Because it's NBC's turn to air the Primetime Emmy Awards this year, and because the Peacock would understandably rather air its lucrative Sunday night NFL package in September, the ceremony will take place in late August again. And as an added wrinkle, this year's ceremony will actually happen on a Monday, August 25 at 8 p.m., with Seth Meyers hosting. Between now and then, Dan and I will be making our picks for both who should and will win many of the major categories — if you're wagering, keep in mind that Dan tends to be much better at predicting the winners than I am, but also that he was just as flummoxed as I by last year's winners like Jeff Daniels, Merritt Wever and Bobby Cannavale — starting with a pair of categories that have taken on new shape and importance this year. After TV-movies and miniseries were lumped together into one...

Jim Carrey is getting some solid comedy back up for his new heist film. The formerly-titled "Loomis Fargo" recently gained Owen Wilson as one of its male leads.
Based on a true story, the movie tells the tale of a disgruntled bank employee who teams up with his work crush and a group of accomplices to rob the business they work for. They manage to steal $20 million, meaning their challenge isn't to pull off the heist, but rather to succeed in it.
"Loomis Fargo" is being produced by Relativity Media and directed by "Napoleon Dynamite's" Jared Hess. The screenplay has gone through various incarnations after originally being penned by Emily Spivey, later being written by Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer and later by Danny McBride and Jody Hill.
This isn't the only exciting comedy Carrey has lined up. He and Jeff Daniels are reteaming for "Dumb and Dumber To.

If the previous two trailers for Aaron Sorkin’s much anticipated return to television haven’t ensnared you then why not take this new look at his forthcoming HBO series a spin?
It’s more of the same behind the scenes shenanigans of a cable news show on the brink of becoming a televised anachronism and this particular tease offers us a little of the dynamic between disgruntled anchor Will McAvoy (given body and voice by Jeffrey Daniels) and his new producer. It’s always good to see Emily Mortimer on screen and to walk (and talk) the walk with Sorkin’s dialogue is a gift which instantly raises a performance.
The show premiers on HBO on the 24th of June, which is too long frankly.
Here’s the video, get clicking and bathe in the warming balm on some incoming Sorkin,

From Zooey Deschanel and Christina Ricci to Dustin Hoffman, Ashton Kutcher and Jeff Daniels, TV has taken in an unusual number of established movie stars this year. Now, the small screen will be getting one of the big screen's most dynamic, decorated behind-the-camera teams, too.
Joel and Ethan Coen, the Oscar-winning brothers behind "No Country For Old Men," "Fargo," "True Grit" and "A Serious Man," are bringing their wit and strange poignancy to television, with a new hourlong, single camera comedy called "HarveKarbo." Deadline reports that it will focus on a seedy La private investigator who works in the gross underbelly of celebrity.
The pair won three Oscars for "No Country," taking home best picture, best original screenplay and best directing. They join Martin Scorcese and Steven Spielberg amongst the major auteurs who have branched out into television; Scorsese with "Boardwalk Empire," for which he won an Emmy, and Spielberg with "Terra Nova.
