A couple days into the ShipRocked cruise, high winds and ocean swells caused the Carnival Magic ship to slam into a pier in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, on Tuesday (February 6th). The incident has derailed the ship’s itinerary, forcing the cancellation of a planned stop at Grand Cayman.
The cruise, which set sail from Miami on Saturday (February 4th), features performances by I Prevail, Killswitch Engage, Beartooth, Highly Suspect, Badflower, and more. The ship wasn’t even supposed to dock at Jamaica until Wednesday, but headed toward land a day earlier due to the high winds and choppy waters at sea.

Sarah Jessica Parker became one of television’s biggest stars for her portrayal of Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City. But there were certain aspects of the character that she felt the public might’ve found off-putting.
Sarah Jessica Parker once opened up on Carrie Bradshaw’s flaws Sarah Jessica Parker | Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagic
Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw has been very good to Parker. Playing the role helped give her a financially secure career, and an iconic character that she’d always be attached to. But although Parker’s become synonymous with her fictional counterpart, at the same time she couldn’t have been anymore different.
In the show, Carrie Bradshaw was known for her excessive spending habits and promiscuous lifestyle. In an interview with The New Yorker Parker herself seemed to find some of her character’s behavior disgusting.

White House hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced on Monday a decision to switch parties in his presidential bid by exiting the Democratic party and running as a third party Independent. The move — revealed during a rally held outside the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia that featured remarks by his actress wife Cheryl Hines of Curb Your Enthusiasm fame — was quickly denounced by members of his own family.
“The decision of our brother Bobby to run as a third party candidate against Joe Biden is dangerous to our country. Bobby might share the same name as our father, but he does not share the same values, vision or judgment. Today’s announcement is deeply saddening for us. We denounce his candidacy and believe it to be perilous for our country,” reads a post shared on Instagram by his sister, Oscar nominated documentarian Rory Kennedy.

A new trend of creating music generated by artificial intelligence (AI) is not sitting well with Corey Taylor. The Slipknot singer has lambasted the practice, saying he “can’t stand it.”
AI-generated music has made headlines recently for mimicking popular artists, with fans even being fooled last month by what appeared to be a “new” song by Drake and The Weeknd. Other acts have also been “copied” using technology that mirrors their voices and even writes lyrics in the style of specific musicians.
Some artists, like Avenged Sevenfold singer M. Shadows, have hailed the technology, calling it an “incredible tool” for musicians, but not Taylor. The Slipknot frontman is clearly not a fan of AI-generated music, as he declared in a new interview with Kerrang! Radio.
“I don’t care for any of that crap, dude, to be honest,” Taylor said. “I don’t know what people are trying to prove.

The 2023 edition of Welcome to Rockville took place over four days from Thursday (May 18th) to Sunday (May 21st) in Daytona Beach, Florida. The massive rock fest was led by headliners Tool, Pantera, Slipknot, and Avenged Sevenfold, while also featuring dozens more notable acts.
The festival closed out on Sunday with Tool’s first show of the year. The performance was particularly notable in that singer Maynard James Keenan dressed in drag just days after Governor Ron DeSantis signed a new anti-drag bill into law. As for the music, the band played a brief 10-song set that included classics like “Forty Six & 2” and “Stinkfist” alongside newer tracks like “Fear Inoculum” and “Invincible.”
Elsewhere on Sunday, Incubus paused their set for a moment to help a distressed fan. The band performed with new touring bassist Nicole Row, filling in for Ben Kenney after he underwent surgery for a brain tumor. Other highlights included sets from Deftones,...

Tool singer Maynard James Keenan performed in drag at the Welcome to Rockville festival Sunday night (May 21st) in Daytona Beach, Florida, in essence challenging a recent bill signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis just a few days ago.
Heavy Consequence photographer Amy Harris captured photos of Tool’s headlining set (as seen in the gallery below) at the Florida fest, where the band played its first show of 2023. Keenan wore a blonde wig, exaggerated red lipstick, and prosthetic breasts during the performance.
This past Wednesday (May 17th), DeSantis signed a series of bills targeted against drag shows and transgender rights. One bill in particular prevents minors from attending drag shows. Since Welcome to Rockville is an all-ages festival, Keenan was, essentially, in violation of the new law.
As of now, Tool’s only other scheduled 2023 dates are at four more US festivals: Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio; Louder Than Life in Louisville,...

