Invincible: It's Been a While (2023)
THE WAIT IS ON FOR EPISODE 5
I cannot describe how much I enjoy watching invincible in my opinion at the moment there is nothing else like it this episode just proves how incredible this series really.
I am excited for what's to come next for the characters (unfortunately) there is no offical date for when episode 5 will air which is a bummer but I'm hoping the wait until then will leave me more hyped to see the rest.
The ratings for this episode are high for a reason the stakes, the action and where the story is headed. I must say I was glad they didn't take a cliche approach. Invincible keeps on surprising me and while I wait for the next episode I'm going to take Nolan's advice and "read my books" by starting the graphic novel.
Invincible: This Missive, This Machination! (2023)
IT MOST CERTAINLY HAS 'BEEN A WHILE'
This episode has got lots of different stories packed into its 50 minute run time but that is by no means to say that it is 'messy or boring'. We get to learn more abouts certain characters and the back story behind there involvement in the viltrumites purging.
The narrating bit over the sex scenes had some humour behind it but I couldn't help but compare it to a toned down version of the boys. That is the only pick point I have of this episode other then that it was incredibly interesting especially hearing Peter cullens voice.
I did enjoy this episode and the ending it presented to us this series has been nothing but fantastic from season 1 to season 2. Let's see where the writers take us in the next episode.
Loki: Glorious Purpose (2023)
THE PURSUIT OF PURPOSE
Season 1 was incredible how does one top a first season like that..... but season too o What a 'glorious' ending
My how this episode was beautiful not only but it's cinematography but the writing and direction. This episode will go down as one of the greats.
Loki has been an absolute rollercoaster of emotions and I am so glad I spent my time watching this. I can't see where I'll be in 5, 10, 20 years from now but for now I am just glad I had the opportunity to watch and admire this remarkable episode
This whole series has been breathtaking right from the start to its finish thank you Kate Herron.
Invincible: In About Six Hours I Lose My Virginity to a Fish (2023)
GOOD EPISODE, ALOT OF NEW PLOTS
This episode was decent it is packed with a lot of new plots and stories merging from different events that are accruing in the background of the main plot and from the previous season.
Invincible has been one of the series that I rely on heavily when it comes to superhero content next to the boys but this episode had a few to many stories going on for me to focus on one I'm sure the average viewer can understand that by no means puts this as a 'bad' episode but more on the ok side.
I did find the part about marks responsibilities out-weighing his desire to be a 'teenager' reminding me a lot of Spiderman having to figure out how to balance his social and superhero life. Let's keep are fingers crossed that the spectacular Spider-Man voice actor has been cast for a reason and can give mark some tips.
The Great Escaper (2023)
THE HARSH REALITY OF LIFE LONG AFTER THE WAR
The great escaper is an emotional journey showing how veterans cope with the effects of war and the guilt they carry with them. This movie has a lot of mixed in humour which I must say was actually quite funny.
I took my mum to see this movie and she has a massive soft spot for the elderly so you can be sure that most of the emotionally driven scenes she had a tear in her eye.
It was nice to see scenes with the veterans and one particular scene that seemed like a very impactful moment for those involved. I would like to say this movie reminded me of 'the best exotic marigold hotel' in terms of doing something that others have deemed you too old or to frail to do. I would recommend if you get the chance take a parent or your grandparents to see this movie as I'm sure you will all enjoy it and have a few laughs along the way.
Invincible: A Lesson for Your Next Life (2023)
THE WAIT IS FINALLY OVER
Invincible is back the wait is finally over and what a first episode. Invincible is back and still piecing together what happened across the last season much like us the audience. The introduction of said new character came with a very interesting premise and plot which sets the series up for an eventful season.
My favourite part of this episode has to be the maulers for a side villain character there intellect, chemistry (between one another) and importance to both this season and last makes them more then just boring side character.
This episode was a fresh start to this season I'm hoping to hear more about the new character intial plan and the whereabouts of omni-man.
Thank you for reading my review hopefully see you in episode 2...
