Atlas (2024)
Not terrible but not good
Pity about the R13 rating as it would be great for kids under that as thats about the maturity of the storyline. It's cheesy, I think there were supposed to be some funny parts but they came off as scripted, and the movie itself was so predictable I was playing a game on my laptop while watching it yet still kept up with what was going on. Jennifer Lopez's acting left a lot to be desired and the AI voice was no better.
With the budget they had I would have thought the CGI would be better but I have seen far worse. Overall if you want to watch something you don't have to pay attention to and you just want a background movie it's ok.
Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
Yawn
Well that was an expensive waste of money. As per other reviews the special effects were good but the movie itself was a bore. I can't even comment too much on the storyline as it couldn't hold my attention enough to follow it and just ended up with it playing in the background.
Now for the part of my review when I'm just filling in characters to make up 600 as there really isn't much more to say about it. As a time filter I guess it's worth watching to say you have but if I had of paid to see it in the theatre I would have given it a two as I would have been annoyed I wasted my money to watch it.
House of the Dragon (2022)
Episode 4 - it's growing on me
I'm enjoying it more as it goes on, it's still not Game of Thrones where it grabbed you in the first episode but it's improving. The characters are getting more interesting and I hope there are going to be some unexpected deaths as that's what I expect as the bar has been set.
I do believe 600 characters is a bit much though as I really don't have anymore to say until I have watched more episodes, I just wanted to up my rating on it.
More random words now to meet the quota and even more and more and more. Still not there yet so I will keep rambling on and on and on and on. The v fronts of power is improving also although at episode 5 I only give it a six but I have good for that also.
2067 (2020)
Tacky
The acting is just bad.
The special effects leave a lot to be desired.
But at least the story is crap.
I guess it could have been worse but it would have taken effort.
Interceptor (2022)
I tried to watch it
I have read a few of Rileys books and thought it can't be as bad as the reviews as the books I read I enjoyed, but it really was. There's no point in me rehashing what's already been said, except we need another Bruce Willis. I'm not against woman being action heros, I love the alien and resident evil series but you can barely find a movie anymore where there's a male lead in this genre. It's no wonder I just keep rewatching older movies.
The Batman (2022)
It was worth watching
A good movie but not great, I weren't entirely sold on Pattinson but he was better than I expected. I would probably watch it again once it comes up on the streaming channels but I wouldn't pay to see it twice as to me something was just missing, I'm not sure what but it just was hence my score.
And that's about all I can say about it as it hasn't inspired me to add anymore be it positive or negative.
Les Norton (2019)
I enjoyed revisiting the books
It took a few episodes to actually get into it, but by the third one I enjoyed it and it improved as I got used to the actors in their various parts. Yes it could have been better, but couldn't everything. As long as you aren't expecting the world and just want an enjoyable watch that doesn't require too much thought, it's well worth it.
The Wheel of Time (2021)
It's not bad but not great
Whomever wrote the script at best skim read the books as it's pretty far removed from them and adapted it to what they believe they should have been. It's a pity as the series could have been fantastic. But if you pretend the books never existed it's watchable.
I just wish script writers didn't think they know better than the author's of books; the books were wildly popular for a reason and I do hope it's made into a series properly in the future, but for now it's the best of a bad bunch as there is no real competition in this genre currently. If it came out the same time as game of thrones it would have been lucky to get a four.
Midsommar (2019)
It was ok
It would have been better if they killed off the main character in the first 20 minutes as she was annoying as hell and the reason I suggest the first 20 minutes is so you can get a true feeling of just how annoying she is. Apart from that it was watchable but not something I would watch again.
Body Cam (2020)
I enjoyed it
Possibly my score is a bit higher than it should be, but compared to the crap put lately it is an 8.
Another Life (2019)
It was truly awful
I have nothing more to add much like it added no entertainment to my life.
