton,...

Very rarely does a show end prematurely when it’s one of the highest-rated series on television. But that fate may soon befall “Yellowstone,” the Paramount Network hit from Taylor Sheridan.
Deadline is reporting that the series, which is expected to premiere the second part of its fifth season later this year, will soon end in its current form. However, Sheridan and Paramount Global will continue the franchise — which has already launched prequel series “1883” and “1923” — via a new show about the central Dutton family, with Matthew McConaughey in talks to star.
“We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of ‘Yellowstone’ and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come,” a Paramount Network spokesperson told IndieWire in a statement. “Thanks to the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan, we are always working on franchise expansions of this incredible world he has built.

This interview contains spoilers for Yellowstone season 5.
Lilli Kay has earned it.
It wasn’t enough that she was a massive fan of Yellowstone. It wasn’t enough that her stepmother, Piper Parabo, had been cast as a recurring character for the past two seasons. It wasn’t even enough that her father, Stephen Kay, has directed over a dozen episodes of Yellowstone, as well as a handful episodes of Mayor of Kingstown, all the while serving as executive producer for both shows. Lilli, for the longest time, couldn’t even get to visit the set.
“I didn’t [visit] and that was a huge bummer, because it just never worked out. And I was so frustrated because that’s the world I love.” Kay explains. Her father seemingly ignored her pleas for quite some time – “I was begging to just come hang out, but I never got to go.”
Eventually,...

Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers for “Yellowstone” Season 5.
One of the biggest surprises on this season of “Yellowstone” is the introduction of Clara, played by Lilli Kay. The trusted assistant to now-Governor John Dutton (Kevin Costner), who fired everyone but her once he took control, has a firm push and pull with her boss, giving him pro tips about government even when he doesn’t want to hear them. Kay, who also appeared in series such as “Your Honor” and “Chambers,” has fit in quickly on the show, as comfortable in the halls of the state capitol as she is on horseback.
In the wake of the show’s mid-season finale, Variety spoke with Kay about the joys of working alongside a Hollywood legend, how “Yellowstone” is a unique family affair and how she ended up in the series’ first LGBTQ kissing scene.

Sylvester Stallone’s rise is a story so celebrated, it’s come to shape how we imagine the Hollywood dream. A young, no-name actor writes a script, sells it to a studio, fights to play the title role, and — for his effort, his faith, and his talent — the movie turns him into a star. More than a star, really. “Rocky” and the ensuing sequels helped establish Stallone as a multi-hyphenate artist. For nearly 50 years, Stallone has been writing, acting, producing, and directing many of his own projects.
But after his latest dual role — leading and executive producing the Paramount+ series “Tulsa King” — Stallone may be staying behind the camera on his future creative endeavors. When asked if he’s writing any passion projects to direct and star in, Stallone said, “I might, but maybe not the acting.” He mentioned “Poe,” the Edgar Allen Poe biopic he’s long sought to realize,...