Loki: Science/Fiction (2023)
MARVEL PERFECT POINT IN TIME
Where to start with this episode incredible from start to finish. I haven't felt this sense of fearful and uneasiness high stakes since that of infinity war and endgame. Loki has done nothing but intrigued me from the first episode till now. This episode just proves how wrong you can be about the necessarity of a series about loki.
The story for this episode is emotional, frustrating and physiologically moving. My first thoughts of loki season 2 were "does there need to be a season 2" but after finishing this episode I am exhilarated for the season finale and quite honesty it can't come soon enough.
The direction this whole series has taken has been nothing but amazing from episode 1 of the first season to this episode, the character they have created from nothing more then a villainous side actor to the main hero of his own story.
My honest review of why I gave this episode a 10 is nothing more then nowadays It can be difficult to feel excitement or intrigue for a series as most people say "quantity over quality" but for loki it is different and I hope I can say that it was nothing more then incredible come episode 6 (the season finale)
Thank you for taking the time to read my review hopefully see you in the season finale...
Gen V: Guardians of Godolkin (2023)
THE BIG GUNS HAVE ARRIVED
Episode from start to finish had me completely engaged what an impressive finale to a series. Currently I have to say I have enjoyed this more then I expected if you haven't been watching this series this episode should be the reason why you do.
The action scenes in this episode were epic to say the least and the final act just seemed very well implemented to the story almost like a payoff for the viewers much like the last episode continuing to introduce it into the wider universe of the boys.
The wait is now on for the boys season 4 which after for a long time I have been eagerly awaiting much like most fans but after this series I'm excited to see where the characters go and what part they are going to play in the future
Thank you for taking the time to read my review see you in the boys season 4 episode 1...
Gen V: Sick (2023)
HEADS WILL ROLL INDEED
This episode starts of quick getting right into the action. I must say I enjoyed this episode most out of the series. The connections to the wider (the boys) universe has me eager for the series finale and the boys season 4.
Episode 7 had some epic action sequences, each different one had me fully engaged waiting to see what would happen next. The characters continue on there pursuit to uncover the lies and deception of the woods. It was good to see some of the other characters getting some more screen time.
The whole episode was an impressive one from start to finish and the conclusion was unexpected and had me nervous for what was going to happen. I am really enjoying this series and I am more then excited for what's to come in next weeks episode.
The Creator (2023)
GIVE IT A CHANCE, FORM YOUR OWN OPINION
This film has plenty of controversy surrounding the reviews my advice is to give the film a chance if you enjoy sci-fi movies with stunning visuals and a fantastic soundtrack then the creator is one to add to the list
I think the reasons I enjoyed the creator were simple the reviews were mostly negative with few people saying it's ok, good or just average so i didn't have many expectations going it but throughout the movie I was pleasantly surprised, don't get me wrong the story has its faults but I don't think In anyway it was boring or uninspired
My advice is go and see this movie and form an opinion of your own I have been let down by majority reviews before and I think this is a movie worth seeing in the cinema.
My favourite part of the creator has to be the soundtrack it playing in a silent cinema really had you moved combined with the immaculate visuals I'd say this is a great 8/10
Thank you for taking the time to read my review 👍
Gen V: Jumanji (2023)
GRIPPING EPISODE, INTERESTING STORYLINE
The start of this episode is quite slow the first 5-10 minutes but once in gets into where we are going, the storyline has you gripped until the credits roll.
This episode has an interesting premise carried through until the end exploring more about each character and the guilt that lies within them.
Episodes with this concept usual remind me of game sequences where you are taken through a section that helps you understand pivotal parts of the story that were otherwise not said or told to help us as the audience understand the motivations and actions of characters.
Episode 6 was perfectly carried by all the individual main characters. The story was intriguing, the setting was captivating and I'm eager to see where the story takes us next
Once again thank you for taking the time to read my review 👍
Loki: Breaking Brad (2023)
I THOUGHT IT WAS SPOT ON TOO
The start of this episode draws you in perfectly with its new setting and dare I say the old loki we all love and remember. The chemistry between Owen Wilson and Tom Hiddleston is impeccable, each scene with both of them perfectly conveys there humorous yet problematic relationship.
