The future of the X-Men franchise is totally up in the air at the moment, following the recent announcement that, after weeks of rumours, Disney has indeed bought out Fox.
In the immediate future, of course, nothing much will change. For instance, there are already three X-films from Fox coming in 2018: April’s The New Mutants, June’s Deadpool 2 and November’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix. After that, though, who knows what’s going to happen to the slate of movies – not to mention the franchise’s associated TV shows – that are in the works?
By this point, you’d be forgiven if you’ve lost track of all the potential future installments of the series, so we’ve put together a quick list of what’s coming down the pipeline, along with which ones might be in danger of getting the axe now that Disney’s in the picture.

Another night, another bar fight.
On Monday’s episode of Floribama Shore, it became clear that Aimee, Candace, Codi, Gus, Jeremiah, Kirk, Kortni and Nilsa can’t hit the town without throwing a punch. Another trend: most of the roommates still don’t like Jeremiah’s friend with benefits Kayla Jo, and he’s over it. Heading into the thick of the summer, the eight housemates continue to clash as they try to party their way through Florida’s Panama City Beach.

Too often we hear of film projects falling apart when a director/star walks away or, in the more common scenario, a studio pulls the plug altogether. From Fantastic Four 2 to Sony’s fabled Sinister Six crossover, you don’t have to search too far to locate a big-name project that failed to get off the ground. Thankfully, Gambit isn’t one of them.
Yes, the X-Men spinoff has encountered one setback after another since it was first announced, but despite all those frustrating false starts, Channing Tatum remains attached to headline as the ice-cool Remy LeBeau. That’s the real name of the titular hero, a card-playing Cajun who hails from New Orleans. Originally portrayed by Taylor Kitsch in the widely derided X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the torch has since been passed over to Tatum, whose long-time affinity for the character stretches all the way back to childhood.

With Hugh Jackman's last Wolverine movie Logan opening next week, Lrm Online had a chance to sit down with the movie's producers, SImon Kinberg and Hutch Parker, and ask about the future of Fox's mutant franchise.
One of the movies that was announced, dated and then has been playing the "director shuffle" for the past year or more is a movie about everyone's favorite Cajun mutant Gambit, with Channing Tatum committed to playing the popular X-Men character.
Because having Tatum sounds like such a great idea on paper where fans of the character are hoping it will happen soon, we asked Kinberg about when we might see that movie.
“Yeah, it is going to happen, and it’s just a question…," Kinberg began, pausing to choose his next words carefully.
"Channing is—in the best possible way—as committed and as rigorous about getting the character right as Ryan...

With the departure of Rupert Wyatt, the filming of the X-Men spinoff film Gambit seemed to be on the ropes. Well, it appears that Fox has found the captain for what I consider a sinking ship.
After many meetings, Doug Liman is in final negotiations to take on the card flinging Cajun, which was previously rumored.
Liman definitely has the pedigree to take on what is sure to be an action-packed movie. With movies like Edge of Tomorrow, The Bourne Identity, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith under his belt, Liman certainly has the eye for action. With the full support of Fox and Simon Kinberg, who is producing the film and is said to be heavily involved in the making of this film, what can go wrong?
Like I said earlier, this is a sinking ship. There are a few factors that point in this direction, Liman not being one of them.

Since helming Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Rupert Wyatt has parted ways with a number of studios over apparent creative differences. That includes Fox’a Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and The Equalizer at Sony, but despite that, it still came as a surprise when it was revealed that he would no longer be taking the helm of X-Men spinoff, Gambit.
Predictably, it seems the split ultimately came down to creative differences (and not the scheduling issues mentioned when it was revealed that he wouldn’t be directing).
While Fox were confident that Wyatt would deliver when it came to making a good Gambit movie – no easy task for any filmmaker, in all honesty, given what a random choice for his own movie the Cajun mutant is – it sounds like he simply began losing interest in the project when it became clear that he wasn’t...

Channing Tatum has two big films opening this summer. First up is the comedy sequel 22 Jump Street, which co-stars Jonah Hill. And later in July, he'll appear in the sci-fi space opera Jupiter Ascending with Mila Kunis. So it's only obvious that Tatum's face would be everywhere right about now (and it is). Tatum is the subject of GQ's June issue, and in it he talks about his obsession for Gambit, which he's set to play in the next X-Men film, and he also dropped a few details on the upcoming Magic Mike sequel.
Last week, it was confirmed that Tatum would be playing Gambit in 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse and his own spinoff film. The news first broke when producer Lauren Shuler Donner revealed that Tatum would be the one playing the role during a press junket for the latest X-Men movie. But it seems that Tatum was always destined to play Gambit.

High-powered "X-Men" producer Lauren Shuler Donner has confirmed that Channing Tatum will indeed be taking on the role of Gambit... eventually. She was walking the blue carpet at the X-Men X-Perience Global Tour when she confirmed to Total Film that Channing Tatum is confirmed to play Gambit.
In case you're unfamiliar with the X-Man character, Gambit (aka Remy LeBeau) was a slick street thief in New Orleans who discovered his mutant powers when he was a teen. Guess puberty was just full of surprises!
Shuler Donner said, "He's a rogue, Channing. He's a rascal, just like Remy LeBeau, and he can handle the action, we all know that. And he's got a really good heart, because I know him personally. I did a movie with him, so I think he'll be great. He'll be great for Gambit." (Tatum appeared in 2006's "She's the Man" with Amanda Bynes, which counts Shuler Donner among its producers.

