Cha$e (2008)
Not too bad
This show premiered last night on the Sci-Fi Channel, and I have to say I enjoyed it. I compared it to "The Amazing Race" meets "Fear Factor." It also made me think of night games like sardines that I used to play as a kid. They call the game a 'live action video game.' Ten players are dropped on a 'Game Board' trying to survive for 60 minutes with out getting caught by a hunter to earn $25,000. Each player equipped with a map, a phone to receive game updates from the host and to call other players for help, and have a pack attached to their back (purpose is learned later). But that's not all, on the board, there are other things that will improve the game. There are flags that will earn the players more money if they win and items for evading the hunters. Some items are earned for individuals, some can be earned for the whole group.
As the game progresses, more hunters are added to the board. Most hunters are on foot and their purpose is to tag the runners. There is one hunter, introduced near the end of the 60 minutes that is on a motorcycle. They cannot tag the player, but they do inform the other hunters to their location. The hunters are basically my one gripe about the show. They were basically made to look and act like terminators. THEY ARE HUMAN, obviously electronics will not work on them, but the show makes it look like they do.
Interesting show to watch, but I think I'd rather play the game, than watch it be played.
Wild Hogs (2007)
Way better than the reviews say
I just got back from the theater and I gotta say, Wild Hogs was hilarious! It's a great mid-life-crisis type movie. Good, plain old funny. Making straight-up funny jokes like peeing on the side of the road and phrases like "...If we're gonna drink p***, we're gonna drink it cold!".
A couple hilarious scenes with Ray Liotta as a VERY bad boy as he usually plays and John C. McGinley (Dr. Cox from Scrubs). And he looked VERY good in that highway patrolman uniform.
I would have liked to have heard Tim Allen let out one of those simian growls like on Home Improvement and seen Jon Travolta dance a little. Of all the roles in the movie, I think William H. Macy got the best one. He had the best jokes and physical comedy.
So ignore the and 'professional' critics and ask someone who actually saw it
Mathnet: The Case of the Mystery Weekend (1992)
I remember watching it as a kid
This episode had Frankley and Tuesday got away on a weekend and the show ends up being a basic combination of "And then there were none" by Agatha Christie and the game Clue.
The six other guests in the house they were staying in start disappearing one by one. The disappear in order of the color of their rooms, rainbow order. With each disappearance, there is a statue that disappears in the house, and a news article left in the disappearing person's room about how they were responsible for some kind of crime.
Of course the story ends how all classic mysteries end...the butler did it.
Criminal (2004)
Great Movie
A great film! I had never heard of it until I saw it in a video store, as far as I knew, it was straight to video. I picked it up, read the back and saw it was produced by George clooney. and George Clooney doesn't make mistakes (Except oceans 12 and batman&robin). So I figured it had to be a good movie. John C. Riley makes a great con artist in this film where he and Diego Luna as another con artist team up to con a rare counterfeit bill for a huge amount of money. Along the way they have to pull several small cons together. It all pulls together in the end with an awesome twist comparable to "Usual Suspects" and "Murder on the orient express"
