This giant (301 large, text-crammed pages) diary of New York makeup artist Norman Bryn is only available for purchase through www.makeupandmisery.com, which may be why it has yet to incur the wrath of the ABC "Mouse House" he so brazenly bashes. For five years at All My Children, with stops at One Life To Live and (an admittedly happier experience at) Guiding Light along the way, Bryn worked with most of the most well known, memorable stars of daytime's dazzling days...and he's not afraid to express his feelings about them for better or worse.

• Filmmaker Richard Griffin of Scorpio Film Releasing let us know that he’s self-distributing his latest feature Beyond The Dunwich Horror through the Scorpio site linked above.
Inspired by the H.P. Lovecraft tale, Dunwich Horror follows a young man named Kenny (Michael Reed) as he arrives in the titular town to find out why his brother Andrew has been committed to a mental institution, and also flashes back to reveal how Andrew (Jason McCormick) became enmeshed in occult phenomena thanks to sexy local girl Nikki (Sarah Nicklin). Citing professional and personal concerns (including the ill health of his father), Norman Bryn announced his resignation as president of Local 798, the East Coast Make-up Artist and Hairstylist Union. The announcement was made public May 6. Bryn, who had previously served as the union's vice president, had been acting as president since the death of former president Kelly Gleason Nov. 22, 2007. Union elections will be held June 8. The union office is located at 152 West 24th St. in New York.