There is a specific scene in this episode with loki and another character who talks about lokis previous wrongdoings. This scene has some incredible dialogue from said character, asking all the right questions and all the right statements to fuel our characters and us as the audience emotions. This scene almost makes you question who the good guy really is.
The stakes in this series feel the highest they have ever not just from recent marvel entries but in the entirety of the MCU. Although ant-man quantomania introduced us properly to kang, this series makes his presence feel that much more destructive (even though we haven't properly met kang the conqueror variant).
LOKI is one of those characters who did great as a side character but really stands out among others as the main role. Towards the start of this episode I was going to give a rating of 8 but as it progressed on I enjoyed it just as much as I did with the first one.
Gen V: Welcome to the Monster Club (2023)
GOOD EPISODE BUT STARTING TO FEEL AS LOST AS THE CHARACTERS
This episode started of very strangely, if your watching this with your parents good luck 😅😅
Throughout this episode we explore further into the memory wipes some explained well through interactions but others left me confused and lost as to what is happening.
The twist in this episode is a questionable one to say the least, I sometimes find it difficult to process the the real enemy when they are introduced with no Alabi. This episode and the past series I have to put Emma at the top ranking as she is the most interesting character
Although this episode was good I feel there was a lot left to be desired hopefully the next episode there is a more in-depth explanation for the reasonings of our new villian
Thank you for taking time to read my review till the next one.....
Loki: Ouroboros (2023)
MARVEL FINALLY QUALITY OVER QUANTITY
This episode is a fantastic start to the season, had me fully engaged until the credits rolled.
The whole episode is perfectly constructed from where the last season left off, he who remains may be gone but the rest of the TVA are left picking up the pieces
The chemistry between Tom hiddleston and Owen Wilson alone is enough to enjoy this episode. I'm extremely happy to see Ke Huy Quans, his performance in everything everywhere all at once was incredible, and the introduction of his character.
This episode has everything from increasingly impressive visuals, to emotional dialogue/scenes and a an exceptional story to set up for this season
Owen Wilson's mobius is this episodes comedic relief his scenes with loki and O. B are hilarious and I hope we see more of those three interacting
I'm pumped for this series season it's going to take a lot to top it from the last.
Gen V: The Whole Truth (2023)
GOOD EPISODE, CONFUSING ENDING
This episode is another good one, I must say I am enjoying this show more then most recent Disney+ shows
I had myself routing for the bad guys this episode as tek knight being introduced who is pointed more a villian even though he is trying to help discover the WHOLE truth emphasis on the hole
Episode 4 left me with a sense of confusion with its ending I did watch the snippet of episode 5 which seems although they will explain this but I can't help feeling like this is questionable way to end an episode
I've rated this episode with an 8 for me they have all been an 8 which is good and I am eager to see more.
Gen V: God U. (2023)
Great start to a spin-off
This episode had me engaged throughout with the plot unfolding in front of me. The characters were interesting, the setting in which the series takes place (godolkin university) was intriguing, I was throughly impressed by the new super powers that were introduced.
I have faith that this series will be just as good as the boys was when that series first started. I am hoping for a mix of sex education and sky high but it looks more like it's taking more of a legion meets the boys path.
If you are departing if you should watch after the lacklustre superhero series and movies as of late like the boys this series stands high above the other.
Sex Education: Episode 6 (2023)
THE EPISODE THAT FELT MORE LIKE SEASONS 1-3
This episode for me was a return to form, the style in which all the scenes played out was perfectly alined.
This season I was hoping for nothing more then more exploration with Adam and his father (Mr grouff) hopefully that continues through the last couple of episodes.
Until now I have felt this season to be and as much as I hate to say it more outlandish, that is not to say that is anything to do with the characters introduced but more the setting of cavendish college. The college seems to be run by mostly students and I would be had pressed to admit I enjoyed the teaching characters of seasons 1-3
With rather a lot riding on this last season, as it is the last, I hope the series comes to a more realistic conclusion for our characters. If it does I will be more then happy to admit I was wrong....
This is my first review I thought it was a good idea to start it with something I am really enjoying.
