Invasion (2021)
Must...go...on...must...watch...more...
I can't get enough of this show, however...This is one of those shows where I feel like adding commercials would help speed it up. At least with commercials I can get up and do stuff and not miss anything. For the majority of the show where things don't happen or unravel at a turtle pace, you can see clearly. When there is critical content you need in order to continue your watching quest, it either A) is filmed entirely in the dark, or B) happens lightning quick and you need to pause/rewatch AND put the subtitles on so you can grasp the plot of what's happening. Each week is 5 minutes of progress and 45 minutes of slow build-up.
Godzilla vs. Kong (2021)
You rate for the battles not the plot
If you're going to rate a Godzilla movie, it better be for the battles and the look on your kids faces rather than the actual film plot that does as good of a job it can to bring you the clash of these titans. This film is the level in Super Smash Bros. That doesn't exist and you really wish it did. If the Nintendo game can get a 10, this film deserves an 8 in my opinion.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Ties up all loose ends
The final chapter in the 9 Episode saga answers just about every loose end you can imagine in two hours. The ones that were created in this film, I'm sure will be addressed on Disney+ Well done JJ!
Frozen II (2019)
The Disney Musical
It seemed like Disney had 50 songs in the vault they needed to use before they lost the rights to them and so they used 14 of them in this movie. The story was good, but it was lost DEEP in the soundtrack.
Midway (2019)
Navy Pride
If you're a Veteran, this will make you proud. If you're not, then you're probably comparing this to Star Wars or The Avengers. This is a good movie meant to give you an understanding of what it meant to be an American Sailor/Pilot back when anything state-of-the-art was coming out of Japan.
Ad Astra (2019)
It's like Rush. You love them or hate them.
If you can listen to Cygnus X1 and go for a journey, this movie is for you.
If you can listen to Xanadu and drink the milk of paradise, this movie is for you.
If you love the plot line of 2112, this movie is for you.
Otherwise, leave your "1" rating and tell us how much you didn't understand it.
The Addams Family (2019)
Even my kid was bored
Look, I like kids films. Simple, funny. Pixar nails it, Illumination is a close second, but I'll say that even the subpar Abominable was better than this. This was...what? Halloween? A dig on HGTV? A chance for actors to make a paycheck between blockbusters by lending their voices to make a decent cast? I rate kids movies based on the reactions by my kids. I've never seen my kid sit for 90 minutes waiting for a punchline then look at me wondering if we're supposed to leave or stay for the movie to make a point.
