Three and a half years ago, Sony’s Columbia Pictures announced that they were developing a reboot / reimagining of the 1997 “nature run amok” thriller Anaconda (watch it Here), with the intention of “taking what was a simple and relatively cheap programmer with a B-movie concept and event-izing it in scope and budget.” Tom Gormican is on board to write (and possibly direct) the film as his follow-up to the well-received action comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, and we’ve heard that this new take on the concept of Anaconda might be taking a meta approach, with “actors playing loose fictional versions of themselves who go off to make an Anaconda movie and all hell breaks loose.” There was a rumor that Pedro Pascal and Paul Rudd had been offered roles in the film… But while we wait to see how that project is going to pan out, Sony Pictures...

Early last year, we heard that Tom Gormican would be writing (and possibly directing) the film as his follow-up to the well-received action comedy The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, which starred Nicolas Cage and Pedro Pascal. Now industry scooper Jeff Sneider of The Hot Mic video podcast has dropped the rumor that this new take on the concept of Anaconda might be taking a meta approach.

They’re obviously sticking with the idea of going big with this one, because reliable “inside scoop” provider Daniel Richtman has heard that the lead roles have been offered to Paul Rudd and Pedro Pascal!
We have to take this as a Rumor for right now, since there hasn’t been any sort of official confirmation regarding this news, but it does make sense. Paul Rudd stars in Sony’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife and its upcoming sequel, so of course they’d want to keep working with him on their event-sized Anaconda movie. And a few months ago, we...

Charli Xcx and Rina Sawayama are now united by a blood pact. And we’re here for it. On Friday, the pop princess pair released the video for their collab “Beg for You,” which follows the women in a Power Rangers fight scene-esque backdrop as they lead some of their cult followers to die.
All sporting cherry color-coordinated outfits, Charli and Sawayama lead a group of women to an abandoned desert area before engaging in a blood pact ceremony. “Oh, don’t you leave me this way,” pleads Charli in the chorus.

Showtime revealed the full cast list for its upcoming "Twin Peaks" revival, and it's nothing short of insane -- and insanely long.
The ensemble includes a whopping 217 actors -- yes, you read that right -- and amid all the returning faces, there are also a bunch of surprising, big-name newbies along for the ride this time around. (We've embedded the entire list at the end of this post.)
Original cast members that will be back include many previously-announced people, and the ensemble will feature the likes of Kyle MacLachlan, Sherilyn Fenn, Madchen Amick, Sheryl Lee, Dana Ashbrook, David Duchovny, Miguel Ferrer, Grace Zabriskie, Peggy Lipton, Ray Wise, Wendy Robie, Russ Tamblyn, and Catherine E. Coulson, among many others.
As for the newcomers, some of the bold names that stand out include Monica Bellucci, Jim Belushi, Michael Cera, Laura Dern, Jay R. Ferguson (a.k.a. Stan from "Mad Men"), Ernie Hudson ("Ghostbusters"), Ashley Judd,...

The new "Twin Peaks" isn't slated to debut on Showtime until 2017, but a flurry of speculation about it happened last week with a tweet from Go For Locations indicating that filming had wrapped on the "first two seasons" of the series.
The episode count for the David Lynch-directed series was always in question, but that tweet suggested we'd be getting even more episodes than originally planned. Said tweet has since been deleted, so we'll have to wait to see how that pans out.
in the meantime in more official news, Showtime, Lynch and Mark Frost has released the official cast list for the new series with a whopping 217 names across the various episodes - a list that includes some real surprise big name inclusions such as Monica Bellucci, Michael Cera, Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Eddie Vedder, Ashley Judd, Ernie Hudson, Jim Belushi, Richard Chamberlain, Laura Dern,...

"This river can kill you in a thousand ways."
If you're like most people, than the sight of even a small, harmless garter snake gives you the willies. Now, just imagine coming face-to-fangs with a monster-size snake capable of swallowing you whole. That's what happens to a documentary filmmaker and her crew in tonight's feature presentation, Anaconda.
While being ferried down the Amazon River in search of the lost Shirishama tribe, director Terri Flores (Jennifer Lopez) and her documentary film crew — cameraman (Ice Cube), sound engineer (Owen Wilson), production manager (Kari Wuhrer), anthropologist (Eric Stoltz) — rescue a stranded snake hunter (Jon Voight) intent on capturing a record-sized Green Anaconda. After the captain (Vincent Castellanos) is incapacitated by a venomous wasp, the snake hunter assumes control of the boat and forces the crew to help him in his hunt. But, which is more deadly: the hunter or his prey?