An X-Men: Days of Future Past producer has said that she wants Channing Tatum for a solo Gambit film.
Lauren Shuler Donner has revealed that the 21 Jump Street actor is on board to play the Cajun mutant.
"I'm dying to do a Gambit movie with Channing Tatum," she told Empire.
"That doesn't have to be a great big movie. It's a thief in New Orleans, it's a whole different story.
"He's on board, and I have to get the studio on board. How can anyone resist Channing? He's such a sweetheart."
Tatum has previous indicated that he would be interested in playing the character.
Taylor Kitsch cameoed as Gambit in the poorly received 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Tatum will next be seen in 22 Jump Street, Jupiter Ascending and Foxcatcher.
X-Men: Days of Future Past will arrive in UK cinemas on May 22 and in the Us on May 23.

Lauren Shuler Donner and Bryan Singer steer the X-Men Universe even when half of them isn’t directing. They are the organizers, managers, grand movers and – above all – producers. So, when Shuler Donner says something, it’s basically coming from the source.
Now, with Singer pimping the imminent Days of Future Past while priming the upcoming Apocalypse, the other half of the Fox-sanctioned producing team is looking to populate some smaller films in the X/Ff Fox Universe.

Following last week's relative snoozer, this week's True Blood once again had chicken-fried batsh*t on the menu, with all sorts of minor revelations and developments adding up to one complicated humdinger of an episode.
Strap on your bib and let's dig in!
We start off with a shot from the Channel 5 Vampcam - new vamp (and newly-exfoliated) Tara (Rutina Wesley) is wandering around in the woods gazing at the sky and looking at squirrels. Ah - I get it - becoming a vampire is just like that time I ate mushrooms and went to the planetarium. Now it all makes sense! She runs from Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) and ends up almost eating a girl with a flat tire - but she sees her own vampy reflection in the windshield, apologizes, and scoots off. She's pretty fast for someone who's so hungry, isn't she? She must have grabbed a Snickers.

How do you like your comedies? Gross-out? Witty? Physical? Well however you like them, I hope you like 'em cheaply produced, because that's how you're going to get them for the foreseeable future, according to a report in The Los Angeles Times. Ben Fritz writes that several factors -- most notably the decline in DVD sales and comedies' relative unpopularity overseas -- have forced Hollywood to drastically scale back on their budgets. The days of $50 million dollar plus budgets for comedies may be coming to an end, replaced by more films like "Bad Teacher," which was made, according to the Times, for just $19 million, including $1 million for star Cameron Diaz (as opposed to her $8 million fee for last year's "Knight and Day").
My first reaction is "Well, duh." Why in the world do you need $50 million to make a comedy anyway? You don't. Comedy is one of those rare cinematic...

Ah, Hanukah! Festival of Lights! A time for Jews everywhere to get together in a spirit of peace, give gifts and sing songs. It’s also a time for gentiles everywhere to ask questions like “So… what’s the deal with Hanukah?” and “How do you spell Chanukah?” and “Why does it keep moving around the calendar like a celebratory hobo?”

These are good questions; deep questions. And who better to ask than Hollywood’s Jewish stars! But who’s Jewish? It’s no shock that certain actors are from the tribe (shalom, Zach Braff!), but Zac Efron?

Let’s take a look…

Kat Dennings

Born Katherine Litwack, her first major role was on HBO’s “Sex and the City” in 2000 where she played a 13-year-old who hires Samantha to do the publicity for her Bat Mitzvah. Snakes on a plane...sharks on a lake. I see how this works. What I didn't see was David Ellis' reptile creature feature because number one, I don't like snakes and number two, I don't like snakes. But at least the flying snakes had Samuel L. Jackson to help get people on board. Even the barely watchable Cellular had Kim Basinger kicking some ass to elevate it past Lifetime fare. But for his next film, either Ellis has completely given up trying to get a recognizable name, or he is simply unable - so I guess Relativity (who just picked up distribution rights) is banking on 3D and the inherent allure of sharks.

The Princess And The Frog Studio: Disney Rated: G Starring: Anika Noni Rose, Keith David, John Goodman, Jenifer Lewis and Ritchie Montgomery Directed by: Ron Clements and Rob Edwards What it’s about: Stick with this, people, because the story is surprisingly complicated. Tiana is a poor black girl in Depression-era New Orleans. She wants to open her own restaurant with her dead dad’s recipes but never has the money for the down payment. When a rich friend pays her some green to cater a welcome dinner for a visiting prince, she jumps at the chance. Then a frog that talks like a prince jumps into her bedroom. She kisses it and wham-o! She becomes a frog. Together, her and the frog prince must find some help to break the voodoo curse that has put them in this predicament. What I liked: After a string of disappointments in the earlier part of this decade, the...
