Exclusive: Newly formed production company Name Lending Films has set its inaugural project, Billion Dollar Mirage, with secured funding from aX Films and other private equity. The feature adaptation is based on the yet-to-be-released autobiography, Never Do Business With Princes or Kings, by American banker Glenn Stewart. Set in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, the film centers on one of the largest financial scandals in history.
T.Y. Kim is attached to pen the screenplay, which will be produced by Jason Wulfsohn, Johnny Martin, and aX Films.
Stewart’s story made headlines. The Oxford-educated young American moved to Saudi Arabia and landed a job with a prominent Saudi family. There Stewart worked with them to create a vast banking empire, which successfully cash-flowed over $330 billion dollars from more than 100 banks worldwide. As the global credit meltdown destabilized the world economy, billions of dollars of debt were quickly exposed as fraudulent...

Out of the two dueling White House takeover pics that vied for box office dominance in 2013, it’s safe to say that Olympus Has Fallen emerged victorious against White House Down (though there are some, myself included, who feel that the latter film was far superior). While White House Down disappointed at the box office, Olympus Has Fallen made more on a smaller budget and certainly did well enough to warrant a sequel, which kicked off production in London today.
Rather obviously titled London Has Fallen, the follow-up reunites stars Aaron Eckhart, Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett and Melissa Leo. This time around, Secret Service agent Mike Banning (Butler) and President of the United States Benjamin Asher (Eckhart) find themselves battling a terrorist threat in London.
Check out the official press release, which includes an updated synopsis for the pic. Then let us know, will you be lining up...

It's a good day for funny people, especially if your name is Tina Fey or Seth MacFarlane.
Fey's series, 30 Rock, was handed 22 Emmy nominations this morning, which stands as a record for a comedy series. She and Alec Baldwin were also nominated for acting awards. Plus, for the first time some of the other actors on NBC's laffer were recognized. Jane Krakowski, Jack McBrayer and Tracy Morgan all picked up supporting nominations.
MacFarlane's Family Guy was also nominated for best comedy series, the first time an animated show has cracked that category since The Flintstones in 1961. Two years ago MacFarlane decided to pull his show from contention in the animated series category to have it considered for best comedy.
Mad Men, the drama about the advertising world in the sixties, picked up 16 nominations in the drama categories, including a best actor nod for Jon Hamm. Hamm is also nominated as...

Instead of specific films, TV shows, or books, the April 26-May 2, 2009, edition of the Weekly Wrap-Up focuses on the men and women behind them. The unsung heroes who give us their blood, sweat, and tears to ensure we have a good time while watching the screen or reading the page. To them, this Woman says, "Thanks for your efforts! And keep 'em coming!"
First up, director Jaume Collet-Serra, who won me over with his declaration of passion for exploring the dark side of human nature. If his goals for his newest project, Orphan, pan out as he explains them, then it could turn out to be one of the year's best, or at least most disturbing.
Next is Jt Petty, who both wrote and directed the kickass Western/horror hybrid The Burrowers. I'm not sure the review we have here on the site does it justice. If you have a...
