46-okunen no koi (2006)
!!!!!Brilliant!!!!!
This movie was shown within the gay film- week in my town and I must say, that I now have to widen my film horizon further. This film got everything: A great story, good motives, brilliant colors, great powerful actors and an awful lot of brilliant stylistic ideas. The story of Jun and Shiro two murderers, who meet in prison is not only told through words but through metaphors and pictures as well. Bit by bit and picture by picture you follow the development of their relationship and grow to understand it and them. For me it was a new experience of how stories can be told. Brutal in its realism and beautiful in its way of being told! I can do nothing more than highly recommend this movie to you.

Must See!!!!
A rather unusual Love- story!
This movie is just brilliant!!! I have never seen that much erotic on screen before, even though or maybe because it doesn't show "sex" in the usual way!!! You can actually feel the tension between the two main characters and this makes their way of behaving plausible and perfectly understandable, even though a lot of people might find it "abnormal" or even "perverse". But what is normal? And who decides anyway? Those are just two questions which come up watching this movie. The range of topics is wide: Love, family life, Weltschmerz and most importantly happiness and whether you are willing to risk everything to become happy. On top of it all, the story is unpredictable and this is something you don't get that often in Hollywood movies anymore.
I know I haven't actually said anything concerning what is going on, but that would spoil it. Two people who need someone who really understands them found each other. Or didn't they? That's all you need to know. The rest you have to find out for yourself!
Higher Learning (1995)
Interesting watch
I came across the movie by coincidence and kept on watching it, because it hold my attention. The movie is about racism, gender problems, rape, university life and much more. And this is my problem with the film. It tries to cover to many important topics and shows to many stereotypes. By concentrating on one or two of the topics, the film could have been more convincing. Nevertheless, the actors played their parts very well and the story was still good enough to make it an interesting watch. Most convincing in my mind was Michael Rapaport as a lost young person, who finds friends in a group of Nazis. Laurence Fishburne made a pretty good university professor as well.
