Halftime (2022)
I was disappointed
Watching this documentary kind of ruined the pleasure I had while watching the performance because of that necessity to "label" herself as what she was or what she stands for. But those things are not always necessarily needed to be said because they should primarily come out of your acts and your behavior. But here having it said too much, it gives up the impression that it's not honest, that it's forced too much.
Back to the superbowl, I suppose she was disappointed that she was going to share the stage with Shakira and I try not to judge her for that because I think Shakira is a great performer and because I liked the show overall, but no matter how much "normal" it might be for her to feel that way, at the same time it sheds a very negative light on her and her image. She is someone who works hard, and that's always an imperative in her documentaries and videos, but so is Shakira and so many others. What I was expecting to see is the inspiration behind the show, the creation, the details, the moments captured here and there, which I did only get while watching some of the Shakira's videos.
I think this documentary gives the impression that she doesn't seem to be satisfied with what she has achieved, instead of just being grateful that she got to do it and to enjoy the process of doing it. I feel like I needn't have seen this side of the halftime show.
P. S. I only focused on the Halftime show because that's what I thought the documentary will be about, but in reality it's just a small part of it.
Ramo (2020)
There is only one Ramo
An extraordinary series that I couldn't stop watching. The episodes are so complex and detailed, and the storyline highly entangled with present and the future; betrayals, pacts and tactics; deaths and bullets.
The main character Ramo is so well written and amazingly portrayed by Murat Yildirim. It was such a journey to follow the development of his character from the bottom to top, his progress after every fall, the gestures, facial expressions, words, the look in his eyes. Ramo from the beginning and Ramo from the end, two different people; how well Murat portrayed that.
Another character I liked as much was Dogu, played by Mustafa Yildiran. The change in Dogu's personality, the evolution of his character and his tremendous abilities are what amazed me the most. Dogu is the invincible one, and with Ramo side to side a deadly force.
The only thing I didn't like was the main female character Sibel, played by Esra Bilgic. This is not the first time that the main male protagonist, as powerful and strong as Ramo, has by his side a weak female character, weak in a way that is so badly written and portrayed. It's a pity because it brings the quality of the series.
Sen Çal Kapimi (2020)
Don't waste your time
This series has been poorly done since the beginning. It absolutely does not deserve the rating it has. No plot at all! I still try to figure it out how they still film it without any plot. Average actors and really poor acting which is a bit ironic because the whole "rating thing" revolves around the fact that people just like the main protagonists. And I'd understand if it was a good acting involved, but it's not even average. I've seen average acting but this is a whole new level of inexpressive, emotionless and boring acting which isn't surprising given the fact that the whole series is boring. There are many attempts to copy the Erkenci Kus series that was absolutely amazing, but it is just so bad that it deserves zero stars.
Sefirin Kizi (2019)
Sad
If a protagonist leaves the series, you cannot just get another actress and continue with previously so developed plot as if nothing has happened. Especially if the whole plot revolves around her (Ambassador's DAUGHTER). And then you "try" to go in the same direction as before but all you do is destroy the story more and more. What you do when the main actor/actress leaves the series is, YOU END THE SERIES. Because the audience you already lost. But instead you chose to destroy the main character Nare by portraying her as a bad mother, by taking away from her the only thing she had left, her motherhood, just so you don't end the series. By portraying her as a selfish person that destroys other people's lives just to get the "Ambassador's daughter" without the daughter. From all the possible endings, you chose her to leave her daughter which is the one things she would never do. Anyone who watched the series would know that Nare would never do that. It is disappointing, to watch something good turn into something so bad.
Hercai (2019)
Disappointed
Such a promising series in the beginnin, a nicely developped plot and good acting. But too much "drama" I'd say, even for a drama genre. And then the biggest fiasco of all. I don't know what happened with the the screenwriters but I've heard dozens of better plots in the community of unsatisfied audience that also ask themselves the same question.
Siyah Beyaz Ask (2017)
Black and White Love Review
"Black and White Love" is a story that follows lives of two contrasting characters Ferhat and Asli brought together by fate. While Ferhat is austere and harsh, lost in the world of guns and mafia, Asli is a kind-hearted doctor who saves lives. Together they are just like black and white, so unalike yet somehow perfect for one another. The storyline was quite interesting with the exception of various unnecessary or completely misplaced characters and events such as the appearance of Julide, Asli's niece, whose character is, in my opinion, entirely redundant, or the sudden realization that Ozge is Ferhat's daughter. Out of all characters, I find Ferhat to be the most developed and Ibrahim Celikkol's acting to be exceptional, deep and persuasive. But at the same time I am highly disappointed by the acting of the Birce Akalay who plays the female protagonist Asli. I found her acting to be plain and unconvincing. Overall I liked the series even though I am disappointed by where the story-line went from a certain point.
Oscuro deseo (2020)
Not so impressed
The story isn't that hard to follow as I read here in the reviews. Not for me at least. But the trailer is very misleading. It makes it look like the story is all about the sexual attraction between Alma and Dario meanwhile it's not. It's just the short part of the story-line that's more complex and it isn't the main focus. The story could have been done so much better and there are certain details that don't fit in properly.
