Dated and really awful
20 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I have always been a huge Star Trek fan and was hoping for some biting satire from the man who brought us Family Guy Blue Harvest. SDly this shows greatest mistake is in trying to be a sincere drama most of the time. The satire is there but it's wafer thin. I don't mind the fact that it clearly is more emojis wNt of STNG then Star Trek. Even the androidy dude sounds (perhaps deliberately) like Data. Another massive issue I have is Seth in the lead role. He's not a good actor or leading man. But hey, if you like constant penis jokes, then this pile of tripe is for you!! I think they could have done something more entertaining like making it into an Office like mockumentary in space.

A tale of two seasons
26 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Season one I reviewed and gave a 9 I thought it was as epic as Dune with the best fx I have ever seen in any dci fi show- tv or cinema. My only complaint was that not all the cast was as excellent as the Emperor and the android. Story was superb however Directing and editing was terrific. Then season two came along. The first two episodes weren't terrible but then the third episode came along and every thing changed A sub story involving two gay characters dominated the episode. Clearly they were trying to have their Last of Us episode that succeeded so well in pulling this off. It was simply dreadful and the two main female characters are sooooo bland and uninspired. Watch season one and skip the rest.

Karens Gone Wild

Warning: Spoilers
An irredeemable and offensive turd of a movie. Tried to be a cinema verite with its supposed one take for the entire movie. Two things: if you want it to appear like a real documentary don't add a soundtrack. Secondly, if this was all one take in real time, how is it possible to to from morning to night?? The acting was actually decent to be fair I know it's trying to expose the racism in America but this felt like an updated version of Last House I'm the Left. It will leave you angry and disgusted which I suppose is the point but so what? Do we need this trash? How in the name of god Ilis this entertainment? Maybe if you get off on watching car accidents then this movie is for you.

Nauseating unscary gore fest
25 October 2022
It is beyond me how anyone could give lame excuse of a movie a positive review. Art the clown is no Pennywise. He has good makeup for sure but what made Pennywise frightening was the actor behind the makeup and his psychological approach to terrifying It's victims. This movie relies on nothing but gore. Sure it's nauseating but scary? Give me a break. This is the least scary movie I've seen in years. And over two hours of this bloated mess featuring the worst acting I've seen in a long long time. If you want a new movie that's disturbing, watch Pearl. However, the Terrifier 2 is the worst movie of the last decade.

Season 5 .... Yikes!
12 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The steady decline of a once clever and nostalgic show continues with the worst season yet. Cartoonish dialogue that makes Star Wars dialogue look like Masterpiece Theatre. Gone is any satiric element. Horrendous acting all around. Still like Johnny thank God and Daniel is likeable But I give this last season 2 out of 10. So bad it was actually unintentionally hilarious at times. Until the last episode Terry Silver's character was the only character that sort of made sense. His evil plan: to spread his dojos across the valley. How diabolical!!! Fortunately there's a bunch of other sixty year old karate masters and a bunch of 26 year old teenagers to stop him!

Loads and loads of fun.

Warning: Spoilers
This is how you make a Marvel movie. All the nerds have their undies in a knot because they think it's jig serious enough lol. I loved it. Ending battle somewhat anti climatic but the first half in particular was tremendously funny. Don't listen to the negative reviews. If you like Raganok I guarantee you will love this. Even more funny. Christian Bale was very good in a bit of a limited performance. Special mention of Russell Crowe ad Zeus. He was so funny and it was refreshing to see the actor in such a fun role. Best Marvel movie since Raganok! Portman was really good too. See it. Enjoy it. It's total popcorn.

Almost perfect
6 July 2022
This is a thoughtful movie that relies on tension rather then cheap thrills. It's about claustrophobia, sanity, and insanity. The divisive third act I struggled with the first time but now I think it adds to the theme. I think what sets it apart is the emotions of the very humanly frail crew. Watch it and tell me there's a better sci fi movie in the last ten years.

Warning: Spoilers
I quite enjoyed the first three seasons. Then the flashbacks started shortly after the death of a major character. Went downhill so quickly. The flashbacks were terribly acted and did nothing to further any storyline. Then they completely watered down the best character on the show, Pope, who once terrified me Now he's a shadow of his former self and meanders around aimlessly for most episodes. I cannot remember any show where the quality dipped so quickly. I made it through ten minutes of the episode one of the most recent Season. Life is too short and there are far too many better shows!

Obi Yawn Kenobi
3 June 2022
Good lord why? Unforgivable how Disney turned Kenobi into the usual reluctant has been. The script was awful. Don't get me started on how bad young Leia is. Disney ruins everything. It's all just a cash grab now.

Starts strong
31 May 2022
I loved seasons 1-3. They were as good as Vikings with great consistency. Season four however is a colossal bore. Every episode feels identically. It doesn't have nearly the strong cast as Vikings. Vikings is more interesting because it delves over into the characters motivations. I'm hopeful season five gets back to what made this a solid show.

