The Crossing (2018)

Near and engaging
17 March 2019
The story was neat and engaging. Looking back at it, the elements that make up the story are relatively standard within its genre. It was composed of time travels, secrecy, genetically advanced humans, and threats to humanity, all within a backdrop of a rural community. It reflected on human courage to take charge of its destiny, but also brought out its tendency to go to extreme for a goal. It posed a few questions when time travel is a reality in a short and neatly packed story. Even though it might leave one to wonder what might happen to humanity at the end, this story stands complete in this series.

Deception (2018)

Magic and crime case
23 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The story began with an attempt to incriminate the protagonist, whose twin brother tried to clear. In the process, a series of magic tricks were showcased which suspects might have used in criminal acts. By the nature of an unknown woman's attempt to incriminate the protagonist without a clear intention, the story was shrouded in mystery as to the relation between this woman and the protagonist.

The story also included relations between couples in it, the FBI agent working with the twin brother, the protagonist's ex love interest and another FBI agent. These were sub-interest to the main focus of riddle, magic, and deception. It came to a surprising end that paved way to a next series. It really requires a few more episodes to wrap up the story in full. For example, what exactly was the hidden heirloom of the twin brothers' family that the unknown woman was trying to steal? As it stands, a few loose ends were hanging.

It should appeal to those who like a mix of magic and crime.

Life hilarities
23 February 2019
It is a story about a group of graduates at the beginning of their careers going through mishaps and hilarities in life, and resolving them to a good end. The style was relaxing and fun. It brushed upon the value of comradeship among friends, the comedic dynamic between siblings, the inevitable need to face and resolve emotional backlogs, and the likely requirement of timing in getting girls. The story stands complete in this series. Good for chilling.
