HBO Films announced on Thursday that it has acquired the worldwide rights to director-writer Daniel Sawka’s feature film debut “Icebox.”
The film stars Anthony Gonzalez (“Coco”) as Oscar, a 12-year-old Honduran boy who is forced to flee his home and seek asylum in the U.S., only to find himself trapped in the U.S. immigration system.
As Oscar attempts to reach his uncle in Arizona, he is apprehended by Border Patrol and placed in “the icebox,” a detention facility where he joins scores of other migrant children being held without their families. Faced with a seemingly impenetrable immigration system, Oscar struggles to navigate a path to freedom, with a journalist and his uncle, himself a recent immigrant, as his only lifelines.

2010 Marks horror music group Midnight Syndicate's 13th anniversary, and among the other festivities they have planned (i.e., releasing The Dead Matter movie, a soundtrack CD, and their brand new website), band members Edward Douglas and Gavin Goszka are filming their very first music video for the song "Dark Legacy".
Ed Douglas recently dropped a line to let us know he's posted some pictures from the shoot on the Midnight Syndicate Facebook page, and he also provided an exclusive photo for Dread Central's readers, which you'll see below.
He told us, "We'll release this thing in early April after our debut in St. Louis, and I think folks are going to dig it! [Director] Dave [Greathouse] is Really good; he's come up with some cool -- and creepy -- stuff! It's kind of wild this was the first time Gavin and I have taken the stage together as Midnight Syndicate in our entire 13 years.

The Monsters of Rock panel hosted by Fango's Scott Licina and James Zahn featured members of Fashion Bomb and Mushroomhead, as well as David Greathouse, who directed two recent videos for the band, in addition to designing their costumes, makeup, and props. This small army took the stage to answer questions.
Licina kicked it off with an absolutely fantastic music video from Mushroomhead (see it below) and then proceeded to hype up the crowd for that nights show. He didn’t have to do much. This was a group of people ready to rock and ready to ask lots of questions. When asked about the experience of working on Robert Kurtzman's The Rage, the members of Mh were enthusiastic in the extreme. When asked about their new, as-of-yet-untitled album, they took that enthusiasm and ran with it. But even in the midst of their joking around, the band refused to give away anything.
