Jon Stewart walked away from The Daily Show in 2015 because he felt “burnt” but he now feels “reinvigorated” on his return.
Stewart hosts The Daily Show on Mondays, with the show’s news team including Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta, Jordan Klepper and Desi Lydic hosting the other nights. Stewart and The Daily Show correspondents were speaking at an FYC event as the Comedy Central series attempts to repeat its Emmy win last year.
“I walked away 9 years ago because I was burnt. But now I don’t feel that way. I feel reinvigorated; I’m with people that are unbelievably talented and dedicated, and what they talked about, in that morning meeting – people ask if you missed having a platform this and that – I didn’t miss anything but walking into the room and having those smart, funny people.”

It’s a late April afternoon when Shōgun breakout star Anna Sawai, who stars as the fierce Lady Toda Mariko in the gorgeously wrought, sharply modernized adaptation of James Clavell’s 1975 bestseller, spots castmate Tadanobu Asano and producer-star Hiroyuki Sanada across a studio floor. Her face lights up. It hasn’t even been a week since FX’s runaway hit historical drama ended its debut season on a breathtaking note of bittersweet catharsis, having enthralled viewers over 10 episodes with its sweeping saga of survival and sacrifice in 17th Century Japan. But as the rising actress reunites with her Shōgun co-stars, a new charge of electricity crackles in the air.
Mariko-sama, Lord Yoshii Toranaga, and the impish schemer Kashigi Yabushige, together again in another life. The trio has traveled from far-flung cities to mark a groundbreaking moment in which Shōgun is setting sail for a new destination: the Emmys.

Less than a month after she released her new album Hit Me Hard and Soft, Billie Eilish took the stage on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Monday night and delivered her first live performance of “The Greatest.”
Dressed in a striped button-down collared shirt decorated with a different-patterned striped tie, Eilish launched into the song while sitting on a stool in the dark, moodily-lit room. “I’m trying my best/To keep you satisfied/Let you get your rest/While I stayed up all night,” she softly crooned.

Billie Eilish returned to the Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday night to perform “The Greatest,” a standout cut from her recent album Hit Me Hard and Soft.
Eilish began the performance with just her brother Finneas backing her on guitar, running through the first verse and chorus in a stirring, intimate fashion. Like the studio version, however, Eilish eventually built to an epic full-band climax, wailing over pounding drums, silky strings, and Finneas’ guitar. Watch the performance of “The Greatest” below.

Stephen King is such a prolific author that you could compile an entire aesthetically pleasing library in your study just from his books and struggle to find a place to fit them all. Despite having written dozens of novels and well over a hundred short stories and novellas, the King of Horror doesn’t think twice when asked about his own favorite Stephen King works.
Here’s the celebrated author’s Top 5.
5. Survivor Type (1982)
The earliest work on the author’s personal list, Survivor Type is a psychological horror short story that follows a physician stranded on a small island in the middle of nowhere. He used to smuggle heroin, and now it’s the only thing he has: no food or water, just drugs. To survive, the man resorts to self-cannibalism, eating his own flesh by cutting pieces from himself.

There's less than a month to go until Despicable Me 4 arrives in theaters, and Illumination has released a new promo which takes a shot of Black Adam star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Warner Bros.' tax write-offs, and the MCU.
The pro wrestler and actor vowed to change the "hierarchy of power" in the DC Extended Universe with the 2022 movie, only for it to flop at the box office and bomb with critics and fans alike. From there, Johnson's plans to take over the franchise failed and he was promptly ousted when James Gunn and Peter Safran took charge of DC Studios.
As for the 100-year slate of "Mega Minions" movies, it's a tongue-in-cheek dig at Marvel Studios and its habit of revealing slates of movies and TV shows years before they're released.
It's all meant in good fun, though we're sure Johnson doesn't appreciate being made fun of in this way.

It’s safe to say Hozier is having a moment. Back in April, he became the first Irish artist to to top the Billboard Hot 100 since Sinead O’Connor with his song “Too Sweet.” And this week, he’s again making history by playing a four-night sold-out run at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York — the first artist to do so in the venue’s 101-year history.
Hozier has plenty of more tour dates on the horizon, including festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Newport Folk Fest, and Montreal’s Osheaga, plus a run of headlining shows across North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. As a preview, he stopped by the Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday to perform the chart-topping “Too Sweet.”

Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Kenan Thompson, Michael Che and Colin Jost all have hosted the Primetime Emmys in the past 15 years, but the late-night community once again is feeling aggrieved by the TV Academy as it heads into the latest awards season.
The central issue relates to the number of nominations in the Outstanding Talk Series and Outstanding Variety Series categories and the difficulty with fairly judging a wide range of shows that can be very different from each other.
Insiders tell Deadline that there needs to be a change in terms of how late-night shows and variety series are judged at the Emmys. However, no one can really agree what that change is.

Vice President Kamala Harris had some biting words about Donald Trump on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight, making it a point to comment on his recent New York felony conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records.
Like President Joe Biden, Harris has started to chime in on the state court case, after the administration and the campaign had said little as the six-week trial played out.
In studio in Hollywood, Harris told Kimmel, “A jury of 12 people, peers, over the course of six weeks, deliberated on the evidence and facts and unanimously determined guilt on 34 felony counts. There was a defense attorney who actively participated in selecting that jury, who actively made decisions about witnesses to call, witnesses to cross examine. And the jury made their decision and you know, I think that the reality is, cheaters don’t like getting caught and being held accountable.”

