Titane (2021)
Disclaimer: I love surrealism.
12 May 2022
I have to clarify that I love surrealism (that's an upgrade of the movie).

I'm just someone who demands a plot justification for everything I watch in a movie. That's my problem with the film, because there are situations that are not explained when they occur but the viewer hopes to understand at the end of the film (or after a re-watch). Well, that understanding or verisimilitude pact never happens (and I insist, it has nothing to do with the wonderful world).

A must watch (just) for cinematography
1 December 2021
Chung Chung-Hoon saves this movie, his care of photography is impeccable. Clearly he is one of the best cinematographers of all time. I recommend this movie because it is 10/10 of that.

BUT...the script is poor. This one has caricatured characters (unnecessary ones), melodramatic plot twists (predictable), and a childish ending. It's a 4/10 in that regard.

Regarding the performances, Anya Taylor-Joy and Thomasin Mckenzie did very well.

Beast (2021)
The best short movie of 2021
5 November 2021
10/10. This short film manages to expose a fascist in the most beautiful and disturbing way. The power of symbolism down to the smallest detail in the animation is spectacular. A Masterpiece from Chile, from Latin America, from the 21st century, from the world, from History.

Candyman (1992)
This is a clear masterpiece
28 September 2021
This is a clear masterpiece, a genuinely underrated classic horror film.

A story that transcends the rest of the classics because it has the peculiarity that it will never age badly. It's a "must see" for horror fans.

Nothing more to say.
28 September 2021
Action movies have a stigma of being empty, banal, and easy. "The Suicide Squad" basically killed everyone who stigmated like that.

Nothing more to say.

A plot full of implausibility
28 September 2021
It is difficult to appreciate the performances or the technical section within a plot with so many inconsistencies. In some moments you understand how things work within this fantastic world, but the rules that applied in some moments cease to apply in another, and it ends up in a plot full of implausibility.

The only thing I really liked was the idea, and some performances, very good there.

Squid Game (2021– )
Ignore the multiple script holes
28 September 2021
I understand its success, and I see that Netflix knows how to catch with a series (especially with such a remarkable visual production). But on a personal level, I did not enjoy it, I saw it complete just because it is entertaining, but just. It seems to me that the only way to enjoy it would be to ignore the multiple script holes and inconsistencies in the plot, or to appreciate only the technical-visual section.

Probably the best of 2021.
9 August 2021
The viewer will be easily immersed in the script because of the risky but successful cinematography and the impeccable lead performance (Tom Holland is increasingly amazed).

The only reason I didn't give it a 10/10 is that the script sometimes surrealistically twists in favor of chaos.

Cruella (2021)
A poor script and an amazing lead actress.
31 May 2021
Leading performance and Production Design deliver a lot of value to the film. But the script does just the opposite; it is boring, implausible and unoriginal. I mean the movie is a struggle between a poor script and an amazing lead actress. So, despite everything, the movie can be enjoyed (Thanks Emma Stone + Production).

Drive (I) (2011)
Intriguing visual-sound experience, even beautiful, even perfect ... and good script.
27 May 2021
Sound editing brings the audience into a movie whose visual style will end up captivating, intriguing them. Regarding these resources (sound and colors) it is a 10/10.

About the script, I must say that I liked it a lot, the scenes of greater intensity left me on the edge of the seat (several times), my only problem is the little depth that it gives to the protagonist, and do not get me wrong, he is a good character built, but only that, just "good". I mean, if the script had given to this serious man more depth, the lead performance could have been much more appreciable, and then the script could have been as good as the sound-visual experience.

For this I give this movie an 8/10. It is remarkable, but not perfect.

Stop the hate, please, this is a masterpiece.
25 May 2021
With this review I do not intend to defend my position of "why did I give it 9/10". With this review I come to defend this masterpiece of cinema.

For starters, many people say "its effects aged poorly." And I tell you that all special effects age poorly, because day by day they evolve, and tomorrow we will say that the effects of "Infinity War" aged poorly.

There are also some who say "is equal to pocahontas" ... really? Pocahontas? First of all, "Pocahontas" is based on a real character who lived through historical experiences from the past (google it). The conquest of Native Americans was a tragic time in history that has inspired many cinematographic works.

And finally, there are those who say that the story is too conventional ... I accept that, it is true, but the way of portraying it is unconventional, it is artistically precious.

It's a movie that every time I see it again, I fall in love more.

The little big problem is the script.
25 May 2021
Good photography, good sound management, good production, good performances. The mentioned is almost 10/10... but the script, which is the most important thing, is bad (2/10). The story is boring and repetitive.

My rating to the film as a whole is "6/10"

I partially think they deserve less. (2/10)
25 May 2021
I give them 2/10, although I partially think they deserve less. The only thing that is appreciated is the first five minutes, mainly because it promises a lot. But for the rest of the film, there's a lousy script, montage, acting, and horrible creative decisions. One of the worst movies I have ever seen.

The Father (I) (2020)
the scriptwriter is a pioneer
25 May 2021
Many films have depicted this disease, but few have dared to do it from the perspective of the person who suffers from it. It is appreciated that the scriptwriter is a pioneer in this regard. In addition, creative decisions are correct regarding the message. The best thing about the movie is Anthony Hopkins, who deserves much more than an Oscar for this performance. The only flaw is that, on very few occasions, the tape feels tedious and perhaps it could have been even shorter. If not for that (like one or two scenes), I would give it 10/10.

Prisoners (2013)
it deserves a lot more than that.
25 May 2021
The best crime drama I have seen, considering that there are many works of this genre that I consider my favorites. The script intrigues, but the interpretations are the most essential of this film. Every expression, every acting move, every dialogue takes you back to the story and keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. The movie has an 8.1, but (even if that rating is high) it deserves a lot more than that.

This masterpiece works in the cinematographic field
23 May 2021
This film takes risks but is very assertive at the same time. Also, it stands out in the cinematographic field (acting, editing, set design, costumes, choreography, makeup, photography and script).

Nice film, but the only problem is that the story depends partially on the original filmviewer.

I loved this movie, for its performances, its interesting script, and, of course, its peculiar vision of heartbreak.

(...) the movie gets better in every way (...)
11 May 2021
I'm not exaggerating when I rate this movie a 10/10. From the first minute it's intriguing, you want to keep watching, not just for the impeccable performances, but for the incredible montage of scenes and the quality of the script. And best of all, as time goes on, the movie gets better in every way. Without a doubt, it is one of the best films in the history of cinema.

Nobody (I) (2021)
A cliché that stands out above the others.
6 May 2021
From the first minute you get into the script, not necessarily because of artistic interest, but because it is promising. And in that sense, it does not disappoint. The film is full of epic scenes (which is appreciated) that while they are in charge of reminding you that it is a fictional film, however, at times, it borders on realism (which is also appreciated). In short, despite the clichés and the implausibility, the film stands out for its level of production, acting, script and editing.
