Love the series, hate the audio!
31 December 2023
Loving this series, but the forced English voiceover is just horrible. I enjoy watching international series in their original audio and hate that I have no choice to change it. And the music is awful too, it just doesn't match up with the era. Hated that about Peaky Blinders as well. These issues are why I can only give it 8 stars. That being said, the story and actors are great! Would've given it an easy 10 if not for my previous complaints. Reading other reviews makes me feel better that I'm not alone and exaggerating.

I also don't appreciate being forced to write a 600 review on here, so it will be my last. Happy New Year to all!

My Turkish Game of Thrones!
13 August 2019
I've been watching Turkish TV series for about 3yrs now, and fully in love with their stories. I've also been a huge Game of Thrones fan since the beginning. Now that it has ended (ugh, so sad), I was dying to find something in that realm. That's when I came across this AMAZING series on Netflix! I love it's historical value, the actors (BAMSI, my favorite!) as well as it's respect for all religions. With so much hate in this world, learning more about Islam has warmed my heart greatly. I was raised Christian, but can't help to feel connected and respect the teachings of Islam. No matter what religion you practice, honesty and love for your fellow man is the key. I'm a firm believer in that.

This series overall does an outstanding job in telling such a great story about a real life character and what leads to the beginning of the Ottoman Empire. Even the costumes seemed to be their own great character because they are well made and truly stunning.

This is by far the longest series I have ever watched, but it's so good that I look forward to each episode. I'm currently on Season 4, Episode 50 and still can't get enough. Glad I still have season 5, but this one isn't on Netflix yet. Might have to check YouTube. So if you're a GOT addict like me and can't wait for the prequel coming out next year, this Turkish series will most certainly hold you over-HIGHLY recommend!

Only negative part: No dragons. Instead, you get some beautiful horses. :)
