Sleeping Dogs (2024)
this Crowe's movie is better than the Land of Bad
It's fascinating how Crowe manages to churn out three films annually. That level of productivity is impressive.
I was ironing while watching in the evening. So maybe my point is influenced by this activity :-D
The storyline sounds captivating - a former detective with amnesia delving back into a murder case adds several unique twists as it evolves. It's always a thrill when a narrative keeps you occupied. The element of surprise can truly elevate the viewing experience, keeping viewer engaged and eager to see how it all unfolds. It's no wonder you can found yourself rooting for the detective to crack the case.
FBI: International (2021)
just a stupid american view how another countries work
If you don't know how international anti-crime works, don't do action movies on that topic. FBI does not do that kind of operations as mentioned in the show. Creator didn't even bother to read FBI official website on international operations, e.g. Seating in the Embassy/Consulate, serve Ambassador, etc.
Otherwise it might be a good series. But evidently they cannot do a show other than a fast action-like drama. International crime solving takes time, different jurisdictions...
Another part is that creators does not reflect situations in particular countries. Like using Euro in Hungary, using guns without permit, not respecting local authorities.
Jaguar (2021)
could be better
The storyline is interesting topic. I watched it dubbed, so it moved a quality down. Sometimes it is like neurotic company, specially Blanca Suarez when meeting Buamanns. Moreover, I don't understand why Netflix must force gay revelation in a nazi-hunting programme.
Overally, I think this mini series was filmed only because European Union forces Netfllix to have some European productions. It is waste of money.
Stillwater (2021)
unusual film
First, I though another movie where somebody like Liam Neeson will drive fast cars through Parisian streets and there will be a lot of action. Instead we have something unordinary of an ordinary man trying to help her daughter in a broken way he is able. I like the end (without spoiler) because it is not some happy ending, but like Bill said: Life is Brutal. I like this movie.
Ragnarok (2020)
stupid activist show
Instead of some nice post-ancient we have here a shadow of secondary-school students and bad ancient giants who are also wealthy family with disgraceful life.
It has some good real life point of abusing power with a corruption and institutionalisation but it fails because a 3000 years-old son felt in love? Seriously, he had perhaps 500 girlfriends, none of those was his true love?
Headmaster's sex at school party with student is a top of absurdity.
And for us, out of Norway, please explain more, why mother rather gives his son to state controlled care rather to at least speak with him (instead bought some candies and cry watching TV)
it feels like a student project rather than netflix grown up thing. Sorry.
Wrath of Man (2021)
stupid movie
Does anybody understand this movie? There were so many logical errors I cannot imagine one person did the screen play.
1, why is he parking so far away, why call his employees about the truck when burglers were set on one side, why they did not know who is behind it?
2, is this how money transfer works in the usa? In europe there are no bags and money goes to bank or like a bank facility. Nothing like this. And usualy these location are close to the police station and not like 8 minutes swat away.
3, who is this guy, some mafia boss that he killed like a 20 people before employing himself in the company? How it is relevant and who is the guy at the end? I think the either film something more or cut important part out.
This movie does not make sense at all. It is stupid compilation of killing.
Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021)
language
It is a cheap story, easy to watch while I was ironing. One thing I am still thinking about, is it really necessary to let 10 yo kids use f-words? There should be a better way... :-/
El Presidente (2020)
subtitles
I cannot help myself, but everybody outside the US, calls it football, but subtitles call it soccer. Even the organisation, like Chilean National Soccer Association, is actually The Football Federation of Chile. I was thinking, why did not rename FIFA to FISA. :D
Ender's Game (2013)
very stupid film
I saw it recently and I cannot help myself, it is a stupid film with flat characters out of common sense.
First part is like typical Hollywood selection, one tiny boy and bunch of haters. Then narrow selection of the smartest kids turns to group of very stupid people again. If this is the best we should have in the future than it is better for those creatures to win ;-)
It is out of any battlefield experience that unskilled young is given so much power without any controls. There is no government, no people representatives, only one officer with some unstable psychologist and groups of teenagers who train to shoot at each other in no gravity field but they are fighting the aliens with drones...
I didn't understand the last pictures after the fight - that the best boy the humanity has is going to cry after the match because he killed all enemies? And next he goes to some rock to find an alien who came to his dreams?
