Severed (2005)
Not horrible, but could have been better
I have seen worse in my time, what initially got my attention on this one was on the back of the DVD, it said the special effects were created by the same studio that did the Final Destination FX so I thought at least I would get decent gore fx, well I was disappointed that most of the bloody fx were just a lot of chunky spraying blood in the face kind of stuff, almost all the zombie biting scenes were just them clamping down on odd sections of the body with just a little blood around the mouth, you never actually see them pull off pieces of flesh, there were maybe two shots of the zombies feasting on a body, those ones were okay but the shaky camera made it difficult to see much detail, the overall film isn't bad and it kept me interested and not bored, however it is a "zombie flick" it just lacked in the gore score.
Funny Man (1994)
FunnyMan is a lot of "Fun"
I finally got the pleasure of viewing FunnyMan after missing my chance on VHS years ago, I have to say I was very pleased with this little known gem.A word of advice before viewing the film, don't go into it expecting serious horror and gore, you wont find it, But if you want to watch a fun and "funny" film then by all means check it out, the original short in the extras is worth the ten bucks alone. There is no need to go into the details of the film as other user comments have already done so, All I have to say is that take it for what is is, a fun film with humor, acting that's better than some low boa films and decent make up/costumes.
Bone Sickness (2004)
Italian gore anyone?
First off, for an indie flick this was rockin',The acting was not all that bad i've seen worse,a lot worse. I really enjoyed the story of why the dead reanimated, I don't recall ever seeing it done in this manner, the gore in Bone Sickness is extreme, the red stuff flies freely and furiously, after a while I felt like i needed a towel let alone the actors, all kidding aside, the gory effects reminded me of the old Italian gore such as Fulci,Bava and Argento but with it kicked up a notch. for the matter of being shot on digital I personally would have liked to see super 8, just to give it some grain, that's just me, I like a little grain in my gore. Overall this is a must have for gore/Zombie fans, I liked this film all the way to the last second.