“The Wilds” will be taking off from the runway for Season 3: Prime Video has canceled the popular YA survival series after two seasons, TheWrap has confirmed.
Season 2, which expanded the show’s narrative with the addition of an all-male high school “control group,” premiered on the streamer May 6, delayed by two-and-a-half years as a result of the pandemic.
Despite having premiered a year earlier, the series has drawn comparisons with the Emmy-nominated “Yellowjackets” (which began development and shooting on its pilot around the same time in 2020) for its focus on a group of girls who get stranded following a plane crash. That’s where the two shows’ similarities end: The misfortune the high schoolers in “The Wilds” face stems from a larger conspiracy experiment led by Dawn of Eve founder Gretchen Klein (Rachel Griffiths), who posits that women can run a better society against all obstacles. It's game over for The Wilds.
Deadline reports that Prime Video has canceled the buzzy drama after two seasons.
The series burst onto the screen in 2020, landing a speedy renewal and rave reviews.
As the first YA series on the streaming service, it broke through in a way many shows that followed it did not.
However, the second season premiered in May, failing to reach its predecessor's success.
Season 2 of The Wilds continued to follow the harrowing ordeal of a group of teenage girls stranded on a deserted island, and they didn't end up there by accident - they've secretly been recruited into an elaborate social experiment.
The season ratchets up the drama by revealing that the girls aren't the only ones being studied... there's a new set of subjects, an island of teenage boys, who must also fight for survival under the watchful eye of the experiment's puppet master.

Exclusive: Prime Video’s The Wilds will not return for a third season. I hear the cast and crew of the YA survival drama were just told about the decision, which comes almost three months after Season 2 was released May 6.
The Wilds, one of the last shows developed and produced by the late Jamie Tarses, was an important series for Prime Video and Amazon Studios. It was part of the very first batch of YA pilots ordered by Amazon Studios soon after Jennifer Salke took the reins as part of an expansion in that arena. It was the first YA series to premiere on Prime Video and the first to go to a second season.
Prime Video remains committed to young-adult content with a slate that includes recent breakouts The Summer I Turned Pretty, The Boys Presents: Diabolical and Invincible as well as the upcoming series Shelter, based on the...

All throughout The Wilds season one, I kept thinking: "It can't get much worse than this, can it?" Time and time again I was proved wrong. The flashes between pre-island, island, and post-island life kept my head spinning. How did the girls get stranded? Who were they before the Dawn of Eve retreat? And how the hell did they "escape"? Since the season ended on such a cliffhanger, the only way I'll know for sure is if Amazon renews the series for a second season - and it sounds like the creators are hopeful.
Showrunner Amy Harris told Variety that although a second season hasn't been officially announced, she and her team have a "very strong blueprint" for how it would play out. Halfway through the season one creation process the writers got a concrete idea of the twist ending that would open the door to more episodes.

Updated with Vice statement: More than 75 current and former writers for HBO have signed a petition calling on Vice Media “to sign a strong union contract” with the WGA. The list includes several high-profile scribes including John Oliver, David Simon, Warren Leight, Tom Fontana, Eric Overmyer and Jesse Armstrong.
Read the petition and its signatories below.
Editorial staffers at Vice overwhelmingly ratified their first contract with WGA East in April 2016, a three-year deal that was retroactive to January 1 that year.

“Designated Survivor” had a tough second season ratings-wise, but the drama starring Kiefer Sutherland as the Commander-in-Chief was still seen as having a decent shot at winning a third term on ABC — until the ax fell on Friday.
The show, from Mark Gordon Co./Entertainment One and ABC Studios, had been a strong draw for eOne in international markets, an important factor these days in the survival of any scripted series. And Sutherland is the kind of name-brand star that broadcast networks like to have in their sizzle reels.
But “Designated Survivor” was handicapped almost from the start by a revolving door of showrunners. Entertainment One had lined up drama veteran Neal Baer to take the helm of season three, which would have made him the show’s fifth showrunner. Sutherland per his contract had veto power over showrunners and had approved Baer. Sources say Baer had been busy this...

The executive producers did their best to promise that the show won’t use the device gratuitously. “We’ve talked a lot about that in the writers room; actually the majority of us are women,” executive producer Amy B. Harris told reporters.
