Ai Wan plays socialite "Sara" in the quarantine hotel in the "The Way We Are"
Winner of BEST EXPERIMENTAL of 2020 Toronto International Woman Film Festival. This film was shot under extremely constrained circumstances, with six actors all apart from each other in separate cities/countries/space. The biggest challenge of making this film is that each actor must stay in the constrained space and shoot the dialogue separately on a different continent but edit it later as one continuous conversation in this story. For example, the role of "Sara" it was shot in Hungary, not China. Actress Ai Wan had to tape her part of the whole film's performance without anyone feeding her lines in Chinese off-camera. Not to mention she is also the writer and lead producer of this film. Everything is done remotely from Hungary to the United States to China. Due to the pandemic and lockdown, Ai has been stranded as the only Chinese person in a small town called Tatabanya since Feb2020. This town is 39 miles(63km) driving distance from the capital Budapest in Hungary.
