Whilst the precinct prepares a retirement party for Ivo, who never wanted to be pensioned off, the commissioner scolds Tom for his affair with Kathy, but her husband Lucas assures him that poses no professional problem. Attorney and gambler Maarten Timmermans (30) is found shot through the heart outside the Antwerp 'palace of justice' (grand courthouse). Only two hours later manager Geert Dehondt (29) is shot with the same gun on the steps of his Meir (shopping square) bank branch, after failing to recognize the killer, a bitter Antwerp law school year friend. Ivo is rewarded with permission to join the field investigation after finding both victims were partners in a law firm and made notary Michel Lafleur loose his divorce and visiting rights. During his interrogation only another hour later a third is shot, publican Bram who survives and studied law there too, albeit without graduating, as Ivo finds out, just like the shooter Bram remembers by nickname Pisser ('peewee') and first name Dieter, so college files lead the team to bachelor Janssens. Ivo sees a preciser link: a mixed frat, which hazed Dieter nastily and has another most interesting alumnus, now in acute danger, as people in the same place.

The very evening Antwerp prostitute Marishka breaks from her pimp, she's run over by a car and robbed. Autopsy shows she was killed by a prior knock on the head. Ivo, who died on field assignment for which the chief wants the commissioner severely sanctioned, gets a grand funeral. Snitch Ludo tells the alibi he was supposed to provide for Boris Joeratsjev, Marishka's Croat pimp and his bar's investor, is fake. Next Daisy, who told the police about Juracev's Eastern European 'girls supply', is beaten in hospital. At her accusation Tom arrests the pimp, who denies. While he's in jail, Marishka's home is burglarized, and again during the arrest of Antwerp contractor Van Reusel, one of the 'clients' she blackmailed. A list which includes attorney and new party president Guido De Laet, another of Fien's dad Jean-Yves's political friends and a former thesis mentor of her, whose wife Gabrielle found his love letters to the prostitute. Meanwhile Mike and Jimmy investigate a series of exploding garbage bags.

A possibly fake motorbike pizza deliverer beats Herman De Bruin cripple with an iron bar. Same MO fails to hurt nightclub bouncer Berre Verdonck. Openly promiscuous gay Sylvain Bosteels however is beaten to death. He extorted many small businesses by raising rent on the buildings he owned and accepted 'payment in kind' by hunky debtors, or in ugly pizzeria-owner Willy Peeters's case suggested his sexy son and deliverer Kevin. Tom meanwhile worries about his ma's possibly reviving affair with limping first-ever lover Marcel, and finds an apparent link.

Chassidic diamond trader Ariel Reuben is killed, shot in the head and chest. He was last seen by his assistant Benjamin Beer, who claims their Biblical faith keeps him calm, but he has no alibi. The chief declares that the case is top priority and insists Ivo must retire soon. He wants the case passed 'discretely' to the federal detectives - Tom gets a single day respite from his commissioner. Ariel's brother Simon, a cutter in the major firm of Kiril Simeon, asks for the widow's hand. Such 'Levitic' marriage is a traditional way to keep assets in the family. Lucas finds Reuben was shot with his own gun, but the second bullet ricocheted after his death into an internal wound. Tom illegally handcuffs and searches Beer, only to learn he's a federal undercover agent working on the illegal diamond trade under Wim Jacobs. Wim left the Antwerp PD after false charges. Tom catches Simon stealing diamonds from Ariel's safe. Ludo hands Tom another suspect's motive, but he's suspended. Meanwhile Jimmy and Mike investigate the disappearance of Helga, Stef's prize pigeon; he suspects the unsympathetic neighbors, his 'negelected' wife seduces Mike.

Guy checks on his disloyal girlfriend, Marc's brother Dirk, their mother and presumed gang mates, but several are killed shortly after. Back from his LA forensic training, Lucas Neefs learns Kathy cheated on him with Guy and keeps his boys from her, while the atmosphere at the precinct is grimly tainted. Mike is injured physically and Jimmy verbally while they investigate churchyard vandalism, but also save OD victim Davy Huybrechts.

Sandrine Pauwels Pauwel throws out her husband Bert Nijs's things and him, then claims 40 year-old surgery professor Han Wuyts's car, which hits Bert on the road right there, meant to kill, although he got fatally injured himself. His widow, nurse Margot, denies he knew Bert and knows no enemies, nor did Han care for art, although his trunk contains a valuable painting by Lievens. His death cleared the way for his assistant Johan Beunis to be promoted and his anesthetist Vincent De Belder to run for rector (university chancellor). Autopsy shows his ribs were previously crushed, probably in an earlier crash - and the driver wasn't Han, although Margot identified him. More lies remain to be found out while Beunis goes missing.

While Peter Bruylands jogs in the Antwerp city park with his wife Barbara Van Dijck, his eyes are suddenly stabbed out by a masked assailant, who looses epilepsy pills while fleeing, apparently having failed to slit Peter's throat. While Jimmy and Mike stand guard at blinded Peter's hospital room, press photographer Ben Rijpens is allowed an interview. He tells how his son Jasper first lost the ability and later died after an accident and suddenly pierces Peter's ears, then escapes. Miranda Kuipers points out her daughter, photographer Anna, also has eyes and ears cut by a park assailant, albeit eight years ago. Linking the cases allows identifying the fiend. He's easily arrested, but fakes a seizure to escape and resume his insanely cruel 'revenge'.

Hanging around conspiring criminals in a nightclub, sneaky snitch Ruige Ronny learns about a heist on an armed money transport, but while Tom is in the shower his hot date turns off his cellphone. Commissioner Wim Jacobs soon regrets having ignored Ronny's call when a violent attack on the road is reported to have caused spectacular damage. Next day, after the chief insists progress must be made in the hunt for Interpol-signaled, never trialled terrorist Sadun Hamudi, it takes all Dani's female charms and born bastard Tom's meanest persuasion by shameless threats to make Ronny tell them he once gathered some info for Hamudi, and his present whereabouts: a log cabin in the Ardennes. The raid is a success, yet instead of credit for rounding up the whole gang zone chief Treunen gets sneered at for being late at the new Antwerp PD chief of police's inauguration in city hall. The fatal car accident of businessman Koen Beeckman's wife and veto-holding only co-shareholder Aline is found to be a murder cover-up, apparently she had a secret love-nest in the Jewish quarter...

In Antwerp's grand Central Station, a baby is found, abandoned in a cardboard box. The poor quality-security camera recording shows only the time of abandon. Elise Huybrechts (15) is reported missing, the mother was partying all the previous evening and night; the problem seems rooted at home. Jimmy considers his partner Mike, always late on the job, useless, yet starts a petition against his suspension (ordered by the police chief). The chief also wants the early retirement of widowed desk officer Ivo, who has trouble handling modern equipment. However, Ivo thinks of checking an outside camera, allowing to identify a Polish woman who brought the box in and left without it, but claims she handed it over anonymously. For help to get the drug squad off his back so he can open his bar, snitch Ludo brings the trail to an illegal adoption trail. Tom suspects Fien is intimate with Lucas.
