The Parent Trap (1998)
Cameo from actress in the first movie
I adore this movie. I grew up watching the original version and I loved it. In the scene where Nick meets Meredith's parents, I noticed that Meredith's mother looked extremely familiar. I got a good look at her face and realized that she played the father's scheming fiancé in the original movie! Just to be sure, I looked it up on IMDb and there it was! She's Vickie Blake in this movie and Vickie Robinson in the original. Just thought that was pretty cool! I loved that they kept with the original film, but just updated it a little bit. And even though there are no musical numbers in this film like there was in the other one, they do have one little clip with Hallie singing "Let's Get Together" while waiting for the elevator. I can't remember how old I was when I first saw the original movie, but I'm 26 now and I still love this movie. When I have kids, I hope it will be one of their favorites as well!
Escape to Witch Mountain (1995)
It was pretty good
This version of this movie was pretty good. It was a different kind of take on it. As to the comment that one person made about the previous film; it was made in 1975, not the 50's. If you're going to comment on something, know what you're talking about it. The kids' acting could have been a little bit better, but look at how young they are. It was the beginning of most of their careers. Most kids that age don't have the experience to be perfect actors. Cut them some slack. For a TV movie, it was pretty good. The special effects for this were pretty good. The script kept you interested and wanting more. People always seem to be expect movie quality from TV movies, that's just not that realistic. They don't have that kind of budget.