Jimmy Kimmel has finally scored a meeting with the Vice President.
VP Kamala Harris is now scheduled to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday, June 4.
She was initially slated to guest on Kimmel’s April 16th episode, but postponed the appearance days after it was announced, cutting her Los Angeles trip short for an undisclosed reason.
At the time, insiders said her interview would be rescheduled for a later date. (Harris’ next talk show appearance wound up being The Kelly Clarkson Show on April 29.)
Her appearance will come less than a week after yesterday’s conviction of former President Donald Trump on 34 felony charges related to hush money payments made to Stormy Daniels. Last night, Kimmel had the distinction of being the only late-night host not on vacation the day the news broke.
Harris last appeared on a late-night show in March 2023 when she guested on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Vice President Kamala Harris is heading to late-night after all.
Harris was previously set to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday April 16, but later canceled the appearance, although no reason was given at the time.
She will now appear on the ABC show on Tuesday June 4.
If she makes it this time, it would be her second appearance on the show, having previously appeared in March 2019 when she was running for top office.
Last year, Harris appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and in 2022 made her first late-night appearance since becoming VP on Late Night with Seth Meyers, where she talked up her administration’s plans to fight climate change, restore abortion rights and pardon people with federal convictions for marijuana possession.

In today’s day and age, there are multiple franchises that have won the hearts of many to create fandoms of their own. While some of the positions in this respective list have been retained by superhero sagas like the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Universe, perhaps none comes as close to celebrating almost a half-century of its existence as the Star Wars lore.

Stephen Colbert took his turn commenting on the Donald Trump aide making headlines as the “human printer” during his Thursday night monologue. It began with him noting that the campaign had taken down a video with a headline about a “unified reich” under Trump, which they had said was posted by a junior staffer.
The New York Times reported this week that Natalie Harp is the person responsible, both helping to run his Truth Social social media account and supplying Trump with printouts containing “mood-boosting news” the former president is often seen reading from. Colbert noted that Harp carries a portable printer that lets her quickly produce hard copies of articles for Trump.
“When she really needs his attention, she prints those positive news [stories] right on a slice of bologna,” Colbert joked, before miming Trump reading the news, sniffing it and licking it. He also continued a run of meat-related...

Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert might host comedy shows, but according to a new poll, they’re about as trusted as serious news anchors.
The Hollywood Reporter and decision intelligence firm Morning Consult asked 2,239 adults in the U.S. how much they trusted various TV hosts. While the survey’s focus was mostly on news anchors, three politically-inclined late-night hosts were also included in the survey—and performed favorably.
The survey was conducted over two days in early May, well into Jon Stewart’s run as Monday-night host of The Daily Show.
Asked “How much do you trust [insert anchor name here]?,” respondents had a choice of 5 answers: “A lot,” “Some,” “Not much,” “Not at all,” or “Don’t know / No opinion.”
Both Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert fared about the same: 57% of those surveyed said they had either “a lot” or “some” trust in both hosts.

Both Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert fared about the same: 57% of those surveyed said they had either “a lot” or “some” trust in both hosts.

Matt Damon made his Hollywood debut in 1997, as Will Hunting in the Oscar-winning movie Good Will Hunting. Since then, he has made appearances in many other movies, including the hit action franchise, Bourne. After five movies, one of which Damon missed out on, the series took a break. But now, it looks like things are back in gear.

According to Matt Damon, director Edward Berger of All Quiet on the Western Front has an idea for the next instalment of the Bourne franchise after fans thought we had come to an end with Jason Bourne in 2016. But given Damon is currently 53 years old, it would be quite the task for the actor to reprise the role of the spy. And we already know he is not doing at least one thing in the move if it ever happens.

“The gatekeepers are gone,” Colin Jost told a roomful of journalists at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on April 27, before pivoting to the punchline: “Did you know that 90 percent of people now get their news exclusively from social media? And that must be true because I saw it in a random guy’s TikTok.”
For those (ever fewer) media gatekeepers who have major reach, trust is currency. And there’s still a halo effect for those TV stars with broadest viewership — i.e., network TV hosts — particularly evening and morning show anchors for NBC and ABC, a new THR/Morning Consult poll shows. The survey, conducted May 4-5 among a sample of 2,239 U.S. adults, asked opinions about 40-plus major TV news stars, as well as surveyed trends about America’s fractured media diet during a presidential campaign year.

No one can drag Billie Eilish down…unless you’re the weight strapped to her during the photo shoot for her Hit Me Hard and Soft album cover art.
The Grammy-winning singer revealed on Tuesday’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert that the photo for her third studio album, released May 17, was in fact “very real” and not photoshopped.
“This was the day after this last Grammys, actually. I had gone to sleep at 7 a.m.,” Eilish recalled of the day she shot the artwork. “I woke up, I dyed my hair black — it was like bright red — I dyed it black that day. Then I went to this random place in Santa Clarita or some nonsense. There’s a tank in this giant place, and it was, like, 10 feet deep. And I popped my little ass in there, and I was in there for six hours.