Holy cliches

Recycled Rocky. Complete with video split screen video training montages. Nick Nolte absolutely horrible in the most cliched role ever as the alcoholic trainer. This movie is as bad as it gets. Loud. Obnoxious. Pretentious.

This was like a good episode of one of the CSI shows I found the one actress from Nurse Jackie very annoying. She's extremely limited. There are far better shows like this out there. Still it was ok. Average

Turds come in black and white too!
13 December 2019
I M a lover of disturbing films. This movie is disturbing all right- disturbingly awful. It makes no sense. The lead actress was ok I guess this movie makes the Human Centipede 2 look like Gone With the Wind. If you want a disturbing de don't black and white film black see the Lighthouse. Ignore the high reviews because the reviewers must have been high!

Don't listen to the haters!
18 October 2019
I'd you like derivative, stupid buddy buddy cop thrillers that's are loud with slam editing like the obnoxious Fast and Furious movies, then this movie is NOT for you! It is an uncompromising gritty movie that lets the audience e make up its own mind about morality. It is unflinching and disturbing. It is unsentimental and dark. It is brilliant

Don't listen to the harsh reviews
12 September 2019
This is a fabulous show. I'm on season 8 and the overall quality has not diminished from the brilliant season one. The actors are mostly excellent and yes it is a soap opera but a damn good one at that. It has become more dramatic and slightly less light hearted over time but that's only becuase the characters feelings for each other have deepened.

Phenomenal
21 August 2019
I'm a bit late in arriving to this show. I am on season four and constantly stop binging. It's rare that a show has such a likeable and believable cast. This isn't epic drama lie Breaking Bad or the Wire. However it has so much heart and compassion and humour It is a highly intelligent "drama" about real people. I cant recommend it enough.

Cheesey but fun
26 July 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Just recently watched this Teenage favorite wondering how it weathered the test of time. It's cheesey and illogical How the hell does crime rise 400 percent all of a sudden? What did they do to transplant thr millions of Manhattan residents to create this prison? In spite of all this it's a damn good exciting flick. It's so weird and wonderful and tense. Kurt Russell is just ultracool after playing dorky Disney parts for years in the seventies Forget abt negative reviews. Just accept the illogic and cheese. Have a glass of wine and enjoy this classic!

Horror art at its best
10 July 2019
Don't listen to the negative reviews. Poole who didn't like it don't understand psychology or art. This is one of the best if not the best psychologically disturbing movies I've ever seen. It is a visual feast. The long tracking shots have never been done like this before. It's a complete descent into madness. I can't wait to wAtch it again.

Worst movie of the year
3 June 2019
If I could give this a negative star rating I would. It's so horrifically awful that I don't know where to begin. Worst acting of the decade. Worst writing of the decade. I thought it had to be a prank. Don't listen to any positive reviews. I've never seen a more ludicrous piece of trash in my life.

Check it out!!!
29 May 2019
This show has quietly and steadily grown on me. I wasn't blown away by season one but thought it was still very good. Since then it has become one of my favorite shows. Gritty. Realistic. Outstanding writing. Well rounded characters. It has just gotten better every season. And I can't think of a more likeable protagonist than Harry Bosch.

Strong start
23 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Season one was cheeky, fast and fun like Oceans Eleven. Season two matched it overall And then there is season three. What a let down. The back story of looking for a lost mother is incredibly melodramatic and boring. Pure filler. The main caper nowhere near matches the previous seasons intensity. I hung in there for six episodes but it was an utter boring train wreck

Ok I will keep this brief. This latest chapter in the Alien universe looks better and resonates emotionally far better then Prometheus The effects are tremendous and it serves well as both a horror movie and an action movie. Just see it and enjoy it!

Ignore the haters!
20 January 2019
I felt compelled to respond to the haters out there. This is a modern classic. One of the best horror movies ever made. If you do not like to think then this movie is not for you. If you liked the Shining then this movie is for you. It's not as scary as say Hereditary but it is more inventive, more compelling and will haunt you. Every adult should see this movie. If you're sick of the Hollywood typical tripe like the Conjuring, Halloween or terrible found footage films, then see something the likes of which you'll never see again.

A tale of two movies.
30 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I really liked this movie but the abrupt tonal turn In the second half almost derails it. The first half is terrifying and bizarre. Cage establishes his character as a laid back woodsman He felt very real Then he turns into Rambo and the film loses its human emotional edge I guess it was believable becuase the whole story seemed to be a re-enactment or the fantasy novel his wife had been reading. I still highly recommend this movie. I would give the first half 10 out of 10 and the second half 5 out of 10. You will not be bored and I admire the director's ambitious choices.
