Andor (2022)
Where did andor get his accent?
He was adopted by old lady and black man who can speak english with no obvious accents, and at the time he does not understand english at all, which means he learnt english from them after being adopted, so why does he have a weird accent? Professional actors are usually required to be able to do multiple accents, so why did they choose that one instead of matching with his adopted mother? All the imperial officers speak english perfectly well with no accent no matter their race or origin, so this show is saying andor is so uneducated he cant even speak proper english, which can also be seen from how stupid his decisions are.
Solar Opposites: The Fog of Pupa (2022)
I know it's not funny. that's why it's funny!
The jokes are mainly family guy style "I know it's not funny. That's why it's funny!", and random film references. Film references in other shows are usualy subtle and used as ester eggs for people to discover, but this show has the most on the nose form of referencing and literally tell you "this is just like xxx from the movie yyy!".
For All Mankind: Bring It Down (2022)
so many pointless storylines make even mars exploration boring
Whats the point with stealing statue storyline? Whats the point with president is gay storyline? Whats the point with kid going crazy storyline? Remove all these useless filler and show some mars exploration. Spend more time on how they build a drill to extract water, or how serge modified their blueprint to make their russian rocket, what experiements are they doing on mars, or at least something related to space and not just drama.
The Orville: Midnight Blue (2022)
Why does the female colony look like a stone age camp?
Why do male moclans have sophisticated technology and space travel yet when they make a female camp, it turns into an undeveloped village of people dancing around fire and foraging for food? Dont they have replicators to live in better conditions? What if one of those girls in the colony wanted to be a scientist? Are you gonna educate her in your mud hut with books about dolly parton? Is this show saying men are smart and can develope science and technology and women are only into art/culture?
For All Mankind: New Eden (2022)
drama in space. like it always has been
We are going back to the formula of the first two seasons. Based on the begining of this season i thought we would have lots of cool space actions on mars, but guess we have to deal with interpersonal relationship instead.
For All Mankind: Happy Valley (2022)
first half boring, second half fun
The show has been getting better. This episode is the best so far. Not much happens in the first half of this episode, but it ramps up to an exciting ending. The science is still terribly inaccurate though.
For All Mankind: Polaris (2022)
second half exciting
The story at NASA ended at the end of season 2, it was good. I was excited to see this polaris thing and thought a new generation of characters will be here with new and cool adventures, but nope it's just a bunch of old NASA people being pathetic. Also who cares about which country goes to mars first when you can make a ton of money with sapce tourism.
The design of the space station is pretty bad, the science is inaccurate, the computer interface they use is inefficient, but i dont care much anymore because things are going crazier and crazier since season 2 and logic is out the window. I get that you need to create dangerous situations to make people excited. Viewed as a dumb adventure show with space technology it's alright. Just don't think too much about the plot or science and you'll be ok.
The Orville: Electric Sheep (2022)
I'm sad that this is pretty good
I did not want dick and pee jokes to replace star trek but this is officially better than any of those star trek shows now. Anyway im also happy to learn that when i tell someone to kill themself and they do it, it's totally not my fault because suicide is a personal choice.
Star Trek: Picard: Farewell (2022)
at least it's better than episode 9
Wil wheaton over acting is super funny.
Good to see some other TNG cameos. Glad rios is gone, he is basically useless this entire season.
Now i can forget.
Star Trek: Picard: Hide and Seek (2022)
Writers assume their audience cant understand anything
We have to show green lasers that makes enemies super easy to shoot, because otherwise the audience won't be able to tell that someone is trying to shoot the main characters, and be totally confused.
When the main group split up to get into the ship, we cut to a flash back, when we cut back, they had and ADR line that says "we gotta get to the ship" because if we dont say that, the audience would have forgotten what they were doing 2 minutes ago and be totally confused.
We have to say out loud that a gun will explode if someone other than its owner is holding it, because otherwise the audience wont understand what the increasing beeping sound means and be totally confused.
When enemies are shooting at the main character, we must add in the line "they are pinning us down to stop us to get to the ship" because if you dont say it, the audience wont know what's going on and be totally confused.
After all, the audience are fans of star trek, you can't assume they have any intellegence whatsoever.
What If...? (2021)
Most sexist show I've seen
As a woman, I learned that the only way to combat sexism is if I got superpower from sci fi serum and punch people with brute force, instead of using my interllect, because we have seen the female scientists in this show are all just making dumb jokes and falling in love with muscular man at the first instance.
Rick and Morty: The Old Man and the Seat (2019)
You don't have any friend.
Jericw16 , read above line Out Loud. Let it sink in.
Worst episode so far.
One Punch Man: Wanpanman (2015)
When your main character is too overpowered
One problem with this kind of story is that the main character won't have any "character" for he has no trouble doing anything and it's hard to care for him. Season one did a great job with this idea, while mocking the fact that saitama is invincible, it was able to make us care about saitama as he tries to find a purpose in his life.
Season 2 take a different turn. It almsot feels like there is not much to say about saitama and the writer completely abandoned him. The focus on suiryu, garou, king, etc makes me feel like im just watching yet another generic action anime. That being said I cared a lot about garou, but in the end I don't care what happens to saitama. Next season hes just gonna kill all the monsters, garou will be suprised, and ask him how, and he'll just be like "i just work out".
One punch man has lost what made it special.
