The Axiom (2018)
Definitely worth a watch
This film feels like it lives in the same universe as 'resolution' and 'the endless'. It feels like an elaboration and development. Even the landscapes are very similar. All three movies stand alone and are able to be watched enjoyably without any past knowledge of the others, but the best order i'd say would be Resolution, the endless, the axiom. Basically - if watched by itself, it's decent. Worth a watch for someone who enjoys lower budget horror with a decent concept. But if watched after the other two it really gains a further layer. Of course the acting is pretty average and the plot doesn't go as far as it really should have, but its definitely worth an hour or so of your free time.
Escape Room (2019)
Not another stale escape room movie
I wanted to watch this so badly that I was literally furious at four polish girls that had the gall to die in an escape room in Poland and cause the movie release date to be pushed back by several months. So any review I give has to be in the context of that. That being said - this was a great film. Reviewers have compared it to cube crossed with the final destination and I don't disagree. It has an element of sadism and 'what the hell - why is this happening', which is reminiscent of Cube, but the visuals, effects, and larger than life plot events are closer to the final destination series. However it is a shade more plausible than the final destination series and gives a little more why backstory than the cube universe. The ending left me feeling a bit mixed. Not sure whether I found it entirely satisfying. However - i'd recommend it to anyone. If there is ever a sequel, i'd happily watch it.
