Colorist Skip Kimball, whose 30-year career has encompassed such high-profile projects as “Avatar,” has joined post-production shop Efilm following six years as senior colorist at Technicolor.
Kimball recently completed work on seasons 1 and 2 of the Duffer Brothers’ “Stranger Things” (pictured) on Netflix for executive producer Shawn Levy and is currently on “Deadpool 2” for Twentieth Century Fox and director David Leitch.
Other recent feature credits include “Downsizing” and “Nebraska” for Alexander Payne, “Logan” for James Mangold, and the “Terminator 2” re-master for James Cameron.
“We are incredibly proud to have Skip on the team,” said William Sherak, president of Deluxe Post Production. “He is an immensely talented artist that top directors, DPs and producers have come to rely on for his expertise.”
Kimball credits Sherak with drawing him to Efilm. The two previously worked together on the re-issue of “Titanic” in 3D, which Stereo D converted for Cameron. “William shared...

I think it's apparent at this point that aliens are the new zombies. By that I mean we are to be inundated with movies about alien invasions to the point we will all be sick of the genre within 2-3 years. Add the indie sci-fi horror The Awakened to the pile of evil extraterrestrial flicks in the pipeline.
I probably shouldn't say "in the pipeline" considering this alien terror flick from co-writer/directors Adrian DeLude and Eric Nichols and starring Robert Picardo of "Star Trek: Voyager" fame reportedly had its world premiere at La's Shriekfest this past October.
A retired farmer living on the outskirts of a small mountain community pulls down an old tree unearthing something large and metallic. The first ray of sunlight awakens the occupants of this UFO, buried for over 200 years. As you can imagine, the awakened aliens are none too pleased.
The ever vigilant Avery...

The Awakened a High Voltage production was given a brief intro' on this site in early February with post-production at that time ongoing. The latest details on the film include a new trailer, a new homepage, and a change in status as the film is currently seeking distribution.
The Awakened involves encounters between some local urban folk and creatures from another world. Mysteriously, these creatures are buried in the soil of a small farm. Things explode when these darkly featured monsters are disturbed after a 200 year slumber. These awakened animals of the night are not just cranky, but bloodthirsty! Guess who receives their wrath?
Farmers and their kin will be running for the hills as the local sheriff (Richard Gross) hopes to intervene. Some possible help for the locals might come from a covert government agent (Robert Picardo), or will he just complicate things further? Viewers will have to follow...
