Spoiler Alert! This story reveals plot point from the March 26 series premiere of Ride on Hallmark.
It takes place on a bucolic but cash-strapped ranch that’s operated by a widowed parent who loses a beloved family member in the premiere episode — all while everyone looks straight-up sexy in their Wranglers and cowboy boots.
But that’s where the similarities to Yellowstone end for Hallmark’s Ride, insists Sherri Cooper-Landsman, who showruns the new drama about a rodeo dynasty with Rebecca Boss and Chris Masi (Our Kind of People).
“For me, it was just this beautiful ranch setting with a family going through stuff that a family goes through,” Cooper-Landsman tells Deadline of Ride. “And to be honest, I hadn’t even watched Yellowstone, so I did not even think about that. It just was this beautiful setting and a worlds that Becky [Rebecca] really knew so well.

Comic-Con regulars know Thursday is usually the calm before the epic storm of Friday and Saturday. And without "Twilight" on the agenda, this year's first full day of the Con looks even less packed than usual.
Except, of course, for the 20th Anniversary of "The X-Files" which should fill Ballroom 20 past its breaking point and likely have hardcore fans lining up early just to guarantee a seat.
On the movie side, panels for "Divergent" and "Ender's Game" will try to lure the "Twilight" crowd (and hopefully appeal to some non-"Twilight" loving sci-fi fans as well). While anticipated TV panels also include fan favorites "Psych," "Dexter," "Teen Wolf," "Wilfred" and "Beauty and the Beast" and newcomers "Hannibal," "The Blacklist," "Star-Crossed" and "Intelligence" (with "Lost" star Josh Holloway).
Plus, the first ever Con panel for the BBC's awesome "Sherlock" (which airs stateside on PBS). Sadly, without stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman...

Warning: The following contains major spoilers from this week’s episode of Beauty and the Beast.
Matters of love… and death… loomed large this week on The CW’s Beauty and the Beast. Starting with the sadder latter, when Darius got into a bit of a pickle with some thugs he owed money to, Vincent beasted out and leaped into action, all in the name of saving Catherine’s sister Heather from being whacked as a witness to the illegal dealings. Alas, in the course of doing so, Vincent got Darius killed — the first innocent to die by his hands.

Watch your back, Beauty, the Beast has got an ex. If you think Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan, stars of the CW’s Beauty and the Beast, make a sensual pair, then what will you make of it when two becomes three? Faster than you can say “love triangle”, in comes actress Bridget Regan as Vincent’s long lost fiance.
We shared the news when Regan, formerly of Legend of the Seeker, was cast as a recurring character on Beauty and the Beast. She will play Alex, who was engaged to Vincent once upon a time. If you think the two will only reunite briefly, or not at all, think again. We have photographic evidence to the contrary. When these two former lovers collide, things will get steamy. Add to that the fact that Regan is not a guest star, but a recurring cast member, and the plot thickens.

We’ve a got a double dose of casting news for fans of the CW’s freshman series, Beauty and the Beast. Before I get to the big reveal, I’d like to tease these characters for you. The first, and definitely more important, character will be a huge thorn in the sides of the series’ two leads, Vincent and Catherine, but he’s not at all a bad guy; he’s just trying to do his job and further his career. The second character is more of a pain for Catherine, as he will get inside her head… sort of. Both characters have terrific actors to bring them to life. I think it’s about time you met them.
TVLine reported Sendhil Ramamurthy, of Heroes and Covert Affairs fame, would recur in the show’s first season as Gabe Lowen, a power-hungry Ada really looking to crack down on crime.

When a show like "Beauty and the Beast" ends the first half of its fall season with not one but several cliffhangers, we can't just leave it at that. Fortunately, Sherri Cooper, one of the shows executive producers, shared a little bit about what's to come on "Beauty" in 2013.
Why did you choose to end "Bridesmaid Up!" with so many cliffhangers?
Sherri Cooper: It feels like that is a perfect way to end this fairytale episode. You think she's just going in the car and chasing down her guy... But of course it's "Beauty and the Beast." There's always danger at every turn. And she didn't get to say what she wanted to say to him.
It was a two-parter when we wrote this one and the next one. And of course, we're keeping up the curiosity.
Is anyone going to start to figure out anything about what's going...
